God slated Mike with the responsibility of single handedly saving the Bay Area from sliding into a sea of poltical correctness. He doesnt like you - just ask him. Which of course makes being his friend all the more worthwhile.

I’m a firm believer in the theory that evolution isn’t a steady climb but more of a climb with sudden and violent upheavals. In the last several months I have made a lot of changes. The upheaval has been huge. The changes overwhelming.

in the aftermath I stand and wonder. What the fuck was I thinking!!! I’m not sure what I was trying to accomplish but man did I screw the pooch! The next couple of months should be fascinating. I just wish I was a spectator.
God granted me the extreme honor of a second chance 15 some odd years ago.

I have a daughter that is about 26 years old, Michelle. We don’t talk much. She has a husband and two kids of her own. She has grown into an adult that I could have pride in. If I’d been there to raise her. In five days I’ll celebrate 21 years clean. Which means that my first daughter got to see me in the disease for the first portion of her life. She got to get used, torn, neglected and emotionally battere... read more

The following has been attributed to State Representative Mitchell Kaye from GA. This guy should run for President one day... "We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish som... read more
There's a song that Dwight Yoakam sings. "I'm a thousand miles from nowhere. Time don't matter to me. Cause I'm a thousand miles from nowhere. And there's no place I want to be". It states so perfectly how I sometimes feel when I'm out riding through the desert. Recently I took a ride to Arizona and the desolation was really appealing. It was making me be so in the moment. Something I'm terrible at.

He would puff up his chest when someone asked him where he was from and with a voice that had more gravel in it than country road he’d say “West Texas!” He was to say the least gruff. A true biker. Not the citizens you see proudly astride their Harley Davidsons at Starbucks. To him, coffee comes with his biscuits and gravy after he’s been up all night drinking. I’ve stood back to back with him in more than one fight and never worried about anything behind me. I’ve wa... read more

I think Mike just might be the only conservative republican I can call a friend. Generally I run like hell from republicans. But, Mike really is a sweetheart. His wry wit keeps me cracking up. His big hugs warm my soul. (FYI-don't try hugging him if you don't know him. He doesn't like that.) And his heart! Oh, that big ol' heart of his really could qualify him for a liberal.
