The Bottomless Ocean
Here To Change the World
Thu, April 27, 2006 - 7:23 PMWe were talking about life purpose and I told her that I am here to change the world.
She wanted to know how I was going to change it.
I said - "How am I not changing it already?! Just by the food I am eating, the thoughts I think, the way I move through the world, the choices I make and the way that I live my life - I am changing everything and everyone around me. I dont need to destroy worlds and tear things down to have an impact. In the presence of this Truth that I AM - I vibrate at a different frequency and its a note that reverberates through matter, and transforms everything in its presence and beyond it"
She said - "Well I dont know about myself, I mean - I dont really know that I am here to save anyone or anything"
And I replied - "How do you KNOW!! How the Fuck do you know that the guy you just bumped into on the way to the park, and the girl you made ride her bike around you....how do you know that your presence did NOT prevent some serious disaster, or alter the course of their existence in some way. We dont have to have contact with people in the way we might think to have transformed them. And dont you wonder why some people are in your life. Thinking this way changes the perspective on everything"
Its like my favorite movie - Run Lola Run: a german film by Tom Twyker (go see it!) - everyone and every outcome of every action is interconnected - and that is not just an idea or a Buddhist philosophy. Its Truth. And every thing we experience in thought, word, and deed - makes ripples in the fabric of all existence.
You wanna save the world. SAVE YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You want to change the world and revolt - BE THE REVOLUTION. You want more love - well you know where I am going. LOVE YOURSELF!!!!
Stop looking for answers - YOU are the answer. Stop asking Questions. there is no end to questioning.
Stop talking and talking and talking - and just do, experience, be, resonate, flow.
One realization - and a lifetime to actualize.

yes yes yes YES!!
over the winter, i started drinking guayaki yerba mate. i read the little envelope that the tea bag comes in, and it tells about their mission to change things for the positive by working with indigenous peoples in the amazon, creating positive flow in the economy. i liked it, and taped it to my art studio wall (i tape a lot of stuff to my walls. . .) to remind myself of their positive message. as an exercise in proving this to myself~~that every small action counts, i began taping more yerba mate envelopes in a line, starting with that first one.. i had a dance audition i was rehearsing for, and feeling anxious about it. so, as a way to remind myself that i was indeed progressing toward that goal, every day i practiced dance: i'd tape a tea envelope to the wall. by the time i went to the audition, the line stretched all the way across the room. this showed me that however the outcome of the audition~~i was doing what i could to prepare for it. AND at the same time (more importantly in the Grand Scheme), it reminded me that i was helping to make a difference in the world by buying a tea that was incidentally a little more expensive than other brands. it's twoo! it's twoo!! i try to smile to as many strangers as i can. you really don't ever know how that might affect their day! (and it makes me feel good, too!) keep it up!! and keep writing and sharing about it!! all of us being mindful and supporting each other makes us stronger and bolder and even more wonderfully impactful!! i'm with you, sister. |

Thanks for all that juicy goodness Tif.
Funny how easy it is to pick-pick-pick - but loving takes effort sometimes. Appreciation, whas that?! Intracellular Penetration of our Divinity expressing Itself - Like the snowcapped waves Riding us out-out-out of the mind And Threatening to overtake us With one big whoooooosssshh!!!! |

How True...
This is plausible enough for all to see.... We all have a divine spark within us; you either nurture it, accentuate it, enhance it, bring it out or stifle it with worry and doubt. Anyone who has seen the Frank Capra movie, "A Wonderful Life" should understand how we under estimate our influence upon others simply by being in proximity to others, engaging in conversation, having a relationship to them, or not. Life is an equation and we are ALL viable, effective factors whether we realize this or we don't.
