Global warming is increasing hurricane intensity, destroying coral reefs, raising sea levels and threatening life on this planet as we have known it.
On May 20, please join people from across the Southland - to demonstrate our concern, increase public awareness, and promote personal and government efforts to reduce global warming.
Meet us Saturday noon, at the L.A. County Hall of Administration, 500 West Temple St. in Downtown LA (90012). Take transit (www.mta.net) or car pool and park across the street in Cathedral Parking lot ($14) or use 5-hour meters 3 blocks west on Fremont Ave.
We will march less than a mile to the South Lawn of LA City Hall, at the corner of West First and South Spring St., for a Rally, 1-2:30 pm, featuring Mary Nichols, Director, UCLA Institute of the Environment, plus John Quigley (who saved the Old Glory oak tree).
Dress as an endangered plant or animal, or in green. Bring signs and banners. Please RSVP to info@EarthDayLA.org if you can be there, and whether or not you can bring a sign or banner. We need volunteer parade marshals.

We have chosen Saturday, May 20, because it is the weekend before the opening on May 24 of the new Al Gore film, "An Inconvenient Truth" (see www.ClimateCrisis.net). We are hoping that the combination of this March and Rally, plus the film, will increase the public's awareness of Global Warming and stimulate more action.
