<div>This from the Denver Post:

This text is from a county emergency manager out in the central part
of Colorado after todays snowstorm.

WEATHER BULLETIN

Up here, in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a Historic
event--- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions" ---
with a historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 MPH
that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds
of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of
communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.

FYI:

George Bush did not come.

FEMA did nothing.

No one howled for the government.

No one blamed the government.

No one even uttered an expletive on TV

Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.

Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.

Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.

CNN , ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this category 5
snowstorm. Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.

No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.

No one looted.

Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.

Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.

No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo
Rivera.

No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be found.

Nope, we just melted the snow for water.

Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.

The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't ask for a
penny.

Local restaurants made food and the police and fire departments delivered
it to the snowbound families.

Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.

We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.

We put on extra layers of clothe s because up here it is "Work or Die".

We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a
mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes
for 'sittin at home' checks.

Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen this
early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north of about 48
degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems evaporate."

It does seem that way, at least to me.

I hope this gets passed on.

Maybe SOME people will get the message. The world does Not owe you a
living.</div>

<div>Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.</div>

<div>I have moved again... now I live in Gravois Mills, Mo.. on 180 acres
with a 35'deep lake, Hanger and grass runway... looking to get an
ultra lite.... but Im busy with the farm and the orchard, and the
rabbits (raise for food)... I have become a slum land lord, renting
my house in college town. Now my wife wants to winter in Az,
probably in the Tucson area. This will work out so that I can go to
school for massage and continue my apprenticeship in silver/gold
smithing- and jewelry manufacture. So thats the latest good news

little bad... a warning... dont buy or let anyone buy a chevy S10
extreme... what a nightmare... the stock rims are 565 each and it cant
be towed easly without damage. my wife blew a tire cracked the rim and
then wore out the donut in aweek...same week I blew a tire on our
fullsize truck... the week I needed to move with... and I was just
working at a bar called Big Dick's Halfway Inn. I got let go for
being "over qualified"...my product was too good, I overshadowed all
the other cooks and the food wasnt consitant, which is bad for
business.. go figure...lol

<div>her answers first....

Food, glorious food!

givemethegun demanded that people take part in her meme. I reproduce it here, for those who like to think about food as much as she and I do.

1. If there was only one condiment on this earth that you could take to heaven with you, what would it be?
Spray “butter.” It’s brilliant! No need for a knife – just spray it on things!

2. When you're sitting home on a Saturday night, feeling depressed in your fat clothes, and no-one's there to judge you, what do you like to scarf?
Popcorn. Sometimes two whole bags! And I have a thing for canned pineapple….

3. Your favourite food item?
Um. There is no one favorite! I love food too much! But maybe … bread, in it’s infinite variety…?

4. It's a hot day, and you could drink _____ by the gallon.
Mint lemonade. Sangria. Mango lassies!

5. Milk chocolate or white?
I’m a dark chocolate girl, myself. Rich, dark, intense. Yum.

6. Something you like to eat that no-one else seems to.
Mincemeat pies! Junket! Pickled herring in sour cream!

7. Similarly, what's the weirdest food or food combination that you love?
Milk toast. Shut up.

8. When (if) you go out drinking, what's your Summer drink of choice, and your Winter drink of choice?
Sangria in summer. Hot sake in winter. Champagne any time!

9. Do you like your food spicy?
I love lotsa wasabi with sushi, and I can take seriously hot chili, but the chili peppers used in Thai food kill me every time. My throat closes up, tears start pouring out my eyes, my face turns red – not pretty! And when people ask if I’m okay, I can’t talk to answer them!
(nikki_brand -- do you remember the first time we met and I kept choking on spicey food around you?!)

10. It's your birthday, woo, and you get to go to your favourite cultural restaurant. What is it, and what do you get?
Sushi every birthday!

11. One food you wouldn't touch if you were dying.
Anything involving bugs.

12. Comfort food?
Mashed potatoes. With or without garlic and olive oil, or parmesan cheese, or sour cream and parsley, etc.

13. If you were traveling through exotic countries, would you try everything on offer, or stick to what you know (ie: McDonalds)?
Everything except bugs!

14. Favourite fishy seafood item?
Smoked salmon. Lobster. Oysters.

15. It's freezing cold, you're feeling poorly, and you're hankering for some soup. What be it?
I long for miso soup or Tom Ka Gai wen I get a cold. I makes some mean soups as well. A chicken soup that’ll kill ya or cure ya! A beef stew thicker than um … thick things.

16. You like dessert?
Yes! Can I have seconds on this mousse au chocolate, please? And if you’re not going to finish that creme caramel…?

17. Hot drink?
Tea. Decaf Earl Gray (loves me some Bergamot!) or Red Tea, or ginger tea. Or hot chocolate. Or fancy-schmancy lattes. Or a simple café au lait with a bit of cinnamon.

18. You're on death row, you jerk, and you get to choose your last meal. You can have anything you want - so?
Goat cheese balls rolled in pine-nuts and drizzled in a balsamic reduction with crusty fresh bread, followed by oysters on the half-shell with lemon and horseradish, followed by cold Vichyssoise, followed by Filet Mignons in Béarnaise, followed by coq au vin, followed by lobster with drawn butter, followed by a refreshing lavender sorbet, followed by tiramisu, finished with dark chocolate truffles and an excellent port. Then espresso. Then the drinking will really start!

19. Milkshakes or smoothies?
My own smoothies: banana, chocolate sauce, and vanilla yogurt!

20. Your perfect breakfast?
An all you can eat breakfast buffet in a fancy hotel. Eggs benedict to feature, as well as melon-heavy fruit salad, muffins and other sweet and starchy items, potatoes in various manners. Smoked salmon. Maybe some more eggs in other presentations. Ham and roast beef. Hot chocolate. Bloody Mary.

21. What's your signature dish/do you like to cook?
My special Chicken Marengo with mushroom risotto.

now feeling: hungry

now ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Mine

Food, glorious food!

 <div>
You are Form 0, Phoenix: The Eternal.

"And The Phoenix's cycle had reached zenith, so he consumed himself in fire. He emerged from his own ashes, to be forever immortal."

Some examples of the Phoenix Form are Quetzalcoatl (Aztec), Shiva (Indian), and Ra-Atum (Egyptian).
The Phoenix is associated with the concept of life, the number 0, and the element of fire.
His sign is the eclipsed sun.

As a member of Form 0, you are a determined individual. You tend to keep your sense of optomism, even through tough times and have a positive outlook on most situations. You have a way of looking at going through life as a journey that you can constantly learn from. Phoenixes are the best friends to have because they cheer people up easily.
