Okay, tagged by Alex. (Thank you dear friend......)
1. I'm not really 5 feet tall.
2. I'm a real mystery/sci fi fan, presently into Midsomer Murders and the new Doctor Who.
3. I do not do well with hard alcohol. Must be the native american in me (Central American).

The day started ok. We were told to be at the hospital at 9:30 am for a 11:30 surgery. We arrived on time and waited an hour before going to pre-op at 10:30. Mojave was taken into the surgery area at 11:30, on time, everything going ok so far. Left for lunch and returned at 2:30. Her doctor told me that she should be done around 3 pm. Ok, no problem.
WRONG! 3, 3:30, 4pm goes by, no word. Asked the receptionist to check, Mojave still in surgery. 5:30, got word that the doctor would be down...

Today was the one year anniversary of the death of my brother, Sal, and I am glad it was spent in the company of Sal's wife, Maria, and my parents in Foster City. We had wine, pizza, and discussed fun memories of my brother. This Sunday will be the actual one year Memorial Luncheon in his honor. For the longest time my brother was the only one in my immediate family that accepted and understood my marriage to Mojave so I thought that I really did not need my family. But with the passing of my...

Wow, I have to say that Sal is one of the most centered people I've ever met. She's definitely the bomb. (She probably hates that I said that.)
I'm going to no doubt be embarassed throughout my life (and possibly afterwards even) on precisely how I met her...but, you know what? If I had to do it all over again, I'd have eaten more food first! And that would have made things less interesting...no seriously!...but, bless her, for being there...even if I won't ever live that experience down. Sheesh. Now she's got me talking about it. Aaargh! Its UP's fault! Sigh.
Cheers to you, Sal!

Somewhere in the mists of time a bacterium digested some yeast barf. Instead of being grossed out by this, the bacterium went "oooh, tipsy!" and told its mRNA to add a few GACTs so it could sniff out more yeast barf. Thus the "Cocktail" gene was born.
Sometime a bit later in the mists, an amoeba ran into another amoeba, and instead of saying "pardon me" and moving on like all other amoeba do, the first amoeba said "hey, nice pseudopodia!" and thus sexual reproduction got its start. In the meantime, the mRNA got busy working on the "Flirtation Gene."
My dear Laughing Sal is the apex of the evolution of those two genes. She will buy you cocktails, she will flirt shamelessly with you. Charming, funny and friendly, she will and has knocked people's socks off (among other articles of clothing). She certainly did mine, quite regularly for the last twelve years. I can't ask for anything better in a lifetime companion than this dear sweet woman with the easy laugh, a sense of fun unparalleled, and a heart bigger than the Pacific Ocean.
