On November 8th Lisa Zahiya presents a spectacular night of world and contemporary dance. The show will be headlined by International Bellydance Sensation Ava Fleming (www.avafleming.com), who will be in Asheville teaching workshops. As an in demand instructor and performer, Ava travels around the world sharing her unique view on this ancient dance form.
The show will feature three women who have won titles at the Bellydancer of The Universe Competition. Ava won the Grand Champion title in 2004, Lisa Zahiya won Tribal Fusion Bellydancer of the Universe in 2008 and SamiTe, also of Asheville, won second place in the Tribal Fusion category in 2008.
The show will feature a dazzling array of dance, including aerial bellydance by Samite, Ladies’ Salsa by Maria-guajira & Dulcinea, Hoop Dancing by Jewels of Chapel Hill and bellydance from stars from Atlanta, Baltimore and more.
