Behind Blue Eyes

All Alone in the World

   Tue, December 12, 2006 - 11:09 PM
I could only find snippets -- feel free to correct me. Thanks!

When you're alone, alone in the world
When you're alone in the world
Blown-away leaves get blown in the world
Swirled-away leaves get swirled

And hand in each hand was made for the world
Where is the hand to reach for mine back
Where are the shoes that click to my clack
I'm all alone in the world

Millions of grains of sand in the world
Why such a lonely beach?

A hand for each hand was planned for the world Why don't my fingers reach? Millions of grains of sand in the world Why's mine a lonely beach?

Where are the heels to click to my clack? Where is the voice to answer mine back? I'm all alone in the WOOOOORLD!!!

Lyrics by Jules Styne and Bob Merrill from "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol"

Just about sums it up the holidays with me...

I don't know the cartoon so I don't know the song, but it reminds me off.

nobody likes me
everybody hates me
I'm gonna go in hte garden and eat worms
....
.....

Can't remember the rest.

It's hard for me to reach out and say "you're not alone in the world" when I am going through my "Lone" phase. I don't want to lie and go "blah, balh, blah ,blah" eberybody can go "Blah blah blah blah". And I know Xms and all that stuff is hard when it goes that way. I'm at work so I don't have to worry about it. Also I need alone-time right now.
But can I say "be your best friend and you'll never be alone"

Here is one thing I like to do if I am alone at a time I don't want to be.

I prepare one day of "celebration" by planning my favourite food.
In addition to my favourite food...and it has to be fancy to feel like celebration..the day before I go to the library and borrow an INSANE number of photo books about animals, countries, art, anything all kind of stuff...dozens and dozens, LOTS.
And the night before I prepare my favourite CDs to play when I wake up.

The day of the "celebration" I have a scented bath in the morning, playing the CDs, wear comfy clothes I really like, lounge around drinking nice coffe and preparing and eating the special dish...NO icecream out of the carton allowed, everything in nice dishes!!!

i look at the books, and live "the life of luxury"...that's what I call it.

I don't do it often, but I find it helps.

I call it a day of self-pampering, Lone Wolf, and it's a very good idea. Depending upon what works for you, you might throw in a pedicure at a salon. I find this to be one of the greatest self-pampering experiences there is. You leave the salon with pretty feet, and knowing that you have done something good for the circulation in your feet.

All Alone in the World
Album: Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol (1962 TV/VHS/DVD)
Lyrics by Bob Merrill

Oh poor lonely child, poor lonely child...

When you're alone, alone in the world
When you're alone in the world;
Blown-away leaves get blown in the world
Swirled-away leaves get swirled

Listening to your heels when you walk,
making a lonely clack...
You don't know how it feels when you talk
and nobody's voice talks back

|:
A hand for each hand was planned for the world
Why don't my fingers reach?
Millions of grains of sand in the world
Why such a lonely beach?

Where is the voice to answer mine back?
Where are two shoes that click to my clack?
I'm all alone in the WOOOOORLD!!! :|

Year later...
First things first:
Thanks for posting the words to this song -- you are one of the first results I got Googling it!
Second is if you happen to know "Lone" -- the song she is thinking of it this ((clear throat))

Nobody likes me
Everybody hates me
Guess I'll go eat worrrrmms

Chorus:
Long thin slimy ones
Short fat juicy ones
It's bitty fuzzy wazzy
Worrrrrmms!

First you get a bucket then you get a shovel
Eww how the squiggle and they squirm
(Chorus)

Then you bite their heads off
Then you squeeze there guts out
Eww how they squiggle and they squirm
(Chorus)

Then you get the bucket
Then you puck your guts out
MMM how the squiggle and they squirm
(Chorus)

Nobody likes me
Everybody hates me
Guess I'll go eat worrrrmms

~hope your season is brighter this year~

All alone in the world
I remember this song from the story of mr magoo's christmas carolI From when I was a child barely 8-9 yrs of age. I am now 56 and living alone disabled and lonely The song runs through my mind very often I cling to it with fondness and only wish the writers could still be alive to write more or to extend the song, but it is a masterpiece as it is.
Thank You Sir for sharing it with us for a fond memory of better times in my life.
