I was born in 1938. I was raised in three separate families, went to 19 schools, lived in 68 residences, been busted twice, visited 15 countries, been married and divorced three times, fathered four children, been an artist/musician since my early 20s, had more “day jobs than I care to talk about and survived cancer four separate times.
I’m as comfortable in a boardroom as I am on a 12 man chain. I’m a incongruous conglomeration of old school greaser/hot-rodder, continental bon-vivant, hard-core hippie, biker wannabe, intellectual gangsta, social renegade, Alpha male, political monkey-wrencher, polyamorous devotee, BDSM aficianado, beatnik low-rider and neolithic pagan…..a package that almost always insures that I will do or say exactly the right thing at the most awkward and inappropriate time. I love passionately, do NOT suffer artifice lightly, am loyal to a fault, quickly tire of mediocrity and love to play. I place high value on my family and loved ones. I spend much of my time collaborating with other creative souls making arousing music and catalytic photography. I explore this subject through the dynamics of social taboo, gender issues, personal expression, private ritual and more. Every shoot seeks to examine these issues through the individual perspective unique to that particular subject. I consider each shoot to be a singular life event during which I seek to find the resonance unique to both the subject and myself. I shoot both in-studio and on location. I work with both male and female in a collaborative, boundary sensitive and non-judgmental manner. …an OPEN HOUSE WARMING to fill my new home with your energy. The pictures are hung, the shelf paper is in and and my front door is open to receive you . It's time to share the new space with all of my friends and loved ones who've played a role in bringing me to this place in my life. It's a celebration of beautiful diverse people, ample noshing and eclectic talent Musicians, poets, fire dancers, entertainers, exhibitionists of all stripes are welcome and encouraged to share their talents. Call it a jam or a throw-down. Spontaneity and improvisation are the rules of the day. Bring your own back-line and instruments. There will be a full P.A. system available. On Wednesday, March 16, I need an open pickup (no canopy) and some help to move one load of things to my storage. It looks like about 2 hours to accomplish...start-to-finish. It's not a lot of stuff. Just a few larger things that are too much for me and my tiny van to handle.

WRONG! I just moved into number SIXTY-FUCKING-SEVEN. It's been an exercise in trimming the load of possessions. Going through a lifetime's worth of crap trying to decide what I need, what I enjoy and what I just plain can't part with. I stripped my music gear down to only what I play now. I unloaded a buttload of photo props that once lined my 1100s/f studio walls. I angst-ed over a lifetime collection of other artist's work...piece's of beauty that inspire or comfort me in some way. I am torn about the immense stash of family heirlooms. I wanna know how this black sheep, "drug crazed" hippie wound up with the spotty history of my family. As a young military kid, I moved a lot and developed an unconscious habit of making a space my own, even if for only a few days. I think it made me feel "at home" even though it wasn't true. That's where I am today...unpacking boxes and organizing my new home. A place to live, play and work. I think it's gonna be pretty cool.
