when i was a little girl growing up in Brooklyn in the 70's, i used to hear the most frightening rumors about the Jersey Devil. lurking under bridges, with a raspy voice and a bottle of whiskey, tattooed and bruised and tough as fuck.
no, i'm not going to say that Splendora is the Jersey Devil, but she shares something in common. one day, Splendora will be an urban legend. old queens will tell Splendora stories to the young twinks, and noone will believe it. pictures will circulate, old and ragged and well-thumbed, but people will think they were computer-generated. then one day, the freshly 21, fake tanned and blonde highlighted gay boy will look into the mirror behind his favorite bar, and he'll go AGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!@$% and there she'll be behind him. 75 years old and still fucking shit up. keep it up girl, we're proud to be ashamed of you August 3, 2005
