Chronicles of a Hip-Hop Bard

Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley

   Tue, October 9, 2007 - 3:37 AM
"Well baby I've been here before,
I’ve seen this room and I've walked this floor.
I used to live alone before I knew ya...
I've seen your flag on the marble arch,
Love is not a victory march,
It's a cold and it's a broken HALLELUJAH!
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah"

'Hallelujah' Lyrics
Artist(Band):Jeff Buckley

*** This song is steeped in attachment consciousness but... it is a pain we can nearly all relate to. Inhale and release, true love is unconditional, it's a warm and pure eternal Hallelujah! ***

But love IS a Victory march...hmmm...or is that me?
Yes, this is a remake of Leonard Cohen's song. These lyrics in particular bother me. First of all, because my name is Victory and my mission here is love, so therefore love IS a Victory march. But me aside, it has been my experience that each relationship I've had, regardless of how many smiles or tears, has enriched me. I can honestly say I have taken away precious wisdom, that I might not have gotten otherwise. And I would say that makes it a Victory, don't you think?

Hmmmm
Thanks for your reflection. Love has torn me to shreds and thrown me at the wall many times. It has also enriched me, voa the good times and the bad.

I'm inclined to say that love is exactly what you think it is. Just like everything else... so yes, in your case it is a victory march, and why ever not?
