A Slice of Heaven - Summer 2009

   Thu, June 25, 2009 - 6:06 AM
Cancer, Jun 20 - Jul 21
Here is a look at this summer’s planetary line-up, which casts a pretty vivid picture. If the astrological weather this spring has been turbulent, then summer looks like it’s not going to slow down one bit either. We are heading into another eclipse cycle, as happens twice a year. It tends comes with rocky emotions and a high level of drama. Or, as we used to say, when I worked for the Psychic Eye Book Shop, a.k.a. the Psychic Sweat Shop: “Somebody is going to be upset!”

Cancer is a high drama sign to start with, as it is ruled by the Moon. Extra sensitive, extra emotional, and easy to retreat into it’s shell. Or to quietly scamper off sideways.
With the current eclipse cycle featuring to New Moon, early and late in the sign, this is surely going to be lively summer, both at home and abroad. Mostly affected are the cardinal signs: Capricorn, Aries, Cancer and Libra.

Read on for a glimpse at the planetary alignments:

Jun - 20, Sun enters Cancer at 10:46 pm
Summer Solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year. Expect plenty of high energy exchanges going on this weekend. Good for social activity and for letting go of old patterns and blueprints.

Jun - 21,
Venus conjuncts Mars at 15* Taurus.
This magical degree in the middle of fixed signs is strongly connected with the spirit realm, namely the archangels. So, whether you are currently in a relationship, in between, getting over it, or up for new beginnings, tonight’s the night to say your prayers or go on the prowl looking for trouble.

Jun - 22
New Moon 2* Cancer.
Can it get any more intense? The opposition to Pluto new pacts, manifestos, statements of intent, and realigning your commitments.

Jul - 1
Uranus SR 27* Pisces
Unusually restless vibes for the holiday national weekend. People will feel frisky and inclined to abandon all caution. Be assertive about your personal boundaries on that one, or get real reckless and into uncharted territory..

Jul - 7
Lunar Eclipse 15* Capricorn, There have been some interesting crop circles in England this spring, that indicate a major Solar Flare on that day. A fine time to be prepared for possible power outs. Just for the heck of it, and to err on the side of caution, do update your emergency preparedness kit and procedures.

Jul - 10
Jupiter ret. conjunct Neptune
Today is extra dreamy and intuitive, check the news for unusual occurrences. Look out in traffic for a few space cadets, happily skipping along on cloud 9.

Jul - 11
Mars enters Gemini
Think of it as a ram in the library. Pushing, shoving, and messing with the flow of information, which may be going any which way..

Jul - 21
Solar Eclipse 29* Cancer
Good for finishing up family affairs, getting closure on things. Moving on.

Leo, Jul 22 - Aug 21
This part of summer is the best time for self care, or getting away from it all. The Leo is a natural born leader, and the current line-up can be summarized to the old hippie credo / admonishment: “Do your thing!”

Aug - 5
Lunar Eclipse 14* Aquarius
Here you get to ‘do your thing’ with friends, and in public. Good for gatherings and humanitarian activities of any kind.

Aug - 14
Sun opposes Jupiter
Any aspect to Jupiter comes with a tendency to blow things out of proportion. In this case look out for inflated egos, and a pin ...

Aug - 17
Sun opposes Neptune, Chiron, Mars trines Neptune
Watch out in traffic because a bunch of people will be driving sleep at the wheel, or on autopilot . Good for romance, not great for rational thinking, or the giving and receiving directions. Keep your feet on the ground and avoid confusion. Accept that reality is not what it used to be.

Aug - 20
New Moon 27* Leo
Going in, in order to go out. Comes with potential for visionary activities, vivid dreams, keen intuition, and a look at the vast, big picture.

Virgo, Aug 22 - Sep 21
Most inclined to provide meaningful service, this sign has been bogged down by Saturn’s transit for the last couple of years. Comes with hard work, something no Virgo is afraid of, long hours and increased responsibilities. Feel’s like a heavy, wet blanket. The good news: Saturn is about to move on, into Libra this Fall.

Aug - 23
Sun trines Pluto
Today is all about empowerment, be confident in business and personal matters.

Aug - 25
Mars enters Cancer, Mercury enters Libra, Mercury square Mars
0* cardinal: initiate! Good for meeting people, breakthroughs in negotiations and embarking in new ventures.

Aug - 26
Mars opposes Pluto, Mercury squares Pluto
There can be high tension or conflicts of interest. Be aware of misunderstandings and a pervasive, general blockheadedness.

Sep - 4
Fullmoon 12* Pisces
Dream on! Life can be more magical than fiction, so go on gently into the Labor Days weekend.

Sep - 6
Mercury SR at 6* Libra, will go direct at 21* Virgo on Sep - 30
Allows you to re- everything. Re-do, re-consider, re-evaluate relationships. What you have learned from each other so, far, where you’d like to go. Good for acceptance, tolerance, radical honesty, going deep.

correction: Summer Solstice is Shortest Day in Southern Hemisphere places such as Australia....
And, in the N. Hemisphere, Summer Solstice (Midsummer) is the LONGEST day of the year.
Otherwise, very good job on this month's astrology forecast, Lola! Nice seeing you on OneTantra.com, too!

Thanks for pointing this out Linda!
Must be one of these dyslexic thing that escaped me while spell checking... I wonder if the editor at www.topangamessenger.com picked up on that. I'm one of their regular contributors (and they pay me $50 per article), but that one does not appear online.

All the best to you there in the outback winter -
much love
