Still a space left! It's driving me absolutely nuts. So, I had to come back and write some more. Problem is, I have nothing to say. Sure I could just throw down something--anything--but, God, I'd bore myself to death. Yet I have no choice but to keep writing if I ever want the page to look right. So... how's the weather? And did you see the way she left the house today? And as always he cut the grass way too short. You know I don't really care, live and let live, I always say, but did you he...

I really just had to write something to fill up that damn empty space at the end of this page. I've been working on this stupid layout forever, and everytime I feel I'm close, darn, another unsightly space pops up. So, maybe if I just write a little blog entry, it'll balance out my page. I'm squeezing my buttocks and will take the plunge... SUBMIT.

So, I'm wondering: since we all got the opportunity to blog away until we can't think of one goddamn worthless thing to write down anymore, and we are given the opportunity to "comment" on each other's supposed entries, do we still need tribes? Never mind. We do. Because we all like an audience, even if it is one of secret voyeurs. Beats getting drunk and running around naked in the desert. Unless it ends up as a "Public Exposure" entry on my police record, I want no part of it.

This blasted desert put the first scratch on my new car's bumper and I'm less than happy. But, hey, the kid's at the neighbor's playing with people his own age for once, daddy's frying up some Ranchera with the neighbor (who promised me a shot of Hypnotic later on), Grandpa is whipping up some home-made chocolate ice cream (Italian!) in the kitchen, and I'm stealing some alone-time on the computer. And not to forget the dog in the backyard who's eyeing me enviously through the sliding door. W...

A blog? Now I must ask you, why the hell do I need a blog? To remind myself that narcissism is the new acceptable form of self-indulgence? Hah! Never let vanity fail me in the endeavor of convincing you that my trifling thoughts are worth splattering these pages. This is for all of you who mistakenly and aimlessly wander around these pages.

What defines grace? What defines strength? What defines human tenderness? Lily. To proclaim her abilities as a writer, editor, ballerina, linguist, mother, lover or friend is to stuff her into a small box that cannot contain this tiny body which harbors such a huge soul. One can only feel larger than life when in her presence. She makes you feel that your on the edge of greatness...even when you've failed. Lily Rocks!

Lily, my editor, my best friend, she is my Exquisite Corpse, but that’s just because she’s German and has beautifully pale skin!
This woman taught me what strength is, and what it means to just keep going and to do it, amazingly enough, with style and grace! When I met her she was a lonely ballerina dancer who lived in an apartment beneath me in L.B., and I used to listen to her sing Opera out my kitchen window on Sunday. I was in love with her then, and the love has grown like sweet citrus tree ever since. Her love has nourished me; her talented editing eyes have molded my work; she is home to me and will always be.
