Made me feel sad.

In the Dark Days, there needs to be less focus on dark things -- no matter how salient.

Our ancestors gave us a gift. For this hemisphere, these are the darkest days of the year. What did they do? They gave us a bunch of holy days that spread all across the solistice. Days to give us faith and light, to make us remember and return to our inner lights.

We need hope... and there I was... trying to stomp on the light of someone else... found my own light stomped on. Damn. There's a lesson in that.

Regardless of your financial status, we are able to pass light from self to other -- all it takes is effort and will.
