Friday, October 19th. Opel recommends Opulent Temple post playa fundraiser and CD release party Sacred Dust. The OT went bigger than ever this year at Burning Man, and with that great ambition came great cost, one of which was the money spent to make it happen. We know many of you had epic times with us, and we thank you for co-creating such beautiful moments. Now is the hour we need some love back for our huge efforts to bring you joy in BRC.
As usual, we have something great to offer in return. We recorded everything and this is your first chance to get live recordings from some of the epic sets we heard from world class artists and residents alike. We'll have multiple options for you to choose from, including Lee Coombs, Dylan Rhymes, Coburn, Ali B, DJ Dan, Syd Gris, Dutch, Dex Stakker, Sentient, J'Sin, and we're currently working on getting permission from Rabbit in the Moon, Christopher Lawrence, and others. We recorded them right off the board, the quality is great, they are individually labeled, re-mastered and track marked. Everyone that comes and donates $20 to get in will get a free CD of their choice. Others will be available to purchase as well.
Please keep in mind while the Burning Man org gave upwards of $100,000 dollars to the Crude Awakening art project, sound camps like our get ZERO. Sadly for now, we are entirely dependent on the community for our existence. So if you want to see camps like ours continue to show up big for you, we'll need the support.

(for those of you who don't live in the San Francisco Bay Area, don't worry about this email, and sorry for cluttering up your inbox =)
So, in case some of you didn't know, I'm moving to LA at the beginning of March. It's been a long and amazing journey here in San Francisco the last nine years. I've made some amazing friends who I consider family, and had some incredible experiences in and out of the psytrance scene here. I'm honored to have been a part of this place, this culture, this vibe, and even more honored to have experienced it with you!
So it made sense to have a goodbye party at Il Pirata, the bar where I've been helping organize a weekly psytrance party for the last four and a half years (!!!). It'll be my last set there for a while, and I would be touched if I could see your faces there for the last hurrah. It's not like I'm moving to Tibet or anything, I mean, LA is just 6 hours away and I'll probably be seeing most of you in the near future. But this is the end of a significant part of my life, and I'd love to share that moment with my friends.
This will be happening at Il Pirata, located at 2007 16th St., at the corner of Utah St., next Wednesday, February 27th, from 9pm till 2am.

Hey, I know this is a shooting-fish-in-a-barrel method, but I wanted to send a mass email out so that I could get my psytrance DJ friends' attention.
If you're a psytrance DJ, and you're coming to Burning Man, let me know. I'm doing the lineup for the Space Elevator camp, and there's a few spots I could fill. I need progressive DJs, psytrance DJs, and possibly some downtempo DJs. Most likely though, if your style of music is over 150bpm, you won't be playing. Sorry if that sounds mean, but our camp is going to have a certain sound, and that doesn't fit in with it. We don't mind "dark" and we definitely don't mind "hard", but fast stuff that is just crazy noises doesnt work for us.
So anyways, that being said, let me know if you're gonna come, and I'll see if we have space for you to play. Send me an email to:

Hey you. Yes, you! Are you going to Burning Man this year? Are you interested in dancing to psytrance out on the Playa? Feel like helping that become a reality in a big way?
If you said yes to all three of these questions, then perhaps you'd be interested in camping with Space Elevator Camp. Last year we had a large-scale sound system location on the 10:00 side of BMan, and lots of fun was had by many people. But even though we had a sound system, the people who danced there were living all over the Playa. This year, we'd like to have more people camp at the camp location, so we can have a better vibe and energy go into the building of the camp, as well as the maintaining and living/loving of the camp.
It's going to be some work, but it'll be fun. We have some new plans for the dancefloor, and would love more help and input. So if you're of the mind to help contribute in any way, let us know. Whether it's by camping with us and helping create the camp, or by making art and deco for it, or going to a benefit party (we're working on that too). Always welcome are money donations! Yes, we're not shy about saying it. The truth is, it costs quite a bit to put together something like this, and if you can't come to Burning Man this year, or you can't camp with Space Elevator, but you still want to help, that would be a fantastic way to do so.

An International-American, at home wherever I am. Happy to call San Francisco my base of operations, especially since the people and music kick ass. I've been here for seven years and counting, and it just seems to be getting more and more interesting and fun as it goes along. I'm a happy little bastard. I like smiling, and making those around me smile as well, whether that's by laughter caused by my words, or if I get a bit tipsy and start entertaining. My favorite way to make people glow these days is if I have a great time DJing, cuz then the people around me tend to as well. Oh, and psytrance is my passion in life, followed closely by my friends and family.

Wow, what an experience. I'm still going over it in my mind, and what I can mostly say is: I had an incredible amount of fun. Phew!
