<div>i last walked the circle at phoenix fire almost 2 weeks ago and yet the embers in my heart are still burning fiercely. so many lessons, so many smiles, so many connections, so many chants, so many revolutions, so many so much.

i've been waiting to post anything about this most sacred experience because i am still synthesizing it, not just analyzing it but truly it feels like a transformation on a cellular level. i've been going through my daily daze with a different stride and a different voice in my throat. i have always respected &amp; understood the profound effect of music. however what i never knew or experienced before was how much just one song can completely alter me.

since the first time i heard this chant i was mesmerized. it stuck with me and pried open my third eye to reveal incredible beauty. i've heard it a few times since that first time but i never really *heard* it until Phoenix Fire.. what is this chant you ask? ask anyone on the list, they'll tell you.

Nothin' Gonna Take My Love From Me by Wendy Colonna (http://www.wendycolonna.com/)

I'm going to post the lyrics here for you to savor.

Nothing gonna take my love from me, no no
Nothing gonna take my love from me no no
Nothing gonna take my love from me
Not fear not greed not jealousy
Nothing gonna take my love from me no no

May my eyes be bright and may my heart be light
May my hands be filled with grace
When the shadows fall let me light them all
Let me smile in trouble’s face

I am love
In truth I taste love
Inspired I breathe I breathe love
On fire my ego
Exhales and lets go
I . . Am. Love

May I stand long in suffering’s wind strong
May I root and spread my wings
May I swim in seas of forgiveness
May my body always sing

May I sew the seeds of generosity
May I dance and laugh in stride
May my mind be stilled with Humility
And surrender all my pride</div>

    </a>
										<div>Thank You Duke Leto... this song is on repeat on my shuffle today. much gratitude &amp; love -essie

One day I went walkin’ down a lonesome road
And I came upon a stranger is some funky clothes
He said he was a soldier
I said, where’s your gun
He said, I don’t got no weapon and I don’t need one
I don’t need no weapon cause I don’t fight no war.
I said, well than, mister soldier, what you fighting for
Well he didn’t say nothin’
He just smiled at me
And then I heard him whisper
You shall be free.

Well excuse me mister
Are you sayin’ I ain’t free?
Well I don’t see no shackles or no chains on me
He said, we’re chained to our hatred
and shackled by greed
Too blind to see the wonder and they mystery
We got to love one another
Give our love so strong.
Love your brother man even when he treats you wrong
And when you love without limits
Unconditionally
When you love without fear
Then you shall be free

So I pried my heart open
As wide as the sea
And the strangest sensations came over me
I could see the clouds dancing
Felt a raindrop sting
I could hear the tiny feet and all the butterfly wings
As I sat in the middle
I felt this love unfold
Love too big for this body to hold
That day I became a warrior
With no enemy
Now I am that funky soldier and I shall be free

Now I ain’t afraid of living
And I ain’t scared to die
Cause I feel this vibration that I can’t deny
I can feel it singing through me
Like a symphony
And it tastes so sweet like destiny
It’s in everything I touch
Everything I see
It’s in every single fiber in my body
Every star
Every creature
Every leaf on every tree
Is a lesson and a blessing and we shall be free
I shall
I shall be free

    </a>
										<div>ok so maybe it is just me or maybe others have had this happen to them too.

you go to whole foods, you load up your basket or cart will kinds of yummy treats and delicious delectables. you are arrive at the checkout, with your own bag in hand - look at you what a good samaritan you are! the cashier scans your items. you hand over a good portion of your paycheck to purchase the amazing delights you've unearthed in their aisles. it is in this moment, this very moment when the cashier turns to you, meets your gaze over the checkout out screen, smiles sweetly and asks you,

"would you like to donate to a charity or would you care for a bag refund?"

it seems innocuous it really does but doesn't the fact that i remembered to bring my own bag count for something? no it doesn't. i don't want to be assualted with a moral choice at the checkout. if i'm having a bad day and have just loaded up on rare and overpriced chocolate i don't want to have to make a decision to be a good person and donate or be a selfish miser and take the bag refund. or if i'm being good and buying only organically grown air that was harvested under fair trade conditions why should i have to make yet another decision about this kind of thing?

why can't i just make my purchase? i hate feeling like an unwilling lab rat in social science experiement, where a team of hidden anthropologists are furiously taking notes on my mannerisms as i decide whetehr or not to give my bag credit to a kid without shoes or keep the measly $.05 for my own scrooge-like desires.

i've looked on their corporate website and they aren't even keeping a running tally of how much people are contributing! so why continue to pester us at checkout if they won't even give out the info of what they've collected thus far.</div>

Janus presents: Molten Desire: Hot Wax Play with Sage

Thursday, June 28th, at SF Citadel, 1277 Mission Street
Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; class begins at 8:00 pm until 10:00 pm

Cost: $5 for members of Janus and reciprocal organizations, $15 otherwise.

Those tiny unexpected droplets of liquid fire can set the stage for one of the hottest scenes imaginable. The combination of fire and wax,
have the power to enliven the flesh, making it dance while making your bottom sing. And for the extra sadistic rush, you can trip their senses with the addition of ice. There are as many ways to use hot wax on your bottom as there are sizes and shapes of candles.

Discover ways to heighten the intensity of the play with the element of surprise. Learn about different types of candles and how each will
react when their wax meets human flesh. Small candles or big, each offers a new array of pain and pleasure. But hot wax goes far beyond
just the use of candles. It can be poured on in large dollops, combined with ice, and painted on with brushes and fingertips. Your bottom can become a living, breathing piece of art.

And then there is the addition of knife play for that extra special ending.

Discover many of the tricks to utilizing the wonderful fiery hot properties of molten wax. Learn the safety guidelines, as well as the myths of what is and isn't safe. And when the learning is done, dip into the wet heat and enjoy some supervised hands-on play utilizing what you've learned.

About the Presenter:
Dyke Daddy Sage
Sage is a Northern California switch who has been playing for over eleven years. She lives in Sacramento with her vanilla partner where
she is a sixth grade teacher (yikes!). She received her BA in History and her Teaching Credential from CSU, Sacramento. While primarily a
Daddy and Dominant, Sage has also proudly, publicly, and unabashedly claimed her boy side, long before it was considered proper to do so. She has enjoyed wax from, as Joni Mitchell would say, "both sides now."

Sage has been playing and experimenting with hot wax almost as long as she's been Topping. She has spent many hours learning new tricks and ways to make hot wax a passionate sadistic tool. She has given workshops, including this one, for and at the Leathermen's Discussion Group, San Francisco; International Ms Leather 2007; Leather/Levi Weekend 2006; and for the Sacramento Valley Leathercorps. Sage was the first female member of SVL and currently serves as Sergeant-at-Arms and Education Committee Co-Chair. She is also a proud member of Exiles. Sage has also been given the honor of judging at several Sacramento leather contests including Sacramento Leather Sir/boy and Mr. Bolt Leather.

When not indulging her more prurient interests, she can be found singing and conducting the Small Difference Women's Choral Ensemble, gardening with her partner, or writing dyke porn. She is the author of three novels and numerous short stories, most with a
BDSM theme. (For more information on Sage's books check out hometown.aol.com/SageMastr/Harley.html).

The newest book by Sage - INTIMACY: A Butch Tale, is now available. Get it and her other books, HARLEY: The Story of a
Leather Dyke and Her Clan &amp; JESSE: The Story of a Leather Dyke Switch at hometown.aol.com/SageMastr/Harley.html

9 inspiring words for women

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/lightbringer/blog/d8bfb325-4bfb-48f5-84e1-a3d69bd07b4f">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/a3d/e52/a3de5293-d58a-4985-a0a9-1e7b92e95755.thumb" width="65" height="47" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>Although single words can be used in almost limitless ways, we often don't seem to have the time to think about their richness and depth. But, once we do find the inclination to reflect a little more deeply, we can find that a simple word can turn into a golden egg from which any number of pleasant emotions and possibilities can hatch.

Thinking differently about something we usually take for granted can be a marvellous way of lifting our moods. So, if you love the idea of contemplating layers of meaning, or if you simply love holding positive thoughts in your head as you go about your daily business, be sure to take a peek our hand-picked collection of thought-provoking nuggets. I think you'll find some pleasant surprises!

..::1. atmosphere::..
A positive atmosphere is welcoming, enlivening, supportive, and helpful. This applies wherever we go, whether it's at work, at home, at a party or a special event such as a wedding, in a bar or a restaurant, or even in a virtual meeting place like here on tribe. But, to get anything from a positive atmosphere, you have to be able to interact with it. In a literal sense, of course, we breathe the atmosphere. But metaphorically we can do much more than this, we can change, influence, or even create it!

Think about this power that you have next time YOU encounter an atmosphere that is not very positive. Consider what YOU could do to change that atmosphere for the better, and marvel at the results as those around you "breathe" the atmosphere you are generating by your upbeat approach and positive contribution.

If you've ever been tempted to think of yourself as worthless, open your mind to just how much value you can add to the lives of others by the atmosphere you create around you.

..::2. chocolate::..
Is chocolate good for you, or bad for you? And does the answer change if you're concerned about your weight?

There's no doubt that normal chocolate contains lots of horrid calories and enough sugar to keep your dentist rubbing his/her hands in glee, but let's not forget the good things about chocolate too. Chocolate is a treat, and the occasional treat - in moderate quantity - is no bad thing at all if we feel we deserve it. The key is to avoid the extremes.

If you love chocolate but deny yourself any of it, then you're going to feel pretty stressed every time one of those commercials pops up on the TV. On the other hand, if you just gave way and ate as much chocolate as you'd like, well - I don't really need to finish that sentence, do I?

Unless you're allergic to its components, the odd small square of chocolate will not do you any harm. And it can be a useful little reward for accomplishing something you've set your mind to achieve. Like losing 2lbs of weight, for example.

..::3. courage::..
How would you define a courageous woman? Is she somebody who can sail single-handedly around the world, or maybe someone who can battle with a dreadful illness while remaining upbeat and optimistic about her future? Well, while I'd agree that each of those examples would certainly indicate that the woman concerned was courageous, I prefer to define a woman's courage in a simpler, and more general way.

A courageous woman goes about her daily life relishing new experiences that make her feel nervous but not scared. She is willing to reach outside her comfort zone, pushing beyond her instinctive desire to be warm, comfortable, and safe and seeking instead to feel vibrant and alive in the wonderful world around her.

On the other hand, a woman who lacks courage will feel nervous all the time, irrespective of whether she is doing something new and challenging or not. When faced with a potentially painful situation (a conflict, an injustice, a stroke of ill-fortune) a courageous woman says to herself "I can handle it" whereas a woman who lacks courage will crumple and say "Oh, poor me, I can't cope!"

Which sort of woman would you rather be?

If you want to believe, deep down inside yourself, that you have courage, wake up each day and say to yourself: "I can handle whatever comes my way today!" Then your self-esteem will soar, and you will be a heroine indeed.

..::4. gentle::..
Is it my imagination, or do we hear this word used less and less often these days? In our hurried lives, with so many demands on our time, perhaps we have somehow lost sight of the value of being gentle with others or with ourselves. And many of us have certainly forgotten how to be gentle with our own bodies, even though they do so much for us.

I think it's a lovely word. Say it quietly to yourself and see how it feels. It's another wonder of the English language that the expression of the word itself seems soft and caring, not harsh or abrupt like, well ... "harsh" or "abrupt".

Next time you feel stressed out about something, or when you next dislike your body for not being what you want it to be, think of this word. Savour it. Use it to change your emotions. Say it slowly under your breath, accentuating each of the syllables. And be gen-tle on yourself.

..::5. tenderness::..
If you were to try to think of this word in a context, my hunch is that the first situation that would spring into your mind would be one of calmness and tranquillity. So let's force ourselves to think differently for a moment, and consider how useful tenderness could be if you're in a situation of disagreement or potential conflict.

Next time something agitates you, try to look for the real motivation behind the actions of the person who is irritating you. If you have some affection for that person that has been built up over a period of time, don't let it get over-ridden in the heat of the moment. Concentrate on the tenderness that you feel deep inside you, and you'll make better decisions as a result.

..::6. hope::..
Feeling hopeful about an outcome whilst doing something proactive to increase the chance of making it happen is great - it gives you a lovely sense of optimism and an enthusiasm for making progress.

But hope on its own is often worse than useless. If you simply hope that something good will happen to you, you begin to accept that your life is completely out of your own control, that you are under the spell of others and at the mercy of your luck. There is probably no quicker way than this to lose self-esteem and begin the slide towards depression and despair.

Try to use hope only in the optimistic, enthusiastic, and active sense that I have described. Challenge yourself every time the word pops into your mind, and on every occasion pause to link a positive action to the hope that you've expressed. Remember, without action your hope carries no value and does not deserve your attention.

..::7. how::..
"How" is such a useful word. It can be used in abundance! It discourages us from wallowing in self-pity, believing that life is hopeless and from giving up on our dreams. It also encourages us to look beyond our noses, open our minds to new possibilities, tap into our inquisitive nature, explore situations from different angles, seek help and support from others and generally find better solutions to life's tricky problems.

Try asking yourself "how" questions every day and let the word take you on a personal journey of self-discovery. Keep on going!

..::8. joy ::..
It's a small word, and it's difficult to find sometimes. Many of us hope that joy will somehow find us on its own, but it won't. The only way to find it is to open your heart and look for it, because joy will often be close enough for you to reach out and touch, but it may melt back into the shadows unless you make it feel welcome by nurturing and treasuring it as part of your world!

So here's a challenge: hold the thought of joy in your mind when you wake each morning, and look for it carefully throughout your day. If this feels too hard at first, get yourself in the mood by recalling past joys that can lift your spirits. When you've tapped into some joy, try to share it with a friend, or even take a few moments to share your unique moment of joy with someone close to you or even here ;-)

..::9. merit::..

When was the last time you heard this simple and unpretentious little word?

I wouldn't mind betting that very few of you could remember hearing it in the last week, or even the last month. But here's a harder question: when was the last time you called upon the concept of merit to help you make a decision, or to shape your actions?

Some words are intrinsically powerful, and deserve our respect. Truth and justice are two that spring into my mind right away. But even these two giants would struggle to inspire us if we lack the merit to appreciate them for what they are.

My dictionary tells me that merit is a claim to excellence, or a commendable quality in something. I can't help thinking there's more to it than that. My car has a central-locking device, which is a commendable quality in a vehicle that's left unattended at night, but I've never thought of my car as having much merit - I don't even like it!

I prefer to think of merit as a particularly human attribute: the ability to figure out and act upon "higher values". Higher values recognise the fundamental concepts of truth, and right and wrong.

Look for merit around you and, when you find it, do your best to nurture it and encourage it. Have the courage to speak out and support it, because your help matters to its survival. And, most of all, look for merit within yourself and use it to the very best of your ability.

The world will thank you for it.

    </a>
										<div>my Daddy threw me a party on Saturday that is one of the bestest and happiest birthdays of my whole (_ _) # of years on this spinning earth. so many wonderful people who came and gave me love and food, sweet thoughts and sweeter hugs, plus birthday spankings!

it was a delightful day with so much to be grateful for...the whole day i was enveloped in a delicious purple, violet flame - the flame of change - turning negativity into positivity. my understanding of standing in the purple flame is that it allows us to alter our emotional experience, physically letting go of pent up emotions and energy that prevent us from growing spiritually.

on the altar at my birthday, the south (fire) was symbolized by unlit birthday candles and incense. however the spark and pulse of the fire was there throughout the day, inside of my heart there was an enormous burning bonfire. Daddy created a safe space where i could focus on the possibilties and hopes that i want to create in my life. i even checked the little cauldron and i saw a whole bunch of loveliness brewing inside. even though it was a cold day, with the sun making his appearance late in the day, i was warm inside - held by friendship and love.

you can read more about thismagnificent process here: http://www.dailyom.com/articles/2007/8458.html. i've read other descriptions of this meditation process but i've found this description to be the best thus far.

thank you Daddy for my wonderful day and the space to evolve.</div>

										<div>my company had a team day a week ago. they asked me to put together an activity that was both fun and focused on team building etc. so i hired a sushi chef to come in and teach us how to make sushi and speak japanese. We were split into 2 teams and then released to create fabulous rolls of our own creation. the sushi chefs then taste tested our rolls and judged us on taste, presentation and originality.

..::my team won::..

the photo here is of the winning rolls!!!

it was a fantastic 2 hours and the cost was really competitive considering how much stuff they brought in (tuna, shrimp, eel, mango, avocado, 2 huge bowls of rice, roe, etc) if you're looking for a fun party idea or team building thing let me know and i'll pass along their info.

    </a>
										<div>last weekend my SFSI training ended

this weekend the beginning of my future opened with an intense conversation with my Daddy

i was in the middle yesterday walking down the middle of the road.

then i got adbucted and smuggled down into the gulley next to the road by several large and freakish fears. i woke up in their clutches this morning. i found myself writhing in pain and agony. i've seen these bullies before but damn they are good, they got me right down off the road and into the ditch super fly fast.

i am sad that SFSI is over. it took precious time away from other important people and activities but i really enjoyed the class and getting to know the others in my class - what an incredibly terrific group of sex educators! i wish i had been taught about sex by anyone from the class. i liked and will miss the ritual of getting up early on weekends and devoting my time to learning and talking more about sex all day.

the beginning of my future is terrifying and the thugs in the ditch are crafty waiting for me to become vulnerable to attack again. the power of the future though is undeniable and the allure behind the fear is definitely there. to what extent i do not know, i only know that maybe there is a beginning of a new frame of life, a honest to goodness new perspective not just talk or frivolous analysis, real live action towards a more satisfying life.

now to get some new bodyguards</div>

Bunny Dieting &amp; Bikini Bootcamp

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/lightbringer/blog/9da85558-0e2f-4729-86bc-765615811489">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/9ee/cbe/9eecbef5-6fc5-4dab-8979-e640da0bebe6.thumb" width="65" height="52" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>so in these days of pre-summer excitement, when we're feeling the fabulous frisky effects of more sun, longer days and hotter nights the emphasis on our bodies starts escalating. wherever i look these days i'm seeing lots of the usual "look great in a bikini with no work advertisements." these personally drive me nuts as there is absolutely *NO WAY* you can look great in a bikni or naked without spending at least some time working out and choosing your food carefully. more importantly though i don't necessarily *want* to look like those women in bikinis prancing around the checkstands in Safeway. i'd prefer to look a bit healthier and at least like i've eaten something in the past 5 days.

however there are tons more diets and "ways of eating" out there than ever before. i am personally surrounded by incredibly healthy people who eat well, do yoga twice a week, go for runs at lunch and are just incredibly blessed with good skin. well whatever works for them works, and what works for me is....well, i'm figuring that out.

i've been watching myself for the past few years, watching my own eating and exercise habits and i've decided that i'm not doing the bunny diet anymore. as one woman recently said, "I tried the [Bunny Diet]. Its a lot of cabbage, carrots and CHEWING! I don't know why I was doing the Bunny Diet... bunnies aren't really all that slim anyway!" You can only burn so many calories by chewing. You can only be sustained by so much roughage.

i'm saying no to bunnies, to pre-formed ideas of what "beautiful" is and to the terrifying idea of Bikini Bootcamp.</div>

    </a>
										<div>THE SNAKE
Words &amp; Music: Oscar Brown, Jr., 1966

ON HER WAY TO WORK ONE MORNING
DOWN THE PATH ‘LONG SIDE THE LAKE,
A TENDER HEARTED WOMAN
SAW A POOR HALF FROZEN SNAKE.

HIS PRETTY COLORED SKIN
HAD BEEN ALL FROSTED WITH THE DEW,
“POOR THING!,” SHE CRIED,
“I’LL TAKE YOU IN, AND I’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU.”

“TAKE ME IN, TENDER WOMAN,
TAKE ME IN FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE,
TAKE ME IN, TENDER WOMAN.”
SIGHED THE SNAKE.

SHE WRAPPED HIM UP ALL COZY
IN A COMFORTER OF SILK,
AND SHE LAID HIM BY HER FIRESIDE
WITH SOME HONEY AND SOME MILK.

SHE HURRIED HOME FROM WORK THAT NIGHT
AND SOON AS SHE ARRIVED,
SHE FOUND THAT PRETTY SNAKE SHE’D TAKEN IN
HAD BEEN REVIVED.

“TAKE ME IN, TENDER WOMAN,
TAKE ME IN FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE,
TAKE ME IN, TENDER WOMAN.”
SIGHED THE SNAKE.

SHE CLUTCHED HIM TO HER BOSOM,
“YOU’RE SO BEAUTIFUL!,” SHE CRIED.
“BUT IF I HADN’T BROUGHT YOU IN
BY NOW YOU MIGHT HAVE DIED.”

SHE STROKED HIS PRETTY SKIN AGAIN
AND KISSED AND HELD HIM TIGHT,
INSTEAD OF SAYING “THANKS,”
THE SNAKE GAVE HER A VICIOUS BITE.

“TAKE ME IN, TENDER WOMAN,
TAKE ME IN FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE,
TAKE ME IN, TENDER WOMAN.”
SIGHED THE SNAKE.

“I SAVED YOU!,” CRIED THE WOMAN,
“AND YOU’VE BITTEN ME, BUT WHY?
YOU KNOW YOUR BITE IS POISONOUS,
AND NOW I’M GOING TO DIE!”

“AW, SHUT UP, SILLY WOMAN.”
SAID THE REPTILE WITH A GRIN,
“YOU KNEW DAMN WELL I WAS A SNAKE
BEFORE YOU TOOK ME IN.”

“TAKE ME IN, TENDER WOMAN,
TAKE ME IN FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE,
TAKE ME IN, TENDER WOMAN.”
SIGHED THE SNAKE.</div>

    </a>
										<div>Flying Home
Free Of Gravity

As earthbound beings, humans have always had a fascination with winged creatures of all kinds. The idea of being able to spontaneously lift off from the earth and fly is so compelling to us that we invented airplanes and helicopters and myriad other flying machines in order to provide ourselves with the many gifts of being airborne. Flying high in the sky, we look down on the earth that is our home and see things from an entirely different perspective. We can see more, and we can see farther than we can when we're on the ground. As if all this weren't enough, the out-of-this-world feeling of freedom that comes with groundlessness inspires us to want to take flight again and again.

Metaphorically, we take flight whenever we break free of the gravity that holds us to a particular way of thinking or feeling or being. We take flight mentally when we rise above our habitual ways of thinking about things and experience new insights. This is what it means to open our minds. Emotionally, we take flight when the strength of our passion exceeds the strength of our blockages; the floodgates open and we are free to feel fully. Spiritually we take flight when we locate that part of ourselves that is beyond the constraint of linear time and the world of form. It is in this place that we experience the essential boundlessness that defines the experience of flight.

Taking flight is always about freeing ourselves from form, if only temporarily. When we literally fly, in a plane or on a hang glider, we free ourselves from the strength of gravity's pull. As we open our minds and our hearts, we free ourselves from habitual patterns of thought and emotional blockages. As we remember our true nature, we free ourselves from identification with the temporary state of our physical forms. The more we stretch our wings, the clearer it becomes that taking flight is a state of grace that simply reminds us of who we really are.

…”AND THEN HE SAID …”
HAZEL DIPS ME MY SOUP,
SERVES ME MY CUP OF TEA,
MY HEART FLIPS WHEN I SEE
HAZEL SMILIN’ AT ME;

SO I SAY, ‘HONEYBUNCH,
CAN’T I HAVE YOU FOR LUNCH?’
BUT HAZEL JUST GIVES ME A HUNCH.
DON’T YOU HAND ME NO LINE
‘BOUT YOU THINK I’M SO FINE,
HERE’S A TIP,
HAZEL’S HIP!

outdoing myself

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/lightbringer/blog/144f1a13-f6c8-494a-ab49-38ce4b4f5880">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/8eb/542/8eb54237-50f9-4b80-8072-e15c466fb24e.thumb" width="65" height="66" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>"The best inspiration is not to outdo others, but to outdo ourselves. - Anonymous"

I like to win. So does pretty much everyone else in the world - no one likes to lose. Especially when you win against a worthwhile challenger. I find myself in competition with a lot of people who don't even know that they're in competition with me, boy I am one really scary unseen adversary. &amp;lt;chuckle>

In the last year, i met the biggest toughest most brilliant opponent ever, ME.

She is tough, she knows all of my tricks, knows my strategies, knows my counter-tactics and my weaknesses. Ah yes, my weeknesses, my fears, shames, denied desires and ickly prickly truths. Beating her in a game, any game has become more or less a goal of mine since i first really encountered her. We live in a highly competitive world, and everything around us screams that we've got to be number one in order to feel successful.

So I scored on her this weekend - big time. I took a huge fear, a shameful prickly carefully guarded spot on my heart and exposed it to someone. This person, this love, looked at it and smiled. No judgment, no shaming... just safety, love and compassion. I won. I won a match against her. This game is now changing and I am on the scoreboard.

The best measuring sticks is my own... I outdid myself and raised my own bar of performance. </div>

										<div>Every year in Liberal, Kansas they celebrate this momentous day!

Other quirky bits about Liberal, Kansas:
Home to Dorothy's House from the Wizard of Oz. // http://www.sewardcountymuseum.com/sections/dorothy/index.html
I spent 2 nights there in 1997 when I went on my own great American road trip

Here is my prescription for all of you on this fine day:
Eat a pancake
Avoid women running with hot griddles
Kiss the bell ringer (for whom the bell tolls, life ain't bad on pancake day)
And hum "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" between mouthfuls of syprupy, buttery, carb-a-licious goodness
