You Are Miss Piggy
A total princess and diva, you're totally in charge - even if people don't know it.
You want to be loved, adored, and worshiped. And you won't settle for anything less.
You're going to be a total star, and you won't let any of the "little people" get in your way.
Just remember, piggy, never eat more than you can lift!

Yippy skippy - it is over! I don't usually do this bloggy thing. But here we go... I had my exploratory surgery/appendectomy on Valentine's Day. I was apprehensive because of a) the whole "we don't know what is wrong with you thing" but since I don't know if the doctors will ever figure me out, I shouldn't let that stress me and b) my mom died during this same kind of surgery at my same age. And now, even though I still hurt, I am surrounded by cards and flowers from my friends - thank you! Everytime I look at them I smile. There is even some food in the fridge from well wishers :) I can't wait to feel better. I hope that the appendix and the adhesions the surgeon found (and got most of) were the cause of the pain) I can't wait to get off the recliner and start moving again! First I rip up my wrist last summer when I tripped over the dog - then this! Argg. I will return, gosh durn it!

RULES: Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 8 facts/things/habits about yourself, saying who tagged you. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs.
Judie tagged me!
1. I am a Leo
2. My first job was waitressing at the airport. I lasted two days.
3. I got a ticket for running a stop sign - on my bicycle.
4. I did not inherit my mother's gourmet cooking gene.
5. My eyes were green when I was born, but now are blue.
6. I do not weigh what my drivers license says I weigh.
7. My normal body temperature is 97.4
8. I buy patterns with no intention of actually making the garment - I just like collecting patterns.
I tag: Raven, Robin P, Naomi, Safira, Sick Little Monkey, and Moho!

Last night at our Lions Club meeting, a man showed a dvd he had made. He wants to send copies all around the world to our troops. It has historic clips of WW2 - starting with views of ships; then to battlefields; and finally to the famous shot of the raising of the flag. What I felt was offensive was during the whole thing, "Away in the Manger" was playing. The line "and fit us for heaven to live with you there" was when the flag was being raised. The song was the Martina McBride version. He is hoping to get her permission to use the song. I was just stunned. Since when does baby Jesus have to do with us blowing up our enemies? I felt it was saying the US was doing "God's work" or that the vets did what they did for Jesus. I would have thought it was fine with a patriotic song as the background - maybe even "I'll Be Home For Christmas." What do you all think?

She is statuesque and intelligent. A true friend in deed and in spirit. The only person I want to be stuck at the Christ of the Ozarks with. Sometimes it's like looking in the mirror and yet sometimes not.
Fut!

MECDA Fall show a great co-operative effort!
(in Wichita Bellydance)
Thank you to all of the Wichita area dancers who participated in the MECDA fall show. It is great when all of the studios and independent dancers work together to raise money for a good cause - the YWCA Women's Crisis Center.
