about me
I wiggle my toes when excited.
My parents are still married, but I don't like checking the Other box. My liberal-ness extends to global warming, alternative communities and political revolt, but I hate being called a Hippie. We need a new term. I hum under my breath constantly and quietly, but am not even aware I'm doing it. My slow move from ten-year vegetarian to vegan is always illuminating. I love capoeira, traveling, oceans, poetry gatherings, dinner soirees, dj-ing my house parties, deep conversations with strangers, films that just HIT you and slam poetry. I've studied the arts my whole life, but have a whole list of things I wish to study and do, including: subliminal eco-conscious spirituality hidden within major feature films... how television effects the eyes, heart and soul... permaculture and alternative organic gardening methods... peaceful anarchism... spirituality by example... how to make mango-chocolate deserts... how to write the perfect screenplay... I intend to own homes in one or all of these locations: Jamaica, Hawai'i, New York City, Florence, Monaco and San Francisco.

I haven't been since 2003, because this is the first year that someone hasn't died the week before the burn. (knock on every piece of wood around you, please.) Camping at 4:30 and Eager is a perfect reflection of my state of mind. I had an overall amazing time at Burning Man the only year I've gone, but I did have some problems with it... namely, the lack of eco-consciousness in the amount wasted, a... read more

please remember this. As artists, if we stay silent, we simply uphold the system and support the status quo. "The arts are political, whether they like it or not. If they stay in their own realm, preoccupied with their proper problems, the arts support the status quo, which in itself is highly political. Or they scream and kick and participate in our own country’s struggle for liberation in whatever haphazard way they can, probably at the expense of... read more
In every breath we take, we bathe our lungs in a homogenous sample of that same air- many trillions of molecules of it- with at least a few in each breath that were also breathed by Buddha at some point during his life...Jesus, Moses, Mohammed... as well as Hitler, Stalin, and Genghis Khan.

But the air we breathe is profoundly different than was theirs. Every single person alive now inhales with each breath 600 percent more chlorine atoms than did Moses or Mohammed. And we wonder ab... read more
“People are so isolated, and so alone, and so suspicious, and so competitive with each other, and so sure that they are about to be conned by their neighbor, or by their mother, or by their sister, or their grandmother. What's the use of having fifty percent of the world's wealth, or whatever it is that you have, if you're going to live this pathetic, terrified life?”
