DJ Genome aka DJG
(Shelter - San Francisco)
www.virb.com/dean
Genome’s high-octane Drum & Bass sets mixing upfront tunes alongside big classics and crowd favorites made him a key member of the long-running Eklektic and Phuturo weeklies and the SF scene at large. These days he can be found running his new mixed-genre venture Shelter every Tuesday at UndergroundSF.
Mr. Munk
(Reflex, In2It - San Francisco)
www.myspace.com/djmunk
Not many Jungle DJ’s in the Bay can claim a hustle like the committed and versatile selekta, DJ Munk, and it was a no-brainer to invite him down for his first set at SDI. A member of the Reflex collective, now Munk can also be found at In2It, his brand new Sunday D&B bi-weekly at Element Lounge.

The original “King of the Rollers,” Doc Scott is arguably one of the legends of the the drum and bass scene. From Reinforced to Metalheadz to his own label, 31 Records, he has pioneered the sounds we know as drum and bass today and continues to lead the way forward.
As an artist, he has been responsible for some of the scene’s defining moments including hardcore classics ‘NHS’ and ‘Here Come the Drumz’, ‘Shadowboxing’ and, in his Nasty Habits guise, ‘Liquid Fingers’.
As a label owner, he has strived to release music that pushes boundaries with releases such as Marcus Intalex’s ‘ How You Make Me Feel’ and the smasher ‘Vault’ by Pendulum. First and foremost, however, Doc Scott remains dj who sets are second-to-none, effortlessly crossing the full spectrum of drum and bass and igniting dancefloors with fresh and inspirational sounds.
For 2007, Doc Scott looks forward once more like no other. Reinterpreting the past and bringing two stone-cold classics bang up to date, he has a new version of ‘Drumz, entitled ‘9507’, and ‘Tokyo Dusk’ (a reworking of ‘Tokyo Dawn’) set for release later in the year. In addition, there’s brand new Nasty Habits material to look forward to on 31 Records along with releases from DJ Vapour and Mixmaster Doc. Expect to hear these first, alongside other future classics, DEC 14th featuring Doc Scott in San Francisco!!!!!

Indeed, last week turned out to be pretty SICK, with folks going ape to our techno and twerk house sounds @ Qool, followed by Nikola slaying the Anu dancefloor. Friday saw a packed house at Matador for our LA pals BasE and Clovis, and Saturday was all kinds of fun all over the place!
This week includes yet more fun times. Happy birthday Kevin Knapp, and what better way to raise a glass to the Surly Gorilla than by attending this week's edition of Satellite featuring Claude von Stroke! You know the funk's gonna be in abundance at this show. Thursday I highly recommend checking out Aaron Karo performing live at Cobb's Comedy Club. Friday night is the usual cure to your wellness, SICK @ Matador featuring more special guests, cheap drinks, and dope beats. Your Saturday evening 1-2 punch begins with Still Doin' It featuring Method One and Bachelors of Science, followed by Kontrol at End Up for More Claude von Stroke action and the return of Derek Plaslaiko!

Sunset Promotions and Still Doin' It are proud to bring back the drum n bass legends LTJ Bukem and MC Conrad. Bukem shows always go off large in San Francisco, and tonight at The Independent should be no exception. For those of you who have spent the last decade under a rock or in a cave, and need a little convincing, know this: when it comes to the blissed-out, smooth and cinematic sounds of drum n bass, no one on this planet has left a bigger mark than LTJ Bukem and his label Good Looking Records. Joining Bukem and Conrad on the night are Still Doin' It residents Method One, Kuze, and microphone magicians Emcee Child and Ax!om MC. Independent's stellar sound system is sure to get a proper rinsing with LTJ's dubplates at center stage. Propah!
