Once, I had the most insane crush on Loren. In the 1,562 days since then, I've been lucky enough to explore an intense spectrum of emotions that range from passion to compassion with him. Here I have found a gentle confidant, a stubborn foe, and a timeless romantic. He is predisposed to wanderlust, has a penchant for tomfoolery, and flirts with anything that is incredibly dangerous. His fire is of the most spontaneous variety. And yet as a student of life and light, he is learning the benefits of discipline, the value of precise forms and careful shadows. Loren dances the line between the wild and the measured with distinction and his own style of coltish grace. Cheers to another year of learning, love and friendship.

I recently heard an anonymous quote, attributed to the Greeks, that caught my mind up and made me smile with its balance, and its symmetry, and its wu. That was, that the highest ideal for ones life was to spend it in the loving contemplation of worthy things.
