It was easier to dissmiss all of LA before this "Miss Lobocita" moved there. Now it has something compelling.

what inspires me, here is a true story. I was at my local kinko's having a report printed and bound. the girl was showing me the spiral binding, and in an effort to estimate how many maximum pages it would take, i grabbed a stack of papers and placed it against the spiral binding thing (a long curly plastic spiral). my stack of papers was too short, so i round-folded them to double the stack height. so, i was able to count the short stack, then multiply by two... that's how many pages the spiral would take. fine, i got my answer. but when i folded the paper, i was thinkin to myself "hahah, wouldn't it be funny if someone actually bound the book together where you couldn't turn the pages... folded the page in half lengthwise, then bound it together. then you could press on the seams so the page would splay open and you could look inside to see..." and BLINK! an idea came to me. if i made a book like that, where i bound the pages togehter, i would print a graphic inside that made it appear that an eye was looking back at you! hahahah. BOOM. Now that project is on my list. But did my mind stop there? no. because then I realized that if i just round-folded (no crease) a whole stack of papers and then bound them together, then sliced them into one-inch slices I would have a flower shape! luckily it was a slow night at kinkos' (and I will not list which kinko's in case corporate sees that and busts them for being creative iwth me) and the girl immediately "saw" my vision and proceeded to try to execute it. eventually the guy joined in and with three of us, we were able to make a plasitc flower out of office products. way way fun. and reason number 1 that kinko''s should not hire me, because i would proably spend all day creating non-business things out of all their boring office stuff. I will photograph it (and even create a one-page handout for this) so you can see.... but in short, what inspires me? just about anything. And here is a jpg of my project sheet. Email me for the pdf if you want it.
