Today is the first day...

I start my new livelihood today. Two weeks ago I gave notice on my last part-time "day job" and yesterday was my last day.

Today, I have four jobs. Yes, that sounds ridiculous. They have to be the right four jobs. I manage a classical chorus, project manage for a jazz composer, web/print design for a mental heatlh non-profit, and, now, manage an after school program at a music school. I do a lot of things I'm familiar with along with important new challenges. Magically, they all fit together time-wise, five, ten, twenty hours a week each. More importantly, they fit together themactically.

This is the first time in a few years that I can say that I'm 100% in right livelihood.

I am so grateful for the opportunities I had, some of them hard opportunities, to see where I am, who I am, and what I need to correct for myself. This is the fruit of those opportunities.

Ha! I quit my day job!

Thank you, thank you for your well-wishes.

Oh, J.B., you'll get your good stuff. I'm certain.

I'm reminded of a phrase, you may already know. A dear friend explained it to me this way, as I recollect:

An ancient ruler, seeking wisdom from one his advisors, said "Let me something to humble me in victory and encourage me in defeat." And his advisor said, "This too shall pass."
