i Blog . . .

With a few of the dollars I received from my parents, I decided to do minor splurge and replace my older tape-based Sony handycam with one of the newer digital units which record directly to a hard drive in MPEG2 format ... wow .. this unit even records audio in Dolby 5.1 surround sound .. !!

I've seen this particular unit for sale a couple of years ago, and now that the price has dropped on it, I decided to grab one while it was on sale .. I am also a firm believer in NOT picking up the ... read more

My birthday was last week. I've reached the magic number of "60", and it is amazing actually ...

I was also thinking a lot about my mother .. she and my father divorced when I was about nine years old, and like so many nasty divorces, I ended up with not one photograph of my mother. Any photos that my father did have were cut up so that the portions that included my mother in them were missing....

I do have a lot of memories of her, starting at about 4 years old until my parents part... read more

A picture began circulating in November. It should be 'The Picture of the Year,' or perhaps, 'Picture of the Decade.' It won't be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the US paper which published it, you probably would never have seen it.

The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner.

The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. Little Samuel... read more

This is going to sound funny .. but ... The quake occurred less than 5 miles from our home, as we live near the Calaveras Fault ..

I was in our home theater building at the time which is behind our house, and was on the internet at the time .. this building sits on 8"X8" pressure-treated skids that run the length of the building and the building sits on concrete.

Some stuff fell off some of the bookshelves and I was holding on to the computer LCD screen so it wouldn't fall over ...

Our Greatest Goal

<<----I'm sick if a South Park avatar is there, wearing a gas mask- -<<<<

As of January 2006, I have retired from a 30-year career in Public Safety Communications.

Our goal now is for my lez partner and I to live as 21st century bohemians, and have a large number of open-minded and creative friendships in both our online and physical community !!!

An additional goal is merging our online community with our "In real life" (IRL) community...

Elaine has a mind that move from High Tech to High Spirituality. She is brave, vulnerable, & sometimes, I think a touch wicked.... heheheh. But mostly, she is sweet, & a truly good sport. It was fun meeting her, & Carla last time I visited the Bay Area. The first day Elaine & I met, in the city, we went to a Burmese restaurant, where the tables are very close together. We started chatting a bit w/ the folks next to us. Elaine spilled some pretty personal beans quickly about her life- next thing y'know, the other folks were sharing some pretty interesting stuff too! That sums up a lot of what I like about Elaine. She's a GOOD instigator!

l finally met ElaineIsMyMiddleName this week when I accepted her invitation to a movie night. We had great fun, saw some really good movies and I got to spend a nice long day in the company of really hospitable, sweet people.

Trish and Carla were so much fun, very intelligent and their house rocks!

I am glad to have two new friends in this community!

Elaine & Carla's Friend Policy:

It would be an honor to have you as a true friend.

Friendships are reciprocal in nature, and we should stay in touch with one another. I, as your friend, will make a committment to reply to your emails and phone calls. Our 1st-degree Tribe friends are willing to do the same.

If you live within 100 miles of the greater SF-Bay Area, and especially in Silicon Valley, then let's get together via a phone call and arrange to hook up for kewl activities such as a movie, Dim Sum, or simply chill at our place. If we are already 1st-degree friends, all of the important contact info to reach me/us is in one of the photos in my profile's photo album

We do a monthly movie night at our place, which are via invitation. Do contact me if you would like to join Carla and me for one of our movie night events

We are always happy to meet new people, so if you are interested in being friends, send a PM and we can get to know each other. If you already know us, then what are you waiting for?
