Please Send Healing Rainbows!

Tomorrow morning at 6AM, I go in for a discectomy and cervical (C6-7) anterior fusion. My hands and feet have very little feeling left. Not good for drumming or naughty play. :-(

They say it's no big deal so all should be well. It's about a 2-3 hour procedure. Send me psychic shouts. I love y'all.

Worth a Read

Let my name stand among those who are willing to bear ridicule and reproach for the truth's sake, and so earn some right to rejoice when the victory is won.

Pimpin' mah tunes

Well, to be perfectly clear, they are more than "mine" They are the combined efforts of myself on drums, percussion and vocals, David White on synth and some sensational, real-life performance audio by the woman known simply as TZ.

ODETTE is a suite of five songs in a variety of genres but held together with what we believe to be a cogent, original sound.

Go to www.myspace.com/uberdavidx and have a listen. Add us as your friends so you can stop back as you wish and see what other sounds we've conjured.

Comments and kudos? We love 'em!

ANOTHER ERA GOING BY

The old homestead is on the block for sale. 6500s/f of versatile space and 5000s/f of gardens. I've lived here longer than any one place in my life. It's been a helluva ride. There's been a lot of art and music made here. I can feel it when I walk through it now. Many of you will recognize places you've collaborated on art and music projects. I'm going to miss it but it's time to downsize and move on.

If anyone wants to live "the lifestyle", here's the place to do it.

THANK YOU ALL

Many heartfelt thanks to all of you who attended my opening at The Conservatory last night. The evening was a success at so many levels. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and especially gratifying to meet new people. Thematically, the venue couldn't have more perfect. Again, thanks to MsJulieSpanks for hosting the event. Only she could create a dungeon that feels both warm and inviting to a wide variety of people. (Architectural Digest take note!).

I look forward to working with those people who stepped forward to suggest creating art together. Your trust is quite valuable to me.

From the artist:

"Evolution of a Vision" ...by David Rolin

This exhibit is a visual narrative of my personal evolution and growing consciousness of the powerful trilogy of sexuality, control exchange and sensation play. It begins with the unconscious expressions of a young man in the 50s and brings us up-to-date with my new millenium voice. I've designed and built custom cars, written and performed music, created sculpture, single edition jewelry and, for the past 25 years, erotic photography. Each medium has revealed an increasingly explicit account addressing my personal, feral, sexual self. Each examines and celebrates both the light and dark side of our personas. I hope that the images provide a catalyst explore our individual edge.

Bio -
I've been an artist and musician for over 50 years. I'm a veteran of nearly eighty visual art shows and exhibits. Much of my work is now held in public and private collections. I have devoted my primary efforts since 1982 to fine art photography. I work in a very collaborative mode in order to examine the dynamics of social taboo, gender issues, personal expression and private ritual unique to each individual. Their courage to share of themselves brings an element of authenticity to the images that only truth can provide.

Prints will be available for purchase - plain, mounted, or framed. They will all be signed.

If you wish to set up a photo shoot with David, please contact him directly. Not only does he take the photos - he does all of his own scheduling for shoots in his super fantastic studio.

Please note it is not necessary to send an RSVP to attend. And also note, this is not a play party. It is a safe and comfortable space for you to study some beautiful photography, socialize with interesting others, discuss the edgy images, and meet the artist - Mr David Rolin.

Thank you so much.
I hope to see you at the Mixer. You may now return to your regularly scheduled perversions.

Julie

Ever had chickenpox? READ THIS SHIT!

Herpes zoster (or simply zoster), commonly known as shingles, is a viral disease characterized by a painful skin rash with blisters in a limited area on one side of the body, often in a stripe. The initial infection with varicella zoster virus (VZV) causes the acute (short-lived) illness chickenpox, and generally occurs in children and young people. Once an episode of chickenpox has resolved, the virus is not eliminated from the body but can go on to cause shingles—an illness with very different symptoms—often many years after the initial infection.
Varicella zoster virus can become latent in the nerve cell bodies and less frequently in non-neuronal satellite cells of dorsal root, cranial nerve or autonomic ganglion,[1] without causing any symptoms.[2] In an immunocompromised individual, perhaps years or decades after a chickenpox infection, the virus may break out of nerve cell bodies and travel down nerve axons to cause viral infection of the skin in the region of the nerve. The virus may spread from one or more ganglia along nerves of an affected segment and infect the corresponding dermatome (an area of skin supplied by one spinal nerve) causing a painful rash.[3][4] Although the rash usually heals within two to four weeks, some sufferers experience residual nerve pain for months or years, a condition called postherpetic neuralgia. Exactly how the virus remains latent in the body, and subsequently re-activates is not understood.[1]

AND THE SOMEWHAT BETTER NEWS IS:
A live vaccine for VZV exists, marketed as Zostavax. In a 2005 study of 38,000 older adults it prevented half the cases of herpes zoster and reduced the number of cases of postherpetic neuralgia by two-thirds

...and yeah, that IS my head. This is the worst I have felt since I was on chemo. This is some mean shit.
