Belly Dance song recommendations? Videos? I’m doing the dance thing solo for the time being. Because of a combinations of things, time and body issues. I need some good dance music and videos – things that can be gotten through iTunes would be ideal. Anson is not even 8 months old yet and cruising along furniture, it seems he wants to skip crawling and I’m sure he will be walking before he is a year old. I finished the Zodiac Belly Dancer series last month, but I just didn’t feel right about moving on. I wasn’t happy with Virgo, didn’t think it represented the sign well, and just wasn’t satisfied. I couldn’t move on before redoing Virgo – so I did. She is also in my shop http://www.cafepress.com/lacychenault/ . I hope all the Belly Dancing Virgos out there are happy with her as well. Now that she is redone, I feel I can move on to something else. Probably just whatever kind of belly dancers I feel like doing and some commissions along the way. NOTE ABOUT COMMISSIONS – I lost all of my old e-mails so if you wanted a commission from me, I don’t have your e-mail addys anymore – PLEASE E-MAIL ME (or Message Me) AGAIN, I am now working on commissions again since the zodiac series is finished. Yep - she's finally here she's on my site http://www.lacychenault.com - and in my shop http://www.cafepress.com/lacychenault - yay! I really hope you all like it. She makes the series complete. I am really thinking of redoing a few before moving on. BUT it is nice to have a completed set - the Zodiac Dancers! Yay! Onto belly dance class stuff. I haven't went in about a year. I am planning on going back next Wednesday and am a bit scared really - have I lost it? I dunno, I've been doing it at home, but it's so different in class. I'm excited, and nervous....and hoping it will help me to loose the baby weight!! Also does anyone use Flickr? Add me if you want - I need more belly dancers in my contacts - people who post belly dancer pics a lot please (I don't - yet - but also just anyone who post SFW pics....) but it really is an inspiration, and because I am moving in a new direction with the dancers - inspiration is nice. So, I'm getting use to motherhood. I feel like I'm a pro at nursing. Anson has a pretty good schedule down and is now rolling over all over the place. I haven't been back to dance class - there are a lot of things holding me back - most recently - an injury which may be a pulled muscle OR a hernia. Of course I am hoping it's only a pulled muscle, but 10 o'clock rolls are impossible with it. Also I have been a bit depressed and down on myself, my body image is shot all to hell. But I do what I can here at home. I found a WONDERFUL belly dancing song in the strangest of places - video game music (which my husband loves) it's Ooh la la - the beautiful girl from firenze (Shadow Hearts 2) by Yoshitaka Hirota - and it is awesome. If I ever, ever do a performance - I will use that song.

I am so happy that I am still breastfeeding - I really had my doubts that I could actually do it when I was pregnant, but now he is almost 4 months old and we're still going strong - we'll see what happens when he starts teething - ha! I have posted some pictures of him - I really am addicted to taking pictures of Anson.

On Drawing Again

I haven't drawn a new belly dancer since before Anson was born. My zodiac series only has 4 left, I really need to get back to that. Plus like 4 or 5 belly dancers want me to draw them. I've told them all I will, but haven't set any time lines. Today I started drawing again. I was afraid after so many months of not doing ti that I had lost it. It seems I haven't - so I am now working on Belly Dancer Libra.

Maturnity Leave

Even artist need maturity leave right? So, as I said in my latest newsletter I am taking mine - until the start of the new year there won't be any new art. Of course there is always the stuff I've already done. After the new year I have 5 commissions lined up and also I want to complete the Zodiac Belly Dancer series. I have big plans for my website as well - including a "teachers/classes" listing for every state and an events page for every state. It will be some work, but it is work I love to do. I am trying to enjoy these last hours, days or weeks of my pregnancy. This may be the last time in my life I ever experience this, as we are not sure if we will have more children. I don't have time for much these days, not even my art. I don't know when I will have time to do commissions again, as I don't know what to expect with baby.

My sister and I went to toys'r'us a few days ago to get Ansons' going home outfit. I did this because I am starting to pack my hospital bag. My little check list is getting a little shorter. I will be having him in about a month, so I am nervous, and excited. Seems the apartment thing got held up because they had the wrong address for Marks Dad. But last week I gave them the right address, and his Dad sent out the info a few days ago. The lady who works there saids as soon as they get that they do a criminal background check and then there are 2 - 2 bedroom apartments available and no one on the mailing list. So *hoping* for an Oct. 1st move in. Things overall are looking good - as long as that apartment is ready for us. It will suck moving at 9 months pregnant, but it would be worse with a 1 month old. Anyway people online and friends off line have been asking me about a baby registry, etc. I've been holding off hoping for either a baby shower or our move. But because the move will be a little later than expected, and the baby shower is a no-go. I thought I would post the info now. The address attached to it is my Mothers address because I just don't trust things begin sent here So she can hold onto the stuff I get until we move. OK so here goes. I am registered at Wal*Mart for "The Big Stuff" the playpen, car seat, etc. There is also small stuff on there too like baby clothes and blankets. This one is neat because you can go in store and print out the registry or you can order online. I can't wait to see my baby, but I definitely can wait to actually do the whole "giving birth" part of it. I don't want an epidural - so it may be interesting in the L&D that day. We are on a waiting list for an apartment, and at best I will probably be moving while nine months pregnant, if not I will be moving with a 1 month old. We'll see. I'm not having a baby shower it seems. Everyone is too busy to throw one for me. I try not to get upset about it - and really I think at this point I am OK with it, but sometimes it can be depressing, especially when everyone else is pregnant and having them. Blahhh....posting a pic now of my pregnant belly.

I finished Gemini! Woot! My husband is a Gemini and I must say this is one of the hardest to draw. But, I'm happy with how the twins came out - lots of stuff with them on it here - http://www.cafepress.com/lacychenault/2797657 - including some new products - like maternity shirts.....which brings me to... my pregnancy. There was a scare last month, I was bleeding badly and had to go to the hospital. Everyone was sure I was having a miscarriage, especially after they couldn't find the heartbeat. But then, I got an ultrasound and there HE was wiggling away. I was on bedrest for two weeks. There are some theory's as to why I bled sooo much, one is a ruptured membrane in there, the other is that I lost a twin. But, I can't dwell. Like I said the doctor said she "thinks" it is a boy - but not to buy any clothes yet - I get another ultrasound in June, then I will know for sure - though I have already been calling him anson. And Anson is kicking like CRAZY!

Ok, many of you may know I kind of went of the deep end in a way and auctioned off 3 of my artworks at once. First I want to thank everyone who put a bid in on these. One person won all of them - and he is actually the drummer for my teacher and troupe. I am very grateful. I guess his daughter really, really wanted one of them "Valentine" and he wanted the other two. (completely edited here - so if you don't understand some of the comments - I am sorry, I just felt I needed to get something out, and now I feel like I need to keep it in - damn I am so moody) But even in all of this I did finish Pisces. Hello Everyone I usually don't auction off my artwork anymore, as I like to keep it around. And I sure in the heck wouldn't put them on 3 day auction and low start prices. But because of current circumstances in my life I need to auction some of them quickly.
