This was a compliment to a Power Point project I did about a particluar reagion and its food. I'm currently working on an edit that would withhold some of the anti-admin images...

What is going on with our Military?

"The Michigan Dilemma"
An Analogy Using A Canoe Race

A Japanese company (Toyota ) and an American company
(General Motors) decided to have a canoe race on the
Missouri River . Both teams practiced long and hard to
reach their peak performance before the race.

On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile.

The Americans, very discouraged and depressed,
decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat.
A management team made up of senior management
was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate
action.

Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people
rowing and 1 person steering, while the American team
had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing.

Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management
hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount
of money for a second opinion. They advised, of course,
that too many people were steering the boat, while not
enough people were rowing.

Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to
prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's
management structure was totally reorganized to 4
steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents
and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager.

They also implemented a new performance system that
would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive
to work harder. It was called the "Rowing Team Quality
First Program," with meetings, dinners and free pens
for the rower. There was discussion of getting new
paddles, canoes and other equipment, extra vacation
days for practices and bonuses.

The next year the Japanese won by TWO miles.

Humiliated, the American management laid off the
rower for poor performance, halted development of a
new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital
investments for new equipment. The money saved was
distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and the
next year's racing team was out-sourced to India.

The End

Isn't this reminiscent to our Government policies???

“As The Pendulum Swings”

The sick repeat of Viet Nam war policies by our incompetent administration makes me Ill.
One must learn, and trust the fact, that our military is the greatest in the world, bar none.
There are many factors our military is so great and one factor in particular, I think, is that we have seasoned leaders at the top levels of military strategy planning and decision making. If ever given the chance to construct strategies and decisions were applied forth with concerning the war in Iraq the United States of America top Military Brass would most defiantly have given us different results today.
Given that the Generals’, Admirals’, colonels’ Lieutenants, Sergeants the enlisted men and women, and every person in between are the best from training to executing orders, one would think that if one were to decide, in favor of, invading a country a world away, that one might possibly trust the experts to accomplish such a undertaking, as opposed to, relying on ones own experiences as, oh, I don’t know, let’s just entertain the idea of, and I know I’m grasping here, an overseen daddy’s boy failed mission attempt in the Army Air National Guard, to run a WAR from the confines of a cushy office.
Any Idiot can throw a dart at a spinning globe and tell the modern American Military “go get ‘em” and given the proper support mechanisms, will indeed, “Go Get ‘Em”.
I say, “put down your pride helmet Mr. President and let our military get their selves out of the quagmire where have sabotaged and submerged them here”.
I don’t know, I’m just sayin!
Peace!
Kyle…

Too bad this will more than likely be very true in the near future. It is not my intention to down play our soldiers assigned missions.
I want to make a shout out to all the sand monkeys who desire the camel MickyD's drive thru, by makeing a statement on how America is always butting in where there nose doesn't belong. Some of us John Q. Publics' here in the U.S.A understand that you have been fighting for that oversized beach for thousands of generations.
The middle east has an abundence of oil, therefore the need to take it is shared by only a select few (we're not going to pay for the oil, what are you thinking?). The others understand that when all the oil is gone and only the McDonalds' are left, guess what, You'll be fighting for many more generations to come.

For the American Soldier

Fighting the Good Fight

2 Timothy 4:7-8

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;

Dear Father, warrior against evil,

Help me to fight the good fight. Help me to finish the race. Help me to keep the faith, so that I will receive the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award me on that Day, and not to me only but to all who have loved his appearing.

Teach my arms to war. Teach my legs to run. Teach my lungs to pump air. Let me be a furious and fast warrior in your army of faith. Let me be absolutely immovable in the trust I have in you. Give me an overwhelming love for you and everything you stand for. I love you, Father. I love Jesus and the Spirit. I love your kingdom and all your people.

In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Saying good bye to Jerry Ford in his home town of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
What an awesome show of support this day turned out to be. 60,000 people went to the museum for the viewing. 75,000 people lined the streets as the internment procession drove by. Several dignitaries attended including Cheney, Carter, Rich DeVos (of Amway) and many others.
I felt for Mrs. Ford the news broadcast showed a very exhausted grieving wife.
The day ended with a spectacular salute of a 21 jet fighter fly-over (F15's) 4 rows of 4 jets with the fifth row including a fifth jet to show support navigating the lost soldier formation. The thing kept climbing and climbing until it disappeared into the heavens. A friend had taken some pix so I'll post them later

I was trulely moved as usually I'm not into the whole glitz and glam of politics.

Thunder Joy
I heard a sound
So ever faint
Pound, pound, pound
It must be found

Was it a heartbeat?
No not mine
All the while
A continual re-pete

Searching up and down
For this musical sound
It must be found
For energy it emits
Can reverse a frown

I began to wonder
Could it be thunder?

Distance afar
Comes the musical trance
Sun shining
Like a brightly lit star

Thunder it’s not
I will find the beginning
This is something
That cannot be forgot

Searching valley and river
All through the land
Rhythmic sounds echo
I feel will deliver

Sound of thunder
Softly gently
Over taking my thoughts
Becoming
The rhythms plunder

I scream at God
This must be you
Nothing about it
Seemingly odd

Give me a path
To follow I will
This sound becomes me
I’ll be gone in a flash

Rat-a-tat-tat
Tat-tat
A-rat-a-tat
One does not know
On and on it goes

The Lord comes
Gives me a direction
A place
Not made of protection

Mud, stone, brick or board
Follow I must
His toung is
A two edged sword

As mountains
Begin to surround
Like the great coliseum
I am finally enlightened
To the creator of this sound

A little boy
And his shinny little toy
Making thunder of Joy
Playing his drum
The little drummer boy
Pa-rum-pa-pum-pum

A little about Alaska

I'm a "former resident" of Alaska although I'll be returning, sometime in the near future. Most people in Alaska are not prejudice towards each other. The most interesting characteristic to me is that the indigenous peoples are more accepting to outsiders (transplants) than transplants towards each other. We seem to bring our prejudices every where we go. It's also interesting how the Indians (as they refer to themselves) are so interested in what you can teach them about the "lower 48" or "the outside" or the "war zone" as many refer to the lower 48 states as, but in fact, they are unknowingly teaching you in ways of peaceful co-existence with mother earth and other people that you could only live to learn. It's almost as they treat you as a supernatural being it's wild. Literally wild there like stepping back 150 years. I love it up there. The people are so loving and supportive of each other in ways that affect everyone. The mentality is as though we are all in this together for survival. What one will do for another, in turn, affects many and that kind of Karma is priceless. When I first arrived at my brother’s camp, he's been a transplant for over 30 years, I was in culture shock. My brother was as well as my wife and I brought with us our "war zone" ways. Do you know what I mean when I say people down here always have to one up each other or diss one another? After about 2 months my brother just started bitching me out. The just of the tongue lashing was that he could no longer stand my sarcasm towards others. Until that day I never really saw myself that way. It was when my brother spoke up that I realized how gentle Alaskans were. In many ways I had become protective of my self "street smart" in order to maintain safety and invulnerability. Trying to always stay one step ahead of others I had become the monster my brother so eloquently described to me that day. From that day foreword I took on a new light, the Northern Light.
Don't get me wrong Alaska has been under the influence of the western ways for many full moons and in allot of circles you do have undesirables. But generally it's like a commune with millions of acres for your utilization. There is this National state park in our back yard that is the largest US National Park. Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve, I placed a couple links of interest at the bottom if you wish. I lived in chitina with my brother for the first couple of years helping him resurrect a burnt out cabin for him to have a permanent place to live as well as working for a man with a dream to bring life back to Chitina. We reconstructed/remodeled an old hotel, now called Gilpatricks Hotel Chitina. In this little mountain village, like I said, my brother has lived for a good many full moons. I might add that my bro has maintained survival and happiness in a subsistence manner, his most dollar amount earnings in a year since relocating in Alaska was $3,500.00 with $1,500.00 of that being paid to him by the permanent fund dividend for that year Yea I know "Oil Money" Another issue for another day.
A friend my brother introduced me to , a Athabascan native Chief, one day took me to some of his property for me to use to hunt or fish or what ever. That day we hiked up this giant hill in Michigan would be considered a mountain. Upon reaching the top I asked him when we would get to his property, waving his arm across the horizon, he replied, "here it is, It's yours, do whatever you wish with it" I just stood there in awe at millions of acres, streams, rivers, mountain ranges, glaciers, forests, Eagles and just about anything your imagination could conjure up. Alaska is truly the last frontier.

Please, all who reads this, upon completion, delete and do not share any word of this writing with anybody. We (transplants) don't like all the types of pollution people from the "war zone" might bring with them. lol

A POEM

Thought I'd share a poem

      CHANGE

What does it take?
To turn into a mistake
If you listen to others
SAY
I'll show you the way
Or just
Take, take, and take
Be cautious
Wrong choices could bring
The death of you
If not physical
Then surly your sprit
Through and Through
-When we are born-
We are made perfect
In the eyes of our maker
As we grow old
We do as told
A little older
We make up our own mind
Wise, witty, sentimental and kind
One thinks
It’s hard to look at ones self
It’s not like looking into a mirror
Telling you of every detail
Mirrors never lie
kinda like we never do
Right?
It’s hard to look at ones self
That you can put back on the shelf
-Middle teens-
Maybe twenty and above
No exact time I know of
I do know one thing for sure
It’s from birth to death
Somewhere in between
New attitude
Think we know everything
Our parents or peers
Become so queer
It’s a new life
If anybody butts in
Who knows what we'll do
I swear
-All we really have-
Are the teachings we gained
From the ones who love us
Through every
Trial, Gain, Pain or Stain
The queer peer was there for you
If you wanted it or not
Even when
You were a little snot
Stood by you
Through all your trials
To ultimately see you
Again
SMILE
-When we know this unconditional love-
That, from the heart,
I speak of
We will know in all our being
Someone, something
Had to take hold
Show our queer peer
Teach them
Stand by them
In the same manner
As from above
Someone, something
Had to take hold
Of that queer peer
And STEER
-The pilot at the helm-
If you will
Has been there for generations
Some things repeat
And some stay the same
I for one
Believe in the holy name
Gave my family and generations
From a-back
His will, and
Their fill
This works for me
And
My close and extended
Family
We give thanks
For the holy name
Has never shown no shame
Now it is our time
To show
And teach
AND
- CHANGE -

I am fairly new to GR. A friend told me to start here to meet people and, to get my pottery known. hope to hear from you. Looking to make friends.
My pottery can be seen at Heartside Ministries. I like to make communion plates and chalices I have sold a few but would like to sell many. I will be loading images soon.
