The sale of my grandma's house is about to close. I'm sad about leaving this house where I grew up and have so many memories. I know all life is change and this is another step in my journey (as well as in my mom's and grandma's respective journeys). But I will miss this house with its small forested area that my grandpa planted, the large yard, swimming pool, pond, and bar room complete with pool table and bar. deer sighting
Saw a young buck this morning....a spike. He was a skinny things with 4-6 inch nobbed antlers......or will be antlers when they grow a bit. He meandered out of the woods as he foraged for food. He took an interest to the apple tree out front, reached up on his hind legs and grabbed hold of leaves and branch....and perhaps an apple, though it's probably too early for those yet. My Grandma has put her house up for sale again. Too much for her to take care of with the pool, pond, yard, and everything. A little hard for me. My childhood home and my place to come back to for 34 years....and my current residence.

Anyway, it's up outta Castle Rock, built in 1967, 3 bdr, 1 1/2 bath on 2 acres out in the country. House is 1952 square feet. listed at $250,000.

memorial day doin's
having worked graveyard last night is kicking my ass this morning. still, i went with Grandma and Mom to where Grandpa is burried today and took him fresh cut lilacs from Grandma's lilac tree that grows at the corner of the house. Just felt right and I love the smell of lilacs. hard to believe it's been almost 16 years since he exited this plane of existence.
