I'm in the process of taking some new photos of my new studio and paintings. Life has been quite busy and trying to balance everything is quite a challenge. I've not been able to give much time to the blog as I would like to but will do my best to get it up to date. Thanks for viewing my page.

(sold at Napa Valley Open Studios 2005)
My most recent illustration work can be seen in the 2006 Spring Lookbook for Tricots St. Raphael (a perry ellis company). The spring line was inspired by impressionist painters and for this reason I chose to render the illustrations in soft pastels.

The Arts Council Napa Valley Launched Open Studios 2005 with an Artist's reception at St. Supery Winery. This year, the reception featured the "Magnanimous Magnums" silent auction, featuring some of the finest magnums of wine the valley has to offer.

The evening was a great success with an overflow of attendees and included , a raffle of a piece of work by acclaimed artist Gordon Huether, hors d'oeuvres from Alexis Baking Co. and Bouchon, St. Supery wine and the company of artists from all over the Valley! Click on the NV arts council link for a detailed list of participating artists and Open Studios schedule. The exhibit will continue to hang at St. Supery through 10/12/05 www.artscouncilnapavalley.org/adm...ost.html
It's that time of the year, time to let the studio doors swing open and let the public in to go "behind the scenes" into the spaces where the creative process hapens! Time to get ready, spruce up, dust away that pesky film that accumulated over the summer, and get some pieces ready to hang and display. I'm planning on producing some more pastels on paper to add to my collection and offer a more modest price point to balance the large oil paintings in my studio. Last night Eddi Mac (the band) played in the studio accross from mine (Doug's photo studio) and the turn out was great. They rocked the house and even offered some purcussion instruments for those who wanted to join in on the groove. I thought that was very cool, 1st time for me!

So now that I've started blogging, I'll be updating the progress as I get closer to the weekend of Oct. 1st, and get a new photo of my studio space (which I'm ever so happy to say is newly expanded, oh yeahh!) , but in the meantime here is a shot of a painting I call "Shoes and Chocolate" which will be hanging at St. Supery Winery for the Artist's Reception .
