Heartside Ministry had it's anual Italian gala fundraiser and they asked me to do a Ice carving this is what I came up with. An abstract art piece with the leaning tower of Piza with the Heartside logo in front of it.

This picture is of my brother Michael and first cousin Michael. My cousin traveled to Alaska with my mom about 10-15 years ago to visit my brother, My cousin loved it so much he stayed. It is particuler in the sense that up to that point my cousin had been a gourmet chef, and quite the city fella as well, and giving it all up to live basically off the land in what most would coincider third world conditions. If you knew my cousin that speaks volumes as to how Alaska spellbinds and transforms even the most unsuspecting of characters to exsist with her.

Michael and his friend Vanessa enjoying the day. The cabin in the background is the cabin I helped Michael rebuild. The Cabin had burned about 10 years previous of my arrival to Alaska. Michael had been living in a wall tent for quite some time and wintering with friends or house-sitting (a common practice for nomads as people leave the cold confines of Alaskan winters)

People from all around the Copper River Basin area who have ever enjoyed Michael's salads give rave reviews. Everything included in the salad comes from Michaels garden or the near by woodlands as well as sometimes my brother compliments his creation by adding Smoked Salmon he processes.

I just love this Picture. It really shows how nice it can be in Alaska, it's not 100 below zero, sled dog transportation and igloos', although you can experience those as well. Notice the miss-match drinking glasses/mason jars on th table, I love it. Only in Alaska is where you can put on such an awsome garden lunchon without worry towards proper place settings yet the experience will rivial the most exclusive of restaurants/resorts.

Another view of Michael's garden. I don't know if you can see the rows of chairs in the front of the garden but I believe that is the remenence of the little chitina garden chapel to be used for "my wedding that never was". (long story, ask and I'll tell ya all about it)

I decorated this cake in Baking Class at GRCC. Instructor:Chef Marcia Rango Chef Rango is a renowed Cake decorator as well as very profiecent at Pastries, many types of Bread Dough, Pies', Cakes, Candy, Deserts, Strudle, Rolls, and many other delightful items as well.
