bicycle stolen in SF

someone stole my bicycle (probably last night). it's a green "Trek 930" brand with a white fork, it's covered with white and red reflexive tape (hard to remove) and it's also covered with that playa dust from the burning-man desert. there was a triangle el-wire in the front-wheel, a luggage rack, and a mirror on the handle-bar, on the left. photo here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2050/2482420970_a618db2e57_b.jpg if you see it, call me right away at 415 533 1047 - thanks!

i changed my plans and will most likely be traveling in laos starting soon, sometimes around may 15th, for about one month. i plan to rent a motorbike in vientiane, then go to luang prabang and from there make a big loop in the high hills and karstic landscapes of northern laos, where there is a lot of wonders to discover. the cheapest flights to laos are via bangkok thailand, then there are R/T flights to vientiane for about $240. no visa needed, 30-day visa on arrival is available for about $35. all you need is a valid passport, a plane ticket plus money for local expenses, and up-to-dates immunizations. contact me directy (and rapidly) if you'd be interested to ride with me. and if you have already been there and have some good advices or recommendations, email me! -tristan

i'm seriously looking into traveling in cambodia (mostly northern part), starting soon, sometimes around may 20th, for about one month. why now? because there will be construction work going on in my house so it's a good time for me to be away! why cambodia? because i've never been there, i heard it's beautiful, and a very cheap place to travel, and it's also one of the best place in asia to rent motorcycles (a 250cc will cost maximum $10/day). i intend to travel around by motorbike. i don't plan to spend more than $30 per day all included (motorcycle rental, gas, lodging, food, etc). if you know how to drive a motorcycle and want to join the fun, let me know. two years ago i rented a motorbike for 2 weeks in northern vietnam ($5/day for a 125cc) and i had a blast (see photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/loupiote/sets/72057594049714778/ ). i am also considering laos, but it's much harder to rent a motorbike in laos, apparently. the cheapest way to cambodia is via bangkok thailand, then there are R/T flights to phnom penh cambodia for about $200. all you need is a passport, money for the plane ticket plus local expenses, and up-to-dates vaccinations. contact me directy (and rapidly) if you'd be interested.

I was informed by a friend, and i checked, that's correct: United.com is mistakenly charging the winter fare (instead of the fall fare) when you book on-line a R/T flight from San Francisco (SFO) to Paris (CDG) in september with weekday travel dates (Mondays-Thursdays). The fare is only $518 all taxes and all charges included (normal price in september is around $1000). If you were planning a european trip for this fall, book it now before they correct their error! www.united.com
