Today I was having lunch with a friend of mine. We were talking about life purpose and I told her that I am here to change the world. She wanted to know how I was going to change it. I said - "How am I not changing it already?! Just by the food I am eating, the thoughts I think, the way I move through the world, the choices I make and the way that I live my life - I am changing everything and everyone around me. I dont need to destroy worlds and tear things down to have an impact. In the presence of this Truth that I AM - I vibrate at a different frequency and its a note that reverberates through matter, and transforms everything in its presence and beyond it" She said - "Well I dont know about myself, I mean - I dont really know that I am here to save anyone or anything" And I replied - "How do you KNOW!! How the Fuck do you know that the guy you just bumped into on the way to the park, and the girl you made ride her bike around you....how do you know that your presence did NOT prevent some serious disaster, or alter the course of their existence in some way. We dont have to have contact with people in the way we might think to have transformed them. And dont you wonder why some people are in your life. Thinking this way changes the perspective on everything" Its like my favorite movie - Run Lola Run: a german film by Tom Twyker (go see it!) - everyone and every outcome of every action is interconnected - and that is not just an idea or a Buddhist philosophy. Its Truth. And every thing we experience in thought, word, and deed - makes ripples in the fabric of all existence. You wanna save the world. SAVE YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You want to change the world and revolt - BE THE REVOLUTION. You want more love - well you know where I am going. LOVE YOURSELF!!!! Stop looking for answers - YOU are the answer. Stop asking Questions. there is no end to questioning. Stop talking and talking and talking - and just do, experience, be, resonate, flow. One realization - and a lifetime to actualize.

Well, last nights show was really fantastic. The night was crisp and fresh, and the club was packed with people. A warm glow of candlelight filled the room as I shared gifts of spirit and song. I felt really capable of bringing my whole self to the stage last night, and was actually kinda sassy!! It was my last show of 2005, and I feel like a bear - ready to do a bit of hibernating - in the studio, of course!! Andre (my producer) and I have been chopping away at the stone, sculpting sound, giving definite shape to these creatures, these beings that are being borne through me. Music is flowing, pouring out of me, like it knows it has a home. I have been getting rid of lots of old things I dont need anymore. Cleaning house, and making room for the new. It feels so good to just release all this stuff, and decide if I really need it at all. As I go through drawers and closets, memories flood into my mind - of times and places I bought something, or found it, or was given a gift. My life coming into new perspective. A sense of who I was finding a place within who I am now. And that is always changing. I feel a strong need to change the outer world now - since I have transformed so much of my inner landscape. Most people begin on the outside - which is important too - however, the truest transformation happens at the root of the tree. I am SO READY!!! I just feel so strong in a really gentle way right now. YEAH!!!!!!!

I opened the set this Monday night with my song "Spinning Blind" -to an audience of multi-ethnic men and women. The song is about racism, politics, identity, American culture, and calls upon the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr. Its a story of 2 young adults (a guy and a girl) who have a sense of hopelessness and despair about their lives - tied into the reality that their lives are fatally determined by the racism they have encountered, that paralyzes them, and the world we live in today.......... As I was noticing this, I still had to keep playing the keys and singing in perfect time and pitch, but it hit me in my "one world spiritual heart." As an artist, I write songs sometimes as a response or a question, or because a voice wants to speak through me. The one thing I can never account for is the response I might receive. I felt really grateful that I could speak to the hearts of people who may feel like a part of them is still aching, and somehow silenced, or defeated, or enraged. I am at a place right now of being grateful for my ability to express in words and songs, what many of us feel. And there's power in our honest voices. When it comes down to it, we are all just human beings here for a HUMAN experience. I don't care what color someone's skin is, and no one else should either! We are all the children of the Earth, and we are all one race. Why is it called a race, anyway. What are we trying to win? I'm so tired of all the fighting that goes on in this world. I am tired of fighting, and you should be too. GET OFF THE BATTLEFIELD!!!!!!!! And the fight begins inside of you. The argument you can't win within. The need to be right. To WIN! At all costs!! I don't care how many people I piss off with my beliefs anymore!!! I believe in a world where we love ourselves, and we are truly capable of loving eachother. Of stepping aside to let people off the train before we push our way to get on. C'mon man!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am talking about the REAL revolution here. Its not the one where we fight and blow eachother up. Its about lighting ourselves up from the inside. We are our own Xmas trees. And when we get all lit up, everyone wants to gather around us, and enjoy. And we have gifts to share...I know I do............. :) Ko-Shin

Today I went into the studio to start recording my music, for my 1st EP! Wahooooo! I am gonna be playing on the same piano that Alicia Keys recorded her last album on. Billy Joel and Elton John have also recorded with this piano. Its freakin' fantastic! Did anyone say that I was a little bit excited?

Friday night I had the great fortune (due to some urging by my friend Sharon) to see the man, himself, Elton John, playing at Madison Square Garden. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!! He is such a genius, and a phenomenal performer who lives up to the word Master, in every sense. He gave us a 3 1/2 hour performance - with his rockin' backup band and an 8 person choir. He sang songs from the new album, did the Captain Fantastic Songs, and then sang a whole lotta greatest hits, and some other tunes I wasn't familiar with. The thing that really struck me, as a performer, was that after almost every song - he jumped up with a huge grin, and went to each corner of the stage pointing at the audience, thanking them, and basking in the glow of his musical prowess. He is ALIVE!!!!!!! And p.s. - it is possible to get last minute tix to great shows - I got a ticket 2 hours before at the Box Office. Gleeperdygooperschnitzelfoffers. There must be a strange planetary lineup today. I am not one who usually falls or trips, but today I fell UP the stairs (yes its possible, and better than down) in the subway station. UGH! And all day people seemed to be moving at odd paces, and I banged my foot and grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT, I feel really happy today, anyway. Its a strange day, what will the night be????

Oh yes, Back from zee Playa. The dust has not settled yet. Did anyone else have to spend $35 on drycleaning, and another $20 to do 5 loads of laundry!!! I have to say though my suitcases are broken, and full of dust - it was worth it all!!!!!!! To all of you who I met on la playa - love, hugs, and songs of the spirit. I am back home in NYC, "getting it together" and prepping to start playing shows for all you people. So keep posted. Anyone know a great producer??? Studio?? Engineer?? Love Ko-Shin
