The things I get up too!

I am curious (and no I am not pregnant) how many of you dancers recieved support from your midwife to carry on bellydancing when pregnant and how many were totally discouraged?
Put in subject line either.
Supported or not supported and in the message box i would like to know what the birth outcome was (eg normal vaginal delivery, c/secion, instrumental)
Thanks
Lindsey

CAUTION!!

• Belly dancing is normally good for your health but can be seriously addictive.

• Participants have been known to have fun, make new friends, gain self confidence and move sinuously and gracefully around stages and dance floors in glamorous middle-eastern costumes.

• Neither the very young nor pensioners are immune from the effects of this addiction.

• Those in doubt should consult their doctor before embarking on any new programme of exercise.

• Suit... read more

Most of you proberly know about my two passions, bellydance and midwifery and those of you who dont, why not?
I want to under take a research project on these two topics.

As a student midwife (hoping to graduate in March), I hopefully have up to date information and knowledge about the pregnancy side of things and as a bellydancer I understand the dance form
I have often had questions fired at me about what is safe and what is not during pregnancy, so it makes perfect sense to write a r... read more

Classes & workshops

I have been bellydancing since 1997 when I discovered a small paper clipping in a local paper. I knew in 10 minutes I had finally found what I had been looking for. My tribal journey began in 2000 when I relocated to Arizona and began dancing under the instruction of Heidi Alexander(domba), boy if I knew then what I know now I would have stayed longer. During my time in the States I began searching out other teachers and events to help broaden my dance knowledge. I have studied under the entire domba team, Terri Hardin (troupe salamat) Paulette Res denis(Gypsy caravan) Wendy Marlatt , Geneva bybee, I have also been fortunate to attend workshops with Carolena (FCBD)Kajjira (Black sheep) Suhaila samilipour(Bal anat) and more recently I have been able to attend a workshop under the guidance of Heather Stants, Rachel Lazarus Soto, Deirdre MacDonald, Ayse Cermani and Elizabeth Souza (sister hood dance collective).

about me
I began tribal bellydance after moving to the USA in 2000, and fell in love with the strength, unity, grace.....
When I moved back to the Uk I simply could not give up my passion, so I taught it, as it was the only way for me to dance this dance as no one else was teaching ATS in Scotland. Thankfully the dancers here fell in love with it too and now I have the oppertunity to dance once again. Due to the interest I went into partnership with anther dancer and we had the first tribal residential weekend at Ford castle in 2004, This proved to such a big success that we are now in the planning stage for the fitfth one!!! (check out tribes.tribe.net/tribalford )
You can now book on line at www.tribezuza-bellydancing.co.uk/d...8/
for the 2009 event, scheduled to take place May 22nd-24th.

As well as dance, you might find me at home playing with my 2 children, 1 husband, 1 bunny and gerbil. If I am not in I might be out nursing, delivering babies, at Uni researching or in Tescos shopping.

The things people say about me!!!

June 4, 2006
Wow. What can I say about Lindsey. This woman has the BIGGEST heart! Just seeing her running around looking after everyone at Ford is inspiration, let alone seeing her dance! Lindsey has suceeded where others have failed, creating a dynamic weekend of tribal dance in a prestigeous castle, which is so popular now that it sells out in weeks! We are all waiting with baited breath to hear if she'll teach next year... hint hint :)

I was so lucky to meet Lindsey---she is a beautiful dancer, teacher and incredibly generous in her giving of the dance. Lindsey continues to inspire me ----she's always abreast of whats hot on the Tribal scene, full of new and innovative Tribal ideas and always working to enhance her dance and technique. She does a smash up job on organizing Tribal Ford as well. Thank you Lindsey!!!!!!!

This women is an inspiration to anyone who believes in integrity. She is true to her word, her vision, her friends, her family, and her creativity. Her humor is one to be savored. I can't wait to see her instruct and perform in the US again.
