I happen to believe it is a very nice thing to have a day like this today. It isn't a religious holiday. It is in fact pretty non-sectarian all the way around. ANYBODY can observe it. You can even say 'I love you' or 'I care' to your pet turtle if you have one. A special day with a warm heart never hurt nobody. This very tired looking black family gets off as I'm waiting to get on the train. Mother looking annoyed with bags. Father has small kindergarten at best aged child improperly grabbed up loosely to get off train quickly. I hear protesting from child but not sure what it's about. My day started out rather pleasent actually. I even made a gluten free coffee crumb cake. But as the day progressed....I am now thinking of locking myself in a closet with my head stuck in a toilet or sand.
