A Slice of Heaven - Fall 2011
Happy Fall Equinox to one and all. Here is a quarterly look at the astrological picture. The equinox occurs on Sept 23rd at 2:05 am, when the Sun enters Libra. The chart reflects much dynamic crazyness on all levels. As it turns out, the end of the world is not in sight, or what is happening. Nor is the comet Elenin anything like it was hyped to be. So, the end of the world as we know it, will not be predicted, or televised.
Evolution is a work in progress, it shows up as acceleration. So, don’t hold back now. Think big and dive right in!
Think grace, courage and self expression, all these are made easy this fall, especially for the fire signs. (Aries, Leo, Sag) Comes with much cutting edge, free spirited thought, and a collective desire for greater justice. One that goes beyond might makes right.
Sep 27
New Moon at 4* Libra
With 5 planets in the sign of the scales, we have ample opportunity to rethink fair and balanced. Lots of weighing back and forth, push and pull going on. Prevent mind scatter by staying grounded. Good for making plans, develop plots, be flexible and light footed. As in, dance as fast as you can.
On Oct 2nd Mars squares Jupiter, read extra proud meets extra stubborn. Avoid gridlock and watch out for inflated ego’s, ready to pop.
On the 6th Mercury conjuncts Saturn and makes for a serious, somber vibe. No time for chitchat. Good for math or linear pursuits, no great for expressing your feelings, at all. Venus enters Scorpio on the 8th, adding passion and sizzle to the gender dance, enjoy!
The Moon is void of course from Sat morning, Yom Kippur, until Monday 6 am. Portends a whole weekend of in-between ness and spinning ones wheels. Not great for final decisions or making up ones mind.
Oct 11
Full Moon 18* Aries
Brings a strong relationship dynamic, where the needs of the self are pitched against the needs of the other. The Sun is conjunct Saturn, everything feels heavy and serious. On one side there is a hotheaded, Moon in Aries, go-for-it drive. Opposed to the overly cautious, conservative, “let’s not get carried away” position.
On Wed. both Venus and Mercury oppose Jupiter, which definitely favors the “lets do get carried away” part of the equation. Watch out for compulsions and emotional roller-coasters. The weekend brings Sun trine Neptune, a fine opportunity to get away from it all. Party, music, dance the night away, draw, watch, or take some pretty pictures. Enjoy!
On the 23rd the Sun enters Scorpio, where feelings can go so deep, they literally replace reality.
Oct 26
New Moon 3* Scorpio
Sun, Moon, Venus & Mercury all in this sexy, intense, resilient sign, symbolized by the eagle, phoenix and scorpion. It’s not all about the stinger, really. The eagle shows keen vision, and phoenix rises above the ashes, all familiar themes.
Venus squares Mars today, which dynamically amplifies any relationship dynamic. Everybody is amp-ed up and nobody wants to back down.
The weekend bring opportunity to sort things out, talk, share expansive ideas, and plan for next year.
Halloween brings a Venus square Neptune aspect. As both of them are in the last degrees, watch out for outrageously creative, recycled, homemade, or throwback costumes.
On Nov 2nd both Venus and Mercury enter Sagittarius, in trine to Uranus on the 3rd. Comes with excitement and inspiration. Watch out for reckless fire-signs.
The week of the 7th brings strong Mars - Neptune energy, desire for changing the status quo, getting to the next level.
Nov 10
Full Moon 18* Taurus
Mars enters Virgo which means less drama and more diligence.
On the16th Mars trines Jupiter and moves into a grand earth trine with Pluto, for a whole week. Expect bold, courageous acts, as it supports strength of character, assertiveness and truth talking.
The Sun enters Sagittarius on the 22nd, the happy go lucky sign. Brings less intensity and more ease in social interactions. The next day Mercury goes retrograde in the outspoken sign of the archer. Expect 3 long weeks peppered with foot in mouth moments. Ooops!
There are no planets in the water element for the rest of the year, besides the occasional 2 day visit from the Moon. We’re being asked to scrap sentimentality this holiday season, for sure!
Nov 24
New Moon 3* Sagittarius,
Solar Eclipse on Thanksgiving Day. This promises lively, intense, emotional gatherings, deep conversations and sharing from the heart.
Venus enters Capricorn on the 26th, and reinforces the grand earth trine energy. Until it’s trine to Mars on the 5th the is a huge opportunity for deep healing, collective and individual growth. Comes with power, passion, and practicality. No nonsense rules! Especially on Dec 1st, when Venus conjuncts Pluto.
Dec 2nd and 4th both Sun and Mercury retrograde square Mars, creating tension over the weekend. Tempers flare, opinions differ and folks with OCD will be aggravated.
Venus trines Mars on the morning of the 5th, which starts the week on a softer note, even frisky and flirtatious. “Come on people now, smile on your brother, everybody love one another right now.”
Dec 10
Full Moon 18* Gemini, Lunar Eclipse
With Uranus SD (station direct) at the Aries point this brings higher that usual potential for mad weather, unusual phenomena and unsettled land masses. It’s not exactly like things were settled before, but the pressure cooker is on. The chart shows a t-square from Mars to, Sun, Moon & the Nodes. Requires flexibility, open mindedness and being of service to each other. These are the brightest nights of the month, enjoy!
Mercury turns direct on the 13th , time to move on, get going, and don‘t look back.
On Sun. the18th Venus squares Saturn, reality check.
Two days later Venus leaves somber, realistic Capricorn on the 20th, to enter the free spirited sign of Aquarius. Adds a nice, collective, yummy vibe to the upcoming holidays.
Much love to all and many blessings -
to be continued.

A Slice of Heaven - Summer 2011
by Lola BabalonWelcome to a glimpse at the astrological weather conditions.
Jupiter, the largest planet, is in the green and earthy sign of Taurus now. It indicates that the mad cap pace of things is about to slow down. Time to remember ones physical needs, and become more comfort oriented. Focus on the good, on the priority of what is needed in each moment. What is best for the greater good of all. It’s a rich, dramatic, intense, and very magical time.
Love more, trust more, fear less. Focus more on cooperation, and less on competition. Enjoy the ride!
Jun 21 - Jun 30
The Summer Solstice period provides major reality checks, and wake-up calls. The next 10 days are crucial. Everything is on the table, and up for grabs. Good for negotiations and assertiveness. Progress will be made, and the price paid for it.
Lots of planets in water signs makes for strong emotions, mood swings and irrational outbursts. And while folks are feeling overwhelmed, there also Neptune-Mercury aspects: grand scale trickery and deceptions.
If at all possible, try cooling your jets, especially during the last days in June. Sun squares Uranus on the 26th, makes for tense, edgy, restless vibes. Brings up power issues, as people are more confrontational, less adaptable. Some things need to come out and be addressed, mulled over, talked about.
Jul 1 - Jul 13
Solar Eclipse 9* Cancer
Sets the stage for tense, intense home coming experiences. A fine time for dealing with ones emotional baggage and family stuff. This eclipse squares Saturn in Libra, and forms a “Grand Cross in Cardinal” aspect. The tables are turned. Events that happen here will have repercussions for a long time.
A reminder to be tender and gentle with each other.
On the 5th there is a Grand Earth Trine aspect between Moon, Jupiter and Pluto. A magical gateway for fundamental shifts in consciousness.
Jupiter trines Pluto on the 7th. A fine time to strategize, talk to power, make big business or financial decisions.
Jul 14 - Jul 29
The Full moon in Capricorn highlights the business vs. pleasure polarities. How to do right in both worlds. Comes with impulsive urges and over the top emotional reactions. Whatever has been held tightly under wraps may suddenly burst out into plain view.
On the 22nd the Sun enters the sign of Leo, the kings & queens of the zodiac. Feel encouraged to shine.
The 27th brings Moon eclipse Mars, while Sun trines Uranus. Watch out for speed freaks of people driven by forces beyond heir control. They’re in fine form and come in of all colors and stripes.
Sign change alert on the 28th. Venus enters Leo, Mercury enters Virgo
Not a great day for buying things, especially clothes, as one’s self image is somewhat distorted.
Jul 30 - Aug 12
New Moon 7* Leo
A time to tune in and reflect. Are you expressing all your creative skills and abilities, joyfully? Or how about a change in colors, or new hairdo?
On the 2nd Mercury SR (goes retrograde) at 1* Virgo, back tracking into Leo. Anything you forgot to express, reveal or show off, still has a chance for a day in the sun.
Mars enters Cancer, at it’s most tender, reclusive, non confrontational place. Good for home improvement projects.
Aug 8th Mercury retrograde re-enters Leo, opposes Neptune
Moody, impulsive, and confusing behavior. The next day Mars squares Uranus. Known as the race-car-driver aspect, it’s somewhat more undercover and devious here as Mars is in the sign of it’s fall. Watch out for over the top reactions, temper tantrums and flying dishes.
Aug 13 - Aug 27
Full Moon at 21* Aquarius means the party is on! Excellent for social activities, lively meetings, fun conversations, multi-cultural gatherings.
The Sun conjuncts Venus & Mercury, less rational, more wired. Favors impulsive, head over heels reactions. Short circuits too. Try to slow down.
On the 21st Venus enters Virgo. Supports good nutrition, self care and the healing arts. An aspect between Sun and Neptune adds dreaminess, a desire for music or pretty pictures. Not great for business, math or linear pursuits.
Sun enters Virgo on the 23rd. Provides a fine opportunity to support and help each other. Think meaningful service
A square between Mars and Saturn highlights tension and conflicts of interest between family members. Chances are, the most responsible party comes out ahead. Avoid arguing with authoritarians.
Aug 26th Mercury SD (stations direct) A time for much needed progress. Good for moving on, or getting ahead in the game.
Aug 28 - Sep 11
New Moon 5* Virgo
Sun trines Pluto and forms a Grand Earth Trine, until the 2nd. A fine opportunity to reinvent your professional self. Good for ceremonies, to benefit the greater good of all, or to initiate big picture changes. The future is being seeded right now.
Also Venus trines Jupiter, now stationary in Taurus. Love matters, love rules! On the 8th Mercury enters it’s own sign of Virgo, another homecoming. Now we can be rational, analytical, make a few lists, get organized.
Sep 12 - Sep 20
Full Moon at 19* Pisces, is extra tender and sensitive, lest we get too brainy here. Consider cutting loose.
Also Mercury trines Jupiter, good for deep sharing, power talks and negotiations. Venus goes into Libra, her home turf. Here she is at her best, stylish and fair, if not necessarily balanced.
On Sep 18th Mars enters the fiery sign of Leo. Here at his swash buckle best - proud, loud and unabashed. Look for heroic acts of bravery. Portends much excitement in relationships.
To be continued.

A Slice of Heaven - Spring 2011 by Lola Babalon
My spring equinox experience involved loosing my car in a local flashflood on Sunday. Besides the trauma of being rescued out of 2 feet of rushing, muddy water, by climbing out of the window, I’m all right. But my car is history, and I need to beg, borrow or buy another car a.s.a.p.You can help by thinking good thoughts, as the synchronistic workings of the universe click into gear to get me on the road again. You can also help by referring any potential clients my way, or by booking a session in person or on the phone.
Much love and gratitude for this adventure unfolding.
Read on for the astrological update.
What a wild ride this year has been already, and what exciting times are still ahead. Every day comes as a gift, a teaching or a revelation. Earth changes, quantum leaps, collective wake-up calls are happening all over. And: “You ain’t seen nothing yet.“ Fear not, trust your instincts, pay attention and let go. The unity of “We are One”, outlasts and outshines the polarizing “Us versus Them“.
Aries
Mar 20
The spring equinox enters with a bang! The Sun conjuncts Uranus, the awakener, revolutionary, de-conditioner. Much impulsive, restless, antsy, and driven energy to go around. Moon conjuncts Saturn in Libra: here the two parental figures are in debate: the old vs. the new, right vs. wrong, natural law versus greed and corruption.
7 planets are in cardinal signs, talk about gung-ho energy. The other 3 are in transpersonal Pisces and Aquarius. It’s the end of the world as we know it, and whether it is an adventure, or a tragedy depends largely on attitude.
What to do? Breathe deeply, wake up from your slumber, support each other and do the best you can, every day. Be bold courageous and outspoken. Act now!
Mar 26
Venus moves into Pisces, generates tender feelings and compassion. Followed by a tense and busy week, with plenty of confrontational aspects.
Mercury goes retrograde on Wednesday. It stays for 2 months in the hot headed sign of the ram, rubbing it in.
Apr 1
April Fool’s Day comes with another bang, as Mars enters its own sign of Aries.
Watch out for moderates suddenly discovering their passion about things.
This much fire energy requires a counterbalance. As in: apply water. Drink lots of it, take long soaks in the tub or brisk dips in the ocean.
Sun Apr 3
The New Moon has Mars conjunct Uranus, among 6 planets in Aries in opposition to Saturn in Libra. Ouch! That’s a lot of revolution versus one single minded, conservative voice of reason. Look out for clashes between young and old ways of looking at things.
Apr 4
Neptune enters Pisces
Halleluja! The big diffuser, unifier has returned home. Time to sweat your prayers and birth a whole new religion.
Apr 9
Mars squares Pluto, Mercury conjunct Jupiter
Indicates conflicts of interest, bold strategic moves and a new round of agreements.
Apr 17
Full Moon 28* Libra
Places an acute emphasis on personal relationships. Fairness, balance, peace and justice topics are on the table.
This week Mercury and Mars oppose Saturn, intense negotiations and potential for military action.
Taurus
Apr 20
Sun enters Taurus, Sextile Neptune,
A good thing! Taurus provides resiliency and stick-to-it-ness. Time to come back down to earth, to seek comfort, and grounding. Feel encouraged to lounge, breathe, reflect, honor the body and the flesh.
Venus enters Aries, like a healing balm for the battle scarred warriors.
The end of the month has multiple aspects indicating high tension. Expect a lot of people on the move.
May 2
New Moon 12* Taurus. Good for remembering ones resources, going inward, coming home. The fixed signs (Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio) provide stability and centering for the rest of folks.
May 8
Mothers Day promises another big one. Mega aspects between the Moon in sensitive Cancer, and the four feisty planets in Aries provide plenty of tension, emotional breakthroughs and mischief. The Cardinal signs (Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, Libra) are advised to take it easy, if they can.
May 11
Mars enters Taurus
It’s in a powerful, primal driven spot. Good for physical strength, building projects and gardening. Not known for it’s delicacy or finesse, more like a bull in a China-shop.
Venus & Mercury conjunct Jupiter, which can transform a tense, or selfish situation into a cooperative one. Instead of competition we can now have agreement.
May 17
Full Moon 26* Scorpio
Passions are at an all time, mid-week high, enjoy!
Comes with plenty of creativity, verbal exchange and a rather wild imagination.
Gemini
May 21 Sun enters Gemini
Where Taurus is solid, earthy and grounded, Gemini is mobile, playful, and light footed. It provides a counterpoint of ease and adaptability. It’s a multi-faceted, ambidextrous and curious sign, that loves to chat and socialize.
May 23
Venus conjuncts Mars in the sensuous sign of Taurus.
Another match of the most ancient and powerful of players, the ever sacred mating dance.
This aspect continues over the Memorial Day weekend, and indicates much fun for Topangadays. Watch out for frisky fellows, and luscious ladies, on the prowl.
Jun 1
Solar eclipse, New Moon 11* Gemini, Eclipses bring intense emotions, especially for the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) These can experience major changes in purpose and direction. The Sun trines Saturn, good for expansion, diligence, hard work and focus.
Jun 2
Mercury enters Gemini, it’s home turf. Time to lighten up already, as little bit of humor goes a long way.
Jun 3
Neptune SR (stations retrograde)
Watch out for UFO’s, space cadets, and major dreams, insights or revelations.
Jun 4
Jupiter enters Taurus
Shifts the collective focus toward resources and earth friendly technologies. It may be a bit late in the game, but necessity is the mother of invention, and Jupiter will be here or a year. Also expands the tantric perspective on life. The one that remembers that pleasure heals, and it’s okay to have lots of it.
Jun 9
Venus enters Gemini, squares Neptune
Not recommended for weddings or first dates… Do something frivolous instead.
Jun 15
Lunar Eclipse 24* Sagittarius, conjunct the Galactic center makes a strong incentive to align with ones higher sense of purpose. Every day, every hour, every moment, every choice counts in the big scheme of things.
Find the love and beauty in each moment.
To be continued.

A Slice of Heaven - 2010/11 by Lola Babalon
Winter SolsticeOn Dec 21, 2010 the Winter solstice coincides with a Lunar Eclipse, in a rare match up of solar and lunar cycles. Around midnight the shadow of the earth crosses the face of the Moon.
Eclipses are highly charged, emotional events, especially at the peak of the holiday season.
In the last degree of a sign things have run out of steam, there is a need for completion. Here the Sun & Moon are at 29* of Sagittarius & Gemini. People are tired of the same old, same-old and ready for the next chapter.
The alignment squares Uranus and Jupiter in Pisces, expanding the doors of perception. Watch the ever shrinking, oscillating gap between reality and fiction. Every exit is an entry way to something else.
The Solstice itself occurs at 3:39 pm, when the Sun enters Capricorn. Here the Moon is at 8* Cancer in opposition to Mars in Capricorn. A polarizing push and pull dynamic that brings up self versus family issues. Comfort versus discipline, collective needs versus company needs, local versus global perspectives. It's all on the table.
Mercury rules the chart and is the only planet in retrograde motion. It is conjunct the galactic center, and provides a hotwire for inspiration, and Aha! experiences on a grand scale.
There is a friendly sextile aspect between Venus in sexy Scorpio, and Mars, exalted in hardworking Capricorn, the sign of the Dark Eros. Love rules!
Overall the portends are for another year of major, awesome, magical "shift happens" experiences. Expect more acceleration, globalization, wild weather, and tectonic activity. Nothing is certain but change.
Do not hesitate, nor hang on to the status quo. Instead adapt to the ever evolving set of circumstances. Learn to roll with it.
Trust your instincts, remember your values, skills, tools and resources. Love freely and unconditionally, don't hold back. Eat as clean and green as possible. Plant gardens, sow seeds, know yourself, and know each other. We are all in it together, and may as well enjoy the ride.
Winter Solstice / Lunar Eclipse & Lola’s 25th Anniversary Party
Come rain, storm or moonshine, let’s get together and celebrate the turning of the tides. If you are local or in the area, feel encouraged to come as you are, and join the revelries.

A Slice of Heaven - Spring 2010
by Lola BabalonHappy spring to everyone, and welcome to another look at the astrological lineup for this season. It certainly promises to be a volatile time, as Uranus, the awakener and Jupiter, the amplifier will enter the sign of Aries before summer. Which adds fuel to the fire of difficult transits experienced by those born early in the cardinal signs (Cap, Ari, Can, Lib). Comes with a deep collective restlessness and portends major shifts and changes all the way around. Fasten your seatbelt.
Mar 20
Sun enters Aries 10:30 am PST
The sign of the Ram is known for it’s power, drive and go-for-it attitude.
Current aspects to Mars and Saturn indicate rash decisions, instinctual reactions and less tolerance all the way around. Avoid gridlock in business or tense negotiations by being as diligent, patient and cooperative as possible. Adopting a “we’re all in it together” attitude is more productive than “my way or the highway“.
On Mar 29, the Full Moon in Libra is good for making new connections. Reach out to each other and appreciate what is. Life may be a rollercoaster, but a positive attitude, and seeing the beauty in all things is helpful.
In the beginning of April Venus and Mercury enter the sign of Taurus, which slows down the temper tantrums in favor of creature comforts
Alas, Venus squares Mars Apr 3 and heats up any unfinished relationship issues. Because both are in fixed signs, do not get into gridlock, rather agree to disagree, and get whatever is brewing out into the open.
This gets amplified on Apr 6, when Pluto stations to retrograde and then Saturn retrogrades back into the sign of Virgo. Revisit your organizational goals and nutritional needs.
The New Moon occurs at 24* Aries on Apr 14. A good time for self reflection, and to embark on creative projects. On the 17th Mercury begins it’s retrograde journey through the sign of Taurus. Good for slowing down, to get in touch with your physical needs, and to meditate in nature.
Taurus
The Sun enters the sign on Apr 19, when springtime is at it’s best in the northern hemisphere. Enjoy the flowers, the lively green and seasonal mating games. These days Venus, the ruler of Taurus is way ahead of the Sun, it enters Gemini on Apr 24. She can be seen sparkling in the evening sky, just after sunset in the west.
On the 25th the Sun trines Pluto, a fine time for power talks, cooperation and forging alliances. On a personal level it provides inner strength and courage. Then Saturn opposes Uranus. As both are in the last degrees of the mutable signs it makes for a volatile, push & pull combo. Expect the unexpected, and major turning point decisions.
Apr 28, the Full Moon peaks at 8* Scorpio. In the sign known for it’s emotional intensity, this facilitates passionate outbursts. A fine time to embrace your sweetheart. Also watch out for road rage and vengeful reminders of the past.
On May 7 Venus sextiles Mars, any ongoing gender wars can be smoothed out and talked over. On the 11th Mercury stations to go direct. In the sign of the bull, the mental gears are grinding more slowly these days, but the turn around in motion indicates progress.
The New Moon 23* Taurus occurs on May 13. An excellent time to tune in and take care of body and soul. The weekend is excellent as the Moon eclipses Venus on Sunday. Lots of aspects in the middle of week, indicate hard work and accordingly, a bit of overwhelm. Make sure to keep your eyes on the road and get enough rest.
Gemini
On May 20 the Sun enters Gemini. The sign of the twins illustrates the concept duality. And not just duality, but variety too, multiplicity. Here you become aware of your choices. And being able to choose is what freedom is all about.
Two days later, May 22 Jupiter opposes Saturn. Good for conferences and exchanges between great minds, as opportunity meets responsibility. Then Venus opposes Pluto, adding some spice to the mix. Resist the temptation to issue now-or-never ultimatums.
The Full Moon on May 27 is at 7* Sag. The sign if the archer is known for it’s feisty, adventuresome attitudes. And with Uranus entering Aries this weekend it promises much fun, excitement and revelry for TopangaDays.
On May 30 Saturn stations, going direct, and then Neptune stations to go retrograde. During stations a planets energy becomes more apparent. Here their effects are almost detrimental. One being very realistic and the other not at all. So, watch out for reality is stranger than fiction happenings.
Jun 6 Mars enters Virgo: After 6 months of self-appreciation in Leo, this new development shifts the focus toward the collective. Time to do what’s in the best interest, and for the greater good for everyone.
On Jun 8 Jupiter conjuncts Uranus. Both are located in the 1st degree of Aries, anything can happen, as the higher mind and synchronicity are active here. Much potential for quantum leap insights and breakthroughs.
Jun 9: Mercury enters it’s home turf of Gemini. After the long journey in Taurus this adds more easy going, playful and chatty energy to the next couple of weeks.
On Jun 12, the New Moon is at 21* Gemini. Good for taking it easy, expanding awareness, and find new ways of looking at things.
Then on Jun 19, the last day of spring the Sun squares Saturn, and trines Neptune. It’s likely to bring up any unfinished business, or conflict between vision vs. consequences.
To be continued.

A Slice of Heaven - Fall 2009
Greetings to you from the hot and toasty canyon of Topanga. Here’s another look at the astrological line-up, enjoy! At the fall equinox the year starts to coil in on itself. The days get ever shorter and the nights stretch out to maximum length. With the diminishing of light comes are certain seriousness. The kids enter school again, grown-ups focus on the plans ahead, there is a collective move toward completion.
The impending darkness is traditionally counterbalanced by much celebration: Halloween, Day of the Dead and Thanksgiving all open the door for Advent and the traditional ‘return of the light’ celebrations of the winter solstice.
Currently there is an ongoing Uranus Saturn opposition: the celestial taskmaster is having it out with the revolutionary, maverick, or bratty teenager. It’s about creating new forms of working and being. Anything that feels tight or constricted, will want to bust loose or find a way to expand. Anything that’s too utopian, ungrounded will come in for a reality check. Focus on finding your equilibrium, get ready to expand or contract as needed. Flexibility rules.
This topic will become amplified big time by the beginning of 2010 as this opposition moves into the cardinal signs of Aries & Libra, with both planets in square aspect to Pluto in Capricorn.

A Slice of Heaven - Summer 2009
Cancer, Jun 20 - Jul 21Here is a look at this summer’s planetary line-up, which casts a pretty vivid picture. If the astrological weather this spring has been turbulent, then summer looks like it’s not going to slow down one bit either. We are heading into another eclipse cycle, as happens twice a year. It tends comes with rocky emotions and a high level of drama. Or, as we used to say, when I worked for the Psychic Eye Book Shop, a.k.a. the Psychic Sweat Shop: “Somebody is going to be upset!”
Cancer is a high drama sign to start with, as it is ruled by the Moon. Extra sensitive, extra emotional, and easy to retreat into it’s shell. Or to quietly scamper off sideways.
With the current eclipse cycle featuring to New Moon, early and late in the sign, this is surely going to be lively summer, both at home and abroad. Mostly affected are the cardinal signs: Capricorn, Aries, Cancer and Libra.
Read on for a glimpse at the planetary alignments:

A Slice of Heaven - November 2008
As the year draws to a close, and the world markets are in turmoil, there is a rollercoaster of change going on, that’s challenging the status quo. Some of these changes are subtle, others more obvious, in your face.In these trying times it helps to cultivate patience, perseverance, stay in the moment and deal with what is. Who would have thought that the currencies, stock indexes and oil prices could fluctuate like that? Less than six month ago we were paying $5.- per gallon gasoline. However: What goes up must come down. And: “Nothing fails like success“. (quote from Osho)
This unified, global happening brings up the core values of what makes life worth living. Love, support, nurturing each other, protecting the children, nature, enjoying each moment of each day. Cultivate gratitude for this experience here and now, give thanks for this opportunity to go along for the ride. Use your awareness, and don’t resisting anything.
So, lets do look at the bright side, simplify, make good use of resources, and cultivate friendships as the best of assets.
Scorpio - the tough cookies of the Zodiac
The pervasiveness of autumn growing cooler and darker, and the ghoulish holidays of Halloween and All Saints Day fall into the sign of Scorpio. It’s a resilient sign, that’s represented by powerful animals: the eagle, the snake and the scorpion.
It’s also associated with the mythical phoenix rising from the ashes. Those born under the sign are able to transmute the most challenging experiences. There is a sultry sex appeal that comes with a keen interest in metaphysical matters, and an ability to look straight into the core of things. Can be secretive, behind the scenes. Do not make them mad, as you will likely regret it. Intensely emotional and passionate, a Scorpio is a ‘force majeure’ to behold.
Congratulations to the famous, feisty Topanga Scorpio’s:
Aaron Hendry, Antonia Bath & husband Michael, Janice Harmon, Bo Tasker, Lacey Brooks, Eric De Cook, Jane Marla Robbins, Heidi Light, Jed Levy, Jackie Kane, Kevin Kerber, Olaf Hartmann, Randy Harrison, Daryl Vance, Barry Newton, Ami Kirby and for all others not mentioned here.
Cheers and happy birthday one and all. May it be a most excellent year on all levels!

All Saints Day Neptune SD
Today the doors between ordinary and non-ordinary reality are wide open. It is customary to honor and celebrate ones ancestors. The ceremony can be as simple as lighting a candle, a prayer, a bit of food left outside, an altar with candy and some photos. Or as elaborate as the Catholic ceremony, or Dia Del Los Muertos camp outs at the graveyard.
Nov 3
Venus square Saturn, square Uranus. Mars square Neptune
This adds plenty of tension leading up to election day. Much potential for confusion, loss of focus or direction.
Nov 4

A Slice of Heaven - Oct 2008
The planets and their cycles deeply influence the collective minds and interactions. This influence can be rather subtle, and occasionally it’s not so subtle at all, but right in your face. While there are numerous systems, tools and techniques to the art of astrology, they all seem to work somehow, once you start paying attention to them. So, try this one on for size:
Libra, the charmers of the Zodiac
Pleasant, easy going, well dressed and ultra cooperative, these folks are good at making life easy for the rest of us. Their aim is to please, and help everybody get along, to the point of seeking consensus at all costs. Ruled by the lovely Venus they are graceful, creative and appreciate the finer sides of life, namely art and beauty.
This pretty picture is currently skewed off center by Mercury retrograde in the sign until Oct 15. Expect to re-evaluate and re-assess your involvements with others. Also be prepared to address any needed balance between giving and receiving.
Venus, Libras ruling planet is already ahead of the Sun in the feisty sign of Scorpio. Along with Mars which is in extra macho mode here, in it’s home turf. The gods of love and war’s residence in Scorpio can bring about a dark, obsessive emotionality, that is driven by passions beyond rational control.
Fortunately Jupiter in Capricorn is in trine aspect to Saturn in Virgo all month long. While there is little to cheer about on the global economic front, at least there is good cooperation, and collective efforts to sort things out. The earth signs (Capricorn, Virgo & Taurus) are being called on to help others by keeping their feet on the ground.
Famous Topanga Libra’s:
Darby Warren, Debra Silbar, Jackie Johnson, James Dean, Jim Crawford, Johnathan Yaney, Julia Sugarman, Julian Scott, Kathy Gibbony, Livia Salamon, Patrice Winter, Suzanne Teng, and all those not mentioned here. Cheers to all and happy birthday, may it be your best year ever.

Full Moon 22* Aries, Sun trine Neptune
Since there are few planets in fire signs this month, the Aries Moon adds a good spark to fire things up. The cardinal signs (Capricorn, Aries, Cancer & Libra) will likely feel this as a drive to ‘must do something right now’.
May bring up issues around taking care of yourself, versus taking care of others. Remember to keep looking out for #1. Expect volatile tempers and short fuses all the way around. Some will be antsy and others ecstatic, as the Sun / Neptune aspect facilitates flights of fancy, keen intuition and breakthrough spiritual experiences.

Now is the perfect time to regenerate, nourish or resource yourself. Take a break, get some bodywork and sleep as much as you can.

Oct 31
Halloween, Mars trine Uranus
The Halloween tradition signifies the descent into the dark season, as the veil between life and death is very thin. We honor the ancestor that have gone before us, that the transitions of those that have passed during the year. We also get to dress up as our alter ego, worst nightmares or kinky fantasy.
This year the holiday falls close to the dark part of the Moon cycle. Expect to feel less social and more introverted. Mars Uranus adds a daring element and need for excitement. Look out for alien out-fits and space cadets.
