The 02S was a fun, fast race. I was lucky enough to get a good start and unlucky enough to have 2 logistical issues in the first 3 miles. First, my camelback exploded and water was squirting everywhere. I managed to resecure the valve (without crashing in the pack) but the mouthpiece was gone as was a ton of my water and my concentration disoriented. But I got back in the game and was doing well when - rear tire flat. I pulled off to the side and realized my extra tube was still in my "a...

I've been having so much fun in the city and met so many people from all over - Brazil, Australia, a Scot or 2, U.K. .... Dallas, Mass., Seattle. Very fun to talk with. The class has been good. I really enjoy my compadres. The evenings have been even better - lots of savory food, clubs, bars, jazz, dancing. Kat from Vegas is my superstar partner in crime. CX! Yes, another bike! I'm considering buying a friend's CX bike that I borrowed last year for CX racing. Not that I plan to do that many cross races (I think I'd rather just mt bike...shhh...don't tell!) but if I have the bike, it's more likely I would race. I'm planning to use it as my fast commuter that I can leave outside but is nicer than my REALLY old commuter bike (from bio-pace crank, 6-speed era, full of duct tape). I get to pick it up and play after work.
