First - Boston Burlesque Expo - be there or be square - April 10-12, www.burlesque-expo.com
I'm running classes, and if you haven't realized how much Burlesque has captivated me, we need to catch up, cause we haven't talked in a long while. This is the third year running and the best expo ever.

Second - want to do something even crazier than Bharata Natyam - try Kalari Payattu - www.navarasa.org

This is what I do in conjunction with Bharata Natyam. Kalari is a martial art that strengthens the body. It's good prep work for Bharata Natyam, because after Kalari, everything looks easy. Seriously, though, it's been a hell of a lot of fun and the conditioning is great. Perfect for martial artists looking for a new challenge, people who think yoga is too calm and peaceful and crazy people like me who want to be in shape, but hate gyms. :)

First gig in NYC - This FRIDAY!!!

Or at least *my* first time performing in NYC ever. I'm ridiculously excited about this. So excited that I'm actually posting in my blog after months of access problems at work.

This is 4 members of my Burlesque troupe - Scratch, Mina, Jezebel Pussycat and myself - along with some wonderful folks from the Big Apple. All of us are joining up to raise funds and awareness for the Boston Burlesque Expo, which happens in (duh) Boston, on February 16-19 2007. It's gonna be awesome - I'm coordinating the classes, and I can promise you I'm way excited about ALL our fabulous classes and I don't intend to stop booking more of them!

But first come see the show. I know the Babydoll numbers being performed and I can tell they are all on the A-list of our best acts.

The Babydolls are having their first birthday party! And we have cake! Yep, Caribou Edibles has donated us some cake!! So now you have your cake and eat it too! :)

I'll be doing "You're the Boss" - a reinvention of Satin's Dance by Lorraine Lane. It was the number I soloed in for Out for Blood last year. It's been my favorite of the whole year's worth of work, and since I was longing for some double head action again, Scratch said I could do it for this show. I won't be reprising it for Out for Blood in October - since we have a whole lineup of bang-up new material, so come see it here!

Also, Mina and I and maybe more will be doing "Birthday Stomp" a number that has only been seen at one private party.

This is going to be a great show, as we are showcasing our favorite numbers from the year, so you'll see the best of everything.
