DAVID is one of the most creative people I have honor to call dear friend. It wasn’t good luck when I met him that day, because I’m Irish, it was destiny.

about me
I was born in 1938. I was raised in three separate families, went to 17 schools, lived in 66 residences, been busted twice, visited 15 countries, been married three times, fathered four children, been an artist/musician since my early 20s, had more “day jobs than I care to talk about and survived cancer four separate times.

I’m as comfortable in a boardroom as I am on a 12 man chain. I’m a incongruous conglomeration of old school greaser/hot-rodder, continental bon-vivant, hard-core hippie, biker wannabe, intellectual gangsta, social renegade, political monkey-wrencher, polyamorous devotee, BDSM practitioner, beatnik low-rider and spiritual explorer…..a package that almost always insures that I will do or say exactly the right thing at the most awkward and inappropriate time.

I love passionately, do NOT suffer artifice lightly, am loyal to a fault, quickly tire of mediocrity and love to play.

I place high value on my family and loved ones. I spend much of my time collaborating with other creative souls making arousing music and catalytic photography.

About my photography:

I have been doing fine art photography professionally since 1982. I shoot, primarily, in-studio but sometimes work on location. The overall theme of my work is The Essential Feminine. I explore this subject through the dynamics of social taboo, gender issues, personal expression, private ritual and more. Every shoot seeks to examine these issues through the individual perspective unique to that particular subject. I consider each shoot to be a singular life event during which I seek to find the resonance unique to both the subject and myself. I work with both male and female in a collaborative, boundary sensitive and non-judgemental manner.

For what it's worth

Tomorrow morning at 6AM, I go in for a discectomy and cervical (C6-7) anterior fusion. My hands and feet have very little feeling left. Not good for drumming or naughty play. :-(

They say it's no big deal so all should be well. It's about a 2-3 hour procedure. Send me psychic shouts. I love y'all.

Let my name stand among those who are willing to bear ridicule and reproach for the truth's sake, and so earn some right to rejoice when the victory is won.

Well, to be perfectly clear, they are more than "mine" They are the combined efforts of myself on drums, percussion and vocals, David White on synth and some sensational, real-life performance audio by the woman known simply as TZ.

ODETTE is a suite of five songs in a variety of genres but held together with what we believe to be a cogent, original sound.

Go to www.myspace.com/uberdavidx and have a listen. Add us as your friends so you can stop back as you wish and see what other sounds we've conjured.

Comments and kudos? We love 'em!

The old homestead is on the block for sale. 6500s/f of versatile space and 5000s/f of gardens. I've lived here longer than any one place in my life. It's been a helluva ride. There's been a lot of art and music made here. I can feel it when I walk through it now. Many of you will recognize places you've collaborated on art and music projects. I'm going to miss it but it's time to downsize and move on.

If anyone wants to live "the lifestyle", here's the place to do it.

Many heartfelt thanks to all of you who attended my opening at The Conservatory last night. The evening was a success at so many levels. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and especially gratifying to meet new people. Thematically, the venue couldn't have more perfect. Again, thanks to MsJulieSpanks for hosting the event. Only she could create a dungeon that feels both warm and inviting to a wide variety of people. (Architectural Digest take note!).

I look forward to working with those people who stepped forward to suggest creating art together. Your trust is quite valuable to me.

This is just an informal reminder that my photography show, "Evolution Of A Vision", opens tomorrow night (7PM to 11PM) at The Conservatory, 5224 S.E. Foster Road. The show tracks my work from 1959 until the present revealing my personal journey through sexuality, control exchange and exploration of our senses. I appreciate your friendship and support. See you there!
