The capitalist system is collapsing and together we have all of the resources we need. Black Rock United Contributory Exchange LLC is a cooperative business enterprise that consists of groups and individual residents of Black Rock City, who own businesses or simply have some product, good, service, or labor that they wish to contribute to sustainable community projects. Through the B.R.U.C.E., the resources of these contributing members or contractor owners are combined in collaborative efforts that take the form of contracted projects of all types across the globe that help to foster love for self, love for others and love for the planet. In other words, B.R.U.C.E. is a general contractor that facilitates global contracts using its members as sub-contractors to complete projects that help promote kinder relations, community development and global wellness and sustainability. Find out more information about B.R.U.C.E. at www.blackrockunited.com or start at the only online social network dedicated to Black Rock City residents at www.burningmanfirst.net.
Now that's a novel idea. People pooling their resources together to get things done and help others get things done. What happened to it? Why does the idea of working together seem so foreign? Prior to WWI, that was the way of the nation. Somewhere along the line we were all brainwashed into believing that we had to do everything on our own. When did the term "We" get ejected from the American Dream? In fact, The Preamble of the U.S. Constitution seems to be full of "we."

Well I just had one of the most stimulating conversations that I have had all weekend in Montreal. I am here for my international annual sociology meetings and have seen a few papers presented but this conversation just happened between me and two of my fellow students in a really cheap chinese restaurant that didn't smell the best. Over $5.95 plates of food we talked about knowledge or what we know as truth.

Yahoo!! I don't know how it happened but after a couple of months of playing around with a staff, a Rebar Bender, a Yardman, a lot of rain and a lot of party favors, I was spinning fire last night. It was great!!! Thanks to all of you who were there to witness it and cheer me on. It was an incredible feeling. I had no fear. Maybe that was the party favors. It was great to just do it and not think about it. I guess I had pictured it a bit differently but when it's the right time, it's ...

Two days ago I sat down to write about that question. Although I still dont have the perfect answer I do know a couple of things. One is that I am not a cookie cutter kinda guy. I told my advisor that the other day in a meeting with him that most likely amounts to my professional suicide by his account. I also told him that I don't want to kiss anyone's ass just to get tenure! After many years of hard work getting a Ph.D I am now supposed to go work with a group of people and get hazed f...

I had a wild experience yesterday. I was walking down 6th Avenue toward Puppet Works to work on my mask that I created for the All Souls Procession and a song came to me. I just began to sing it in my head. It's about Singing your life in color. Later that night I was experiencing a mystical time with a few friends and music just began to flow out of me. But it was even more intense when I discovered that it was coming from some place other than my head. It clicked! I had recently expi...

about me
Some might consider me strange. What does strange mean? It really means some one or some thing that is not ordinary or normal (i.e., doesn't follow the normative standard of the social situation at hand). Well if that is the case, yes I am strange! Why should I just go along and try to fit into the world that is presented to me? I have done that for a while and I have found that there isn't anything really beneficial about being normal. I am a believer in questioning it all. I am pretty down to earth guy though. I guess you could say I am a relativist because I believe that there are no true absolutes but at the same time I have personal convictions and I believe everyone should have them and be able to express them without disrespecting others. In the same vain, I dislike being disrespected. I truly believe that all of us are equal but at the same time I understand that behaviors are not.

What is the meaning of Life?
Ask him and you will not be dissappointed. After a short amount of time in his presence, it becomes very clear that Life is his own man. His wit and charm are but calling cards to a profound mind and soulful freewill. He is a can opener of minds, ask and you shall recieve...
