Thanks so much for everything I had such an amazing time here, Decom was amazing and i'm so glad I got to see so many there. I'll have some more pics up when I have more time, i'm currently trying to wrench my fingers away from the computer... amazing how difficult it is to wean myself off!

Hey Everyone,

I've decided to move up North for a little bit before embarking on a crazy adventure. It's been all very last minute so I know to some of you this may come as a surprise! I'll be heading to Whistler some time in the 3rd week of Oct. (anyone need furniture or a tv contact me i'm selling EVERYTHING).

So I'm hoping that I can gather you all to join me for my last californian summers day on the beach. Come bring food, drink, fire wood, yourselves and whatever else. I'm hoping to stay well on till after sunset and enjoy a good ol' bonfire.

I'm just trying to get this out asap so I know i'm missing an exact address i'm just going to say the southern parking lot @ Dockweiler... in front of it somewhere. Details to follow...

Also I know i don't have everyone's e-mail so please pass this on. I really do hope I see you before I go!

Any suggestions welcome as well!!!!

On the road again...

Seems to me I have some kind of condition which won't let me stick around in one place for too long. I don't think that travel bug quite covers the extent of my condition.

Where to next... well, in a very hasty decision leaving me very little time to get things organized, packed and ready to go, I've decided to move to Whistler for the winter. It had been something that I had always considered doing and I sort of thought that window of opportunity had passed me by. But in true Kot style I'm opening up that window and squeezing it in. I'm sick of sucking at surfing! No, I still love it but I miss the snow and the mountains and before I deprive myself of them completely I thought I'd immerse myself in them.

After the season is over I hope to get a job at a lodge also in BC so I can work the summer away whilst enjoying beautiful British Columbia! Mosquito's here I come.

So the main reason for me ultimately leaving and giving up my summer is to go to South Africa to be a field guide/park ranger and ultimately doing conservation work as well as hopefully volunteer work all through Tanzania, Mozambique and South Africa. I would also love to make it Madagascar to finish my Dive Master and help out on the reefs there. Hopefully in the midst of all this I can squeeze in a hike to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. That said who knows how far my funds will take me. But where there's a will there's a way.

Yes, big aspirations. But I'm so sick of my desk I can't take it anymore! I'm sad to leave CA as I've made some great friends and have still been meeting so many new people that I would have loved the pleasure of getting to know better. I'll miss the warm weather, the ocean, the desert, the coastline... so much.

I hope to before embarking to Africa to get myself (finally) a decent camera and I'll be posting photos as per usual well once I'm finally there... There's still a year or so ahead of me so don't fret I'm still going to be all over the internet as per usual.

For those of you here in CA once I have actually figured out when I'm leaving etc I hope to have you all in one place to say goodbye to.

Running in a million different directions

so I'm not actually going anywhere. The pull just keeps me standing upright. I can't make up my mind. So many pros and cons. Then I have to wonder am I running to or away from things. I wonder if I'll ever settle down or at least slow down and try stay in one place for more than one or two years.
