Caged bird in a boundless sky
"If you're not amazed by how naive you were yesterday, you're standing still. If you're not terrified of the next step, your eyes are closed.
If you're standing still and your eyes are closed, you're only dreaming you're awake.
A caged bird in a boundless sky."

I have been trained to work with injuries and expecting moms. I use only organic, all natural creams and laundry soaps. While I am charming and sassy, I only do professional, therapeutic, draped massages. No exceptions, so please don't ask.
Open most days 12-8.
$49 an hour $74 for 90 minutes
Located near Arlington Blvd in the El Cerrito Hills. My quiet space has gorgeous canyon views. I can pick you up at El Cerrito Del Norte BART.
Swedish- Known for its long, light, circulatory strokes as well as gentle kneading and striping along muscle lines.
Deep Tissue- This modality requires a strong knowledge of anatomy. I can work deeply into your areas of stress or injury with slower movements and more intense pressure.
Shiatsu- Based on Chinese Meridian Theory, Shiatsu uses stretches and acupressure points. Benefits general health as well as specific ailments. May be done clothed on the floor or on the table as a part of a normal session.
Cranio-Sacral- A subtle modality that focuses on the movement of the cranial fluid and the subtle movements of the skull, sacrum, and feet.
Hot Stone- Hot stones are laid under your chest and on the chakras. They can also be placed on the hands and feet and used for deeper pressure and fluid massage strokes. I have basaltic lava stones which radiate heat and absorb pain as well as semi-precious gem stones for chakra clearing and balancing. Great for emotional healing.
Trigger Point Release- Trigger Points are common stress points in the muscles that refer pain to other areas of the body.
Reiki- A form of subtle energy work. May be focused on specific points where it hurts to massage too deeply.
I am also a KRI certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher and I would love to add meditations or chanting to any session.
Spiritual Enlightenment, The Damnedest Thing
I'm reading this great Jed McKenna book by that title. It rocks. Here's a quote It's supposedly a quote from a Buddha....
"I will obtain the ultimate truth and ultimate reality. That is the ultimate aim of my life in this world- whether my body will remain with me or go to pieces. My bones and flesh may go into complete annihiliation or remain with me; I shall obtain the true form of the universe. Through innumerable incarnations, good results; I have obtained a human body, I will not lose this golden opportunity and will certainly obtain samadhi and the Real Form of Consciousness. Calamity may come or go, mountains may break upon my head, but I will not leave my promise to obtain nirvanam."

Protest The Olympic Torch This Thursday/ anti-pesticide spray petition
Hey y'all! Come help me protest the cruel treatment of the Tibetan people by the Chinese this Thursday in Justin Hermann Plaza as the olympic torch passes through town. 1-2PM.Also- here's info I copied from Wendy's blog on how they want to aerial spray pesticides over the bay area....ick! From what I read in Discover magazine this month, pesticide safety is tested for the "average man of 150 lbs" so if you weigh less than that or have kids or pets, there hasn't been any testing as to whether or not pesticide spray is safe for you!
The State of California plans to begin aerial pesticide spraying for the Light Brown Apple Moth (LBAM) over the entire Bay Area starting AUGUST 2008. The California Department of Food & Agriculture (CDFA) plans to use low flying airplanes to spray San Francisco, Marin, the East Bay, and other Bay Area Counties with toxic synthetic chemicals delivered in plastic microcapsules.
So what does this have to do with you and why should you care? Essentially, you will be repeatedly blanketed during the night with toxic chemicals that MIGHT stop a moth that to date has not done any crop damage or caused any economic loss. While officials claim this is safe, this method increases your chances of heightened allergy response or even new respiratory problems you never had before, compromises organic food production, both commercial and private, and will have unknown effects on wildlife and aquatic animals as the chemicals make their way into our waterways.
There have already been reports of the same spraying in the Santa Cruz area negatively impacting the health of the general public. Children, the elderly, persons with chemical sensitivities and allergies, and pets are the most vulnerable. This method of pest control is shortsighted and downright idiotic. Our state is using methods that seem to be stuck in a myopic 50s chemical-happy mentaltality when farmers already have pheromone traps and sticky ties for localized pest control that will not compromise the health of millions of people, you included. If this upsets you like it does me, then I urge you to take at least one of the steps below:
1) Sign the petition at www.stopthespray.org or www.cassonline.org
2) Call the Governor's office directly and express your concern: 916-445-2841
3) Call the Dept of Food and Agriculture to complain: 1-800-491-1899
4) Contact the media to voice your concern and ask them to run public service announcements and public service ads
5) Ask your Assembly member to support legislation to stop the spraying and do whatever they can to stop the spraying until legislation can be passed
6) Ask your federal congressional representatives and senators to lift the USDA quarantine of California crops from area where the light brown apple moth has been found.
