So it was a 3 hour drive thru mostly sparsely populated desert (pretty much just like living in Ridgecrest). Get there, have pre-paid camping, tix at will call. Only a few hundred people is my guess. Brought firewood, but realised that fire barrels were few. Set up camp, concerned about the forecast for very heavy winds, staked everything down well. Went to get the lay of the land.
