<div>The old homestead is on the block for sale. 6500s/f of versatile space and 5000s/f of gardens. I've lived here longer than any one place in my life. It's been a helluva ride. There's been a lot of art and music made here. I can feel it when I walk through it now. Many of you will recognize places you've collaborated on art and music projects. <div>Many heartfelt thanks to all of you who attended my opening at The Conservatory last night. The evening was a success at so many levels. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and especially gratifying to meet new people. Thematically, the venue couldn't have more perfect. Again, thanks to MsJulieSpanks for hosting the event. Only she could create a dungeon that feels both warm and inviting to a wide variety of people. (Architectural Digest take note!).

I look forward to working with those people who stepped forward to suggest creating art together. Your trust is quite valuable to me.

"Evolution of a Vision" ...by David Rolin

This exhibit is a visual narrative of my personal evolution and growing consciousness of the powerful trilogy of sexuality, control exchange and sensation play. It begins with the unconscious expressions of a young man in the 50s and brings us up-to-date with my new millenium voice. I've designed and built custom cars, written and performed music, created sculpture, single edition jewelry and, for the past 25 years, erotic photography. Each medium has revealed an increasingly explicit account addressing my personal, feral, sexual self. Each examines and celebrates both the light and dark side of our personas. I hope that the images provide a catalyst explore our individual edge.

Bio -
I've been an artist and musician for over 50 years. I'm a veteran of nearly eighty visual art shows and exhibits. Much of my work is now held in public and private collections. I have devoted my primary efforts since 1982 to fine art photography. I work in a very collaborative mode in order to examine the dynamics of social taboo, gender issues, personal expression and private ritual unique to each individual. Their courage to share of themselves brings an element of authenticity to the images that only truth can provide.

For David's profile including a bevy of tantalizing photographs, please click here. http://fetlife.com/users/37202

Prints will be available for purchase - plain, mounted, or framed. They will all be signed.

If you wish to set up a photo shoot with David, please contact him directly. Not only does he take the photos - he does all of his own scheduling for shoots in his super fantastic studio.

Please note it is not necessary to send an RSVP to attend. And also note, this is not a play party. It is a safe and comfortable space for you to study some beautiful photography, socialize with interesting others, discuss the edgy images, and meet the artist - Mr David Rolin.

Thank you so much.
I hope to see you at the Mixer. You may now return to your regularly scheduled perversions.

    </a>
<div>Herpes zoster (or simply zoster), commonly known as shingles, is a viral disease characterized by a painful skin rash with blisters in a limited area on one side of the body, often in a stripe. The initial infection with varicella zoster virus (VZV) causes the acute (short-lived) illness chickenpox, and generally occurs in children and young people. Once an episode of chickenpox has resolved, the virus is not eliminated from the body but can go on to cause shingles—an illness with very different symptoms—often many years after the initial infection.
Varicella zoster virus can become latent in the nerve cell bodies and less frequently in non-neuronal satellite cells of dorsal root, cranial nerve or autonomic ganglion,[1] without causing any symptoms.[2] In an immunocompromised individual, perhaps years or decades after a chickenpox infection, the virus may break out of nerve cell bodies and travel down nerve axons to cause viral infection of the skin in the region of the nerve. The virus may spread from one or more ganglia along nerves of an affected segment and infect the corresponding dermatome (an area of skin supplied by one spinal nerve) causing a painful rash.[3][4] Although the rash usually heals within two to four weeks, some sufferers experience residual nerve pain for months or years, a condition called postherpetic neuralgia. Exactly how the virus remains latent in the body, and subsequently re-activates is not understood.[1]

AND THE SOMEWHAT BETTER NEWS IS:
A live vaccine for VZV exists, marketed as Zostavax. In a 2005 study of 38,000 older adults it prevented half the cases of herpes zoster and reduced the number of cases of postherpetic neuralgia by two-thirds

...and yeah, that IS my head. This is the worst I have felt since I was on chemo. This is some mean shit.

"Our Code of Conduct outlines the types of content we do not allow on the site. This includes any obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit photos, as well as any photos that depict graphic violence." It must have been this part. Dayum! My account simply vanished! POOF...in a cloud of clucking Calvinism.

If you're hangin' around FaceBook and do a search for someone named David Dashutah, that might be fun.

Meanwhile, David Rolin and his obscene, pornographic and sexually explicit photos will hang out in Tribe like the good old days.</div>

    </a>
										<div>Perhaps.

But this person, in their own words, shared what I often have trouble articulating re. my photography protocol. I'm taking the risk to publish these words:

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

David Rolins Opening: Then AND Now.

Last Night I went with my lover to see David Rolin's Then and Now retrospective. David is a human, and beautiful one. He's 69 years young, lived through the sixties when he was too old to be a hippy and too young to be a square. He saw the genesis of punk as a man grown man under the mantle of the dubious wisdom of midlife, all while I was a stripling youth too angry for ideals.

He told me he had no formal training, no education in photography. Its clear he had curiosity and passion- and maybe our real life's work requires only this, and not the trappings of achievement, degrees, publication, recognition ( or notoriety). Perhaps all we need is to be in love with what we are doing, and to do what we love. Perhaps the greatest fortune is knowing what we truly love and can be loved through.

David started this hobby of photography as a man interested in spatial relationships; in his early work the landscape of vast interiors gained his lens, warehouses, urban enclosures. At some point in the late 1980's he had the chance to work with a model. Never having embraced this opportunity, he placed her in a vast space, something he was comfortable photographing, and her presence was only slightly more incidental. In that particular image I was drawn to the texture of the wood floors more than the nude woman- somehow, despite her presence, they were what spoke loudest to me from that frame.

Still, somehow, something of the models presence stuck: perhaps the vast interior of the warehouse where she sat in a single chair became more empty with the presence of her single, nude person: a naked woman with Christmas lights glittering between her legs like the half asleep promise of a ecstasy unknown…and in that feeling of emptiness, without a catastrophe, without a flaring moment of illumination, his work began to change.

The transition was smooth if not seamless. Evolving through his years, one thing remained consistent: models would be free to do their own thing. David does not tell a model to "stand this way, wear these things, take them off this way". Instead, he says "Know your boundaries and respect mine so I can respect yours. Then let US collaborate and see what shows up…" If you were inclined to be photographed by David, and wanted to know what his boundaries are, I would suggest you ask him.

Looking at his work, hundreds of prints spanning 30 years or more, I saw few of the boundaries we might expect – neither inhibition or subtlety is failed in this retrospection of his work. Yet the boundaries are present and clear- In my own words I could sum them up, though perhaps at the risk of assumption. I would say "Be honest. Be fearless. Move from love and passion, and don't divide them." That is what I HEARD, though As I said, im simply proposing- you'd still be best to ask him if your sincere about being photographed.

I've wanted to work with David for some time, but in my own 'slow to realization' trend I've not made real the opportunity to put my own honest, fearless passionate love under the benign scrutiny of his lens. I've been distracted, and despite making motion towards engaging in a shoot, I've found circumstance and obligation have precluded the commitment. Many of my friends and some of my playmates have worked with him. After having met him, looked at hundreds of his photographs from the most innocent to explicit, I am not merely planning to put my ropes and other BDSM images in the scope of his camera, but I'm bragging him up.

And now its on my list. Im going to gather a small group of rope loving people, and tie them with delight. Im going to ask him to shoot the moments. And im going to be incredibly honored to be a part of his lifework, the creation of images of intensity and intimacy which beg us all to ask ourselves "am I squeezing every bit of joy into this moment which I am capable of?" I expect that much from my submissives, myself, and my partners in art. So let it be known: last night was one of the best art show openings I have ever been to. And I look forward to more!

Hi there Kymberly Jane

Wow! What an honor to hear from a real professional full-nudie model. We poverty stricken Oregon photographers rarely get such an opportunity. You can't imagine how overwhelmed I am at your offer to shoot "dirty pictures". Your generosity is exceeded only by your pretentiousness. I'd love to book about 30 hours of your valuable time but I don't think my studio has the capacity to contain all of your attitude.

For future reference, my commercial rates are $300/hour. Prints or digital images are $75.00 each. My fine art sessions are free, but it's obvious to me that you don't meet the criteria. As an aside, I haven't paid for a "model" in 25 years of shooting nudes. For $75.00, I expect a "happy ending", a free drink and a hot lunch.

Good luck, gurlfriend. I hope you make a bundle!

    </a>
										<div>Ah we're drinking and we're dancing
and the band is really happening
and the Johnny Walker wisdom running high
And my very sweet companion
she's the Angel of Compassion
she's rubbing half the world against her thigh
And every drinker every dancer
lifts a happy face to thank her
the fiddler fiddles something so sublime
all the women tear their blouses off
and the men they dance on the polka-dots

and it's partner found, it's partner lost
and it's hell to pay when the fiddler stops:
it's CLOSING TIME
Yeah the women tear their blouses off
and the men they dance on the polka-dots
and it's partner found, it's partner lost
and it's hell to pay when the fiddler stops:
it's CLOSING TIME

Ah we're lonely, we're romantic
and the cider's laced with acid
and the Holy Spirit's crying, "Where's the beef?"
And the moon is swimming naked
and the summer night is fragrant
with a mighty expectation of relief
So we struggle and we stagger
down the snakes and up the ladder
to the tower where the blessed hours chime
and I swear it happened just like this:
a sigh, a cry, a hungry kiss
the Gates of Love they budged an inch
I can't say much has happened since
but CLOSING TIME

I swear it happened just like this:
a sigh, a cry, a hungry kiss
the Gates of Love they budged an inch
I can't say much has happened since
CLOSING TIME

I loved you for your beauty
but that doesn't make a fool of me:
you were in it for your beauty too
and I loved you for your body
there's a voice that sounds like God to me
declaring, declaring, declaring that your body's really you
And I loved you when our love was blessed
and I love you now there's nothing left
but sorrow and a sense of overtime
and I missed you since the place got wrecked
And I just don't care what happens next
looks like freedom but it feels like death
it's something in between, I guess
it's CLOSING TIME

Yeah I missed you since the place got wrecked
By the winds of change and the weeds of sex
looks like freedom but it feels like death
it's something in between, I guess
it's CLOSING TIME

Yeah we're drinking and we're dancing
but there's nothing really happening
and the place is dead as Heaven on a Saturday night
And my very close companion
gets me fumbling gets me laughing
she's a hundred but she's wearing
something tight
and I lift my glass to the Awful Truth
which you can't reveal to the Ears of Youth
except to say it isn't worth a dime
And the whole damn place goes crazy twice
and it's once for the devil and once for Christ
but the Boss don't like these dizzy heights
we're busted in the blinding lights,
busted in the blinding lights
of CLOSING TIME

The whole damn place goes crazy twice
and it's once for the devil and once for Christ
but the Boss don't like these dizzy heights
we're busted in the blinding lights,
busted in the blinding lights
of CLOSING TIME

Oh the women tear their blouses off
and the men they dance on the polka-dots
It's CLOSING TIME
And it's partner found, it's partner lost
and it's hell to pay when the fiddler stops
It's CLOSING TIME
I swear it happened just like this:
a sigh, a cry, a hungry kiss
It's CLOSING TIME
The Gates of Love they budged an inch
I can't say much has happened since
But CLOSING TIME
I loved you when our love was blessed
I love you now there's nothing left
But CLOSING TIME
I miss you since the place got wrecked
By the winds of change and the weeds of sex.
