Autumn Equinox/Mabon

   Fri, September 22, 2006 - 8:58 PM
Lots of astronomical/astrological events over these few days! The Autumn Equinox is just after midnight (EDT, early a.m. 9/23). Today (9/22) was the new moon and solar eclipse. 9/23 is Rosh Hashannah, the Jewish New Year. 9/24 is the start of Ramadan. Should be some interesting energy out there.

Hi Larry! Long time no Tribe encounter. I like to make a point of observing the solstices and equinoxes, however subtly, but didn't make any special plans for today. As it turned out, I went to the free show at the planetarium at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, and hearing about the stars, planets and constellations visible in the autumn sky turned out to be an excellent, if spontaneous and unplanned, way to connect with the celestial phenomenon.

Cheers,
