Monkeys that go fishing discovered
What prompted behavior in primates remains a mystery

updated 11:36 a.m. CT, Tues., June. 10, 2008
BANGKOK, Thailand - Long-tailed macaque monkeys have a reputation for knowing how to find food — whether it be grabbing fruit from jungle trees or snatching a banana from a startled tourist.

Now, researchers say they have discovered groups of the silver-haired primates in Indonesia that fish.

Groups of long-tailed macaques were observed four times over the past eight years scooping up small fish with their hands and eating them along rivers in Indonesia's East Kalimantan and North Sumatra provinces, according to researchers from The Nature Conservancy and the Great Ape Trust.

The species had been known to eat fruit and forage for crabs and insects, but never before fish from rivers.

"It's exciting that after such a long time you see new behavior," said Erik Meijaard, one of the authors of a study on fishing macaques that appeared in last month's International Journal of Primatology. "It's an indication of how little we know about the species."

Meijaard, a senior science adviser at The Nature Conservancy, said it was unclear what prompted the long-tailed macaques to go fishing. But he said it showed a side of the monkeys that is well-known to researchers — an ability to adapt to the changing environment and shifting food sources.

"They are a survivor species which has the knowledge to cope with difficult conditions," Meijaard said Tuesday. "This behavior potentially symbolizes that ecological flexibility."

'They are very adaptive'
The other authors of the paper, which describes the fishing as "rare and isolated" behavior, are The Nature Conservancy volunteers Anne-Marie E. Stewart, Chris H. Gordon and Philippa Schroor, and Serge Wich of the Great Ape Trust.

Some other primates have exhibited fishing behavior, Meijaard wrote, including Japanese macaques, chacma baboons, olive baboons, chimpanzees and orangutans.

Agustin Fuentes, a University of Notre Dame anthropology professor who studies long-tailed macaques, or macaca fascicularis, on the Indonesian island of Bali and in Singapore, said he was "heartened" to see the finding published because such details can offer insight into the "complexity of these animals."

"It was not surprising to me because they are very adaptive," he said. "If you provide them with an opportunity to get something tasty, they will do their best to get it."

Fuentes, who is not connected with the published study, said he has seen similar behavior in Bali, where he has observed long-tailed macaques in flooded paddy fields foraging for frogs and crabs. He said it affirms his belief that their ability to thrive in urban and rural environments from Indonesia to northern Thailand could offer lessons for endangered species.

"We look at so many primate species not doing well. But at the same time, these macaques are doing very well," he said. "We should learn what they do successfully in relation to other species."

What got monkeys into fishing?
Still, Fuentes and Meijaard said further research was needed to understand the full significance of the behavior. Among the lingering questions are what prompted the monkeys to go fishing and how common it is among the species.

Long-tailed macaques were twice observed catching fish by The Nature Conservancy researchers in 2007, and Wich spotted them doing it two times in 1998 while studying orangutans.

Wich said it wasn't until Meijaard told him about his fishing macaques that he realized he had overlooked the unique behavior altogether.

"I was astonished. I thought it was a normal observation," Wich said. "I was really surprised because it indicated to me that you keep on making these observation about primates but you only discover they are interesting when you compare them with others."

Meijaard said the fishing behavior could be prompted by food shortages, droughts resulting in lower water levels that make it easier to catch fish, or habitat destruction that eliminates a key food source.

"There have been studies on macaques from East Kalimantan in the past showing that during especially dry years they run out of food and switch to alternative food sources such as insects, leaves or even bark, which is not normally in their diet," he said.

Meijaard also said he felt the behavior was not isolated to a few macaques, noting that he observed younger monkeys watching their elders fish and then mimicking their behavior. He also said the behavior occurred in two unrelated groups.

Paul Garber, an expert on primate behavior at the University of Illinois who read the study, said there was not enough information to determine whether it was something that was part of the macaques' culture or an isolated event. But he said it warranted further study.

"What I feel is most interesting about the observations of fishing is the possibility of documenting whether and how this novel behavior is passed or transmitted through the population," he said.

UNICORN BORN IN ITALY--
By Malcolm Moore in Rome

A roe deer with a single horn in the middle of its head has found fame as the "Unicorn" of Tuscany.

While single-horned deers have been spotted before, this particular buck has a uniquely central horn, thought to be the result of a genetic flaw.

"This is a demonstration that the fabled unicorn, which we all know from icons and legends, probably was not just a fantasy.

"It was probably an animal like this one, with a natural anomaly," said Gilberto Tozzi, the director of the centre.

Mr Tozzi added that the twin of the buck has two horns.

The mother of the two deer was brought to the park several years ago after being hit by a car in the Apennine mountains.

The mythical unicorn was thought to have healing powers and was generally depicted as a horse with the cloven hooves of a goat or deer.

The earliest mention of the beast was by the Greek historian Herodotus in the 5th century BC.

In one notebook, Leonardo Da Vinci suggested unicorns could be captured using a virgin as bait.

"For the love it bears to fair maidens [the unicorn] forgets its ferocity and wildness and laying aside all fear it will go to a seated damsel and sleep in her lap, and thus the hunters take it," he wrote.

Mr Tozzi said the Tuscan unicorn was also remarkably elusive.

"Our deer might be aware that he is a little different.

"He doesn't let himself be seen very often" he said.

He advised visitors to "arm themselves with binoculars and a lot of patience."

Last year, a hunter in Elma, New York, photographed a stag with a third horn protruding from the front of its head.

<div>That's what my guinea pig, Snowbie, was asking himself on Tuesday.
Mike noticed he was randomly squealing while trying to go to the bathroom and was refusing to eat his veggies which he loves so much. I took him to Blum Hospital (which is the only animal clinic in Lakeview, so you can imagine the wait time) and they diagnosed him with a lodged stone in his urethra...ouch (see xray/pic). He was probably in pain for a while, but masking it. In the wild, any sign of illness is a sign of weakness which equals being abandoned or seen as prey. When the stone was impeding urination, that is when the little guy decided enough is enough and squealed in horrible pain. The cause of his pain was due to not being able to urinate, a full bladder, and the obvious huge stone. If anyone has ever passed a kidney stone, you know what I'm talking about. Just by looking at the size of his, compared to the rest of his body, one can only imagine his suffering.
At Blum, they gave him some painkillers, antibiotics, and drained out his bladder twice. I syringe-fed him last night, and he seemed to be a lot perkier. I was referred to another vet for the surgery, which I saw this morning in Lincoln Square. They performed surgery on the little guy (cut into his bladder) and were able to remove the stone after pushing it down into his bladder by inserting a catheter into his urethra..(how many of you guys just flinched?!) I am so glad that they didn’t have to cut his urethra. This would have been much more invasive, require a longer recovery time, could cause a lot more problems in the future, and equal a lot more $. According to the doc, bladder stones are very common in boars and no one seems to know why. It could be hereditary, diet, etc. I will be getting the stone analyzed to see if there is something we can do, as far as changing his diet.
I called at 2 and they told me he was just waking up and that he was doing well and that they would call me tonight for the full run-down. He might have to stay over the weekend, depending on his recovery. He's still not completely out of the woods yet...they have to make sure he can urinate and eat on his own. It’s still costing us quite a bit, but how can we put a price on a little life we love so much? That’s what credit cards are for, right? Any animal owner/lover will understand.

Before any of this went down, we decided that he'd be our last little 'pet' pet for a while...until we could get our finances straightened out, move out of our apt, etc. so we are really hoping for the best!! He's 3 1/2 and some piggies have been known to live up to 8 years.

If you could send Snowbie some healings, he would much appreciate it..and us too!

He thanks you in advance for all the good healing vibes you'll be sending his way!

Love you mucho,

										<div>
I had some downtime at work so decided to look up a few wiki entries...I was curious to see what it had to say about New Age. You can find some pretty interesting posts on there.

Under New Age Movement

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Age_Movement

While other genres like ambient, psy-trance, goa trance are not associated with New Age in their philosophies they can in some ways be likened to a New Age perspective. Psy-trance, especially, suggests a fusion of transcendental feeling and the individual's connectedness with the cosmos. This experience and the dance culture surrounding it may carry cultural memes about technology, parapsychology, artificial intelligence, as well as a view that thoughts may in fact determine reality.

How I love ME PSYTRANCE!! =)

Why you ask? Cause I say so..its my reality. </div>

    </a>
<div>So easy to forget, but so very important to remember:

November 10, 2006
People Who Don't Get It

You may be someone who understands the true nature of reality, perceiving deeply that we all emanate from the same source, that we are all essentially one, and that we are here on earth to love one another. To understand this is to be awakened to the true nature of the self, and it is a blessing. Nevertheless, people who just don't get it are seemingly everywhere and, often, in positions of power. It can be frustrating and painful to watch them behave unconsciously. We all encounter individuals of this bent in our families, at work, and in all areas of public life. It is easy to find ourselves feeling intolerant of these people, wishing we could be free of them even though we know that separation from them is an illusion.

It helps sometimes to think of us all as different parts of one psyche. Just as within our own hearts and minds we have dark places that need healing, the heart and mind of the world has its dark places. The health of the whole organism depends upon the relative health of the individuals within it. We increase harmony when we hold onto the light, not allowing it to be darkened by judgment, anger, and fear about those who behave unconsciously. It's easier to accomplish this if we don't focus on the negative qualities of individuals and instead focus on how increasing our own light will increase the light of the overall picture.

When dealing with people who seem very unconscious, it helps to remember that every one must find their own way to awakening and that the experiences they are having are an essential part of their process. Holding them in the light of our own energy may be the best way to awaken theirs. At the same time, we are inspired by their example to look within and shed light on our own unconscious places, sacrificing the urge to judge and surrendering instead to humble self-inquiry.</div>

<div>Please help out if you can!

This is from Lucid Faerie, please help out with this additional
workshop. Lucid from this point on put the details on the Forum
because tribe messages too easy for me to lose...

Ok so for the plaster casts:
We went to Pearl and picked up plaster infused Gauze..this is best and
easiest way to do it, instead of just picking up a whole bunch of
plaster and having to mix it, etc.

So they sell bags of plaster infused gazue for about $5 a bag. You can
make 2 masks out of a bag, or one chest cast like the one I have.

So how many bags? I guess you can decide.
Also need: Big bowls to dip the pieces of gauze we will cut..(it comes
in a one roll)

and a big tub of vaseline..for faces we just used saran wrap which
worked great and was less messy, but for body Id use vaseline..if you
don't all your peach fuzz gets pulled off and it kinda stings/hurts...

SO MATERIALS:
bags of plaster gauze (found at Pearl)
Tub of Vaseline
Saran Wrap
Big bowls for water to dip gauze

I can handle this at CS, and maybe when people see how easy is to
make, then can help out casting everyone else who wants to partake. I
can do women (If they want their chests done..some might not be comfy
with a guy)..

Cool..,.im gonna be bizzy at this event!!

Yes K asked me to confirm she is doing this, this is how what I came
up with for the website reads:

Plaster Casting with Lucid and Darklight

Lucid and Darklight will be plaster casting your face and other
assorted body images as you like. Well, mostly face or chest casts for
women. Do the cast one day, paint it the next.

Donations are appreciated to help us pay for the plaster, which ain't cheap.

My Reply: Yes lets make it for Friday nght since it does take a long time to
dry..and i will be busy with the collage on Saturday...
Please ask for extra paints!! We'll bring ours, but we need more!!

    </a>
										<div>Chilluminati Collage

Hey beautiful people, I had an idea for a mini workshop at CSFM.
I was thinking about gathering as many photos, poems, inspired words,
misc items (anything that would glue..feathers, glitter, ribbon, etc)
and making a collage for Jef and Deb.

What I would need from everyone would be:

Photos (preferably developed ones, but color printed would do).
Definitely need photos of the Chilluminati crew, dj's, supporters, faithful
partygoers, performers, YOU (don't be shy, this isn't an ego thing)!!, etc. If they could be pictures taken AT any of the events, that would be preferable.

Flyers!! Any and all flyers from past events!! Psymbolic..do you guys have some you'd be willing to part with? Or if anyone has extras, please bring them! If no flyers are available, how about the images of the names of the events?

Chilluminati crew: Would love to have the image/icon/symbol of The Chilluminati. If you can't print it out, can someone please upload the image to the fotki site? (Read below)

Poetry-words (anything written to symbolize what these events mean to
you, or an experience you'd be willing to share)

Supplies: Lots of glue, scissors (some squiggly/zigzag ones would be great),
markers, paints, glitter, etc
I will provide the poster board(s)..maybe a foam board (depending on
the ride situation)

I was hoping to collect anything you had for me by Saturday afternoon (@ Crystal Sky)
then start working on the collage from Saturday afternoon on. I don't
see this taking too long at all.

At the event I would need:

Help cutting, putting the collage together..this will be much fun and
a great way to add your own little touches to this meaningful project.

An artist(s) to help paint/draw out the Title of the collage..it can
be as simple as 'The Chilluminati', or we can come up with a more
creative title later on. Artist to help paint, add some touches to the
collage.

Someone who has access to a color printer to help print out pix. I
would like to keep this task to a minimum, I understand the cost of
printing in color. I know of some people who would love to provide
pix but only have them on the computer, don't have them developed, and
don't have a printer.

This is a collaborative effort!! This will only come to realization
if ALL of us help out!! We all know all the hard work Jef and Deb do
for all of these events. I think this would be a beautiful way to show
our appreciation and to give them something that would last a
lifetime! (I'm pretty sure they'd frame it!)

If you want to add some pictures, I have registered a site just for us
for you to upload your favorite pix. (But please remember, if you can
print these yourself, of if you have a hardcopy, please bring those
instead). Again, if anyone can print out the pix that would be posted
on here, that would be fabulous..of course, if you wanted to take on
the cost to actually have them professionally printed, I'd worship you
forever!! =)

www.fotki.com
Username: chillcollage
Password: crystalsky

I've added a few pix already, but I really need your help!! You can
scroll down and upload pix one at a time or you can do so in batches.

I will be collecting your contributions from Friday to Saturday
afternoon. If you see me sitting down working on the collage, please
stop by, take a seat, and feel free to help! Not sure where I will be
sitting, but it will be around the workshop area. If you don't see me
by Saturday afternoon, please hand in your contributions to either Jef
and Deb and they will pass them on to me.

Feel free to post this post on any relevant site.

Thanks guys, I hope to this turns out to be as successful as I imagine it!
Lets make this dream come true!!

If you have any questions or want to take on any of these tasks,
please email me at: chillcollage@yahoo.com
You can also send me your poems, experiences, words and I will print
those and bring them with me.

I will also check back on the forum and my tribe blog.

I also need to know how many of you want to participate to continue on
with the planning.

Thanks guys!!
Love,
Kathia

Spiritualizing The Planet
Ascension
We are one with the cosmos whether we realize it or not. Realizing it, though, quickens our spiritual energy and allows us access to higher realms. In those higher realms lies the awareness that we are more than just finite physical beings living one life in one place at one point in time. Connecting with this awareness is to awaken to the truth and take a step forward, and upward, on our soul's journey. This upward movement is known as ascension because the more we remember who we are and embody that truth, the higher our energy vibrates; we ascend up the scale from the gross physical plane to the subtle spiritual plane. As we ascend, we gain consciousness of the more subtle aspects of our being, with the ultimate outcome being a complete identification with the light body, an experience of unification with the cosmos.

As you look around you, you will see that many people are not even interested in these ideas. Others are open and paying attention. Still others have devoted their lives to deepening their understanding of the truth. All these people are on the path of ascension, but they will ascend at different rates. Each soul chooses its own path. The more devoted a person is to remembering and being guided by spirit, the more quickly the soul will ascend. These people are at the forefront of an important process of raising the energetic vibration of the whole planet. The earth, made of the same energy we are, is undergoing this shift along with us. This evolutionary process, while seemingly chaotic at times, is as natural as the process that unfolds a flower from a seed and we are all part of it.

It shouldn't be forgotten that the earth too is on her own ascension path as she is sentient. The best way to support this process in yourself and in the world is simply to relax and be open to its unfolding. Listen to your inner guidance, and let it guide you to the path that brings your heart the most joy. </div>

										<div>Happy Solstice!

Summer Solstice
On the longest day of the year, the sun, which has on the days preceding seemed to rise higher and higher into the sky, reaches its zenith and rises no more. This day, which in the Northern Hemisphere can occur between the 20th and 23rd of June, marks the start of summer and is known as the summer solstice. From time immemorial, the coming of summer's light and warmth has been a time of gladness and celebration. In June, the snows had long since melted, the ground had thawed, the first fruits were ripening on their vines, and Mother Nature had once again renewed herself. Though most of us have turned away from our agricultural heritage, the summer solstice remains a time of new beginnings and life-enriching endings. It is the day the sun reaches the peak of its power as well as the day that heralds the shorter days that eventually bring with them autumn's chills.

For ancient peoples of the Americas and Europe, the summer solstice was a particularly joyous day-and one auspicious for those seeking year-long luck, fertility, abundance, and prosperity. Men and women on two continents would gather to pay tribute to the sun's magnificence, to pray for a bountiful harvest, and to bolster the sun's energy with bonfires and fireworks. Today, the summer solstice represents an optimal time to reflect upon the blessings we have received in seasons past and visualize the new bounties we hope to receive in the season just beginning to flourish. At noon, when the sun is at its highest point, we can pay reverence to its incredible strength and its ability to create life while also musing on the impermanence of life as represented by the impermanence of the season. You can reestablish your innate connection to nature on the summer solstice by spending time outdoors; following the sun's procession as the day passes; burning sun oils such as orange, be! nzion, or juniper; or decorating an altar with solar images, summer greens, or colorful blossoms.

Just as the summer solstice is symbolic of agricultural growth, so is it symbolic of personal growth. It is a wonderful time to nurture your potential as you would nurture a tiny seedling and let your creative energy express itself fully. On the summer solstice, you may feel compelled to emulate the noontime sun and be at one with the world around you or to let your inner brilliance shine forth at full strength, if only for a single day. Your life, like the seasons, follows a cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, and summers, whether literal or figurative, can always be celebrated.</div>

The Energy of An Embrace

    </a>
										<div>
Hugs
The need to touch and be touched is established early in our lives, as we develop and grow in the omnipresent embrace of our mother's womb. Once we are born, separated from that sanctuary of connectivity, we begin to crave the physical embrace of our parents. As we age, we become more independent. Yet during times of triumph or trouble and during those moments when we are in need of reassurance, we can't help but long for a hug.

Because a hug requires two active participants, each individual taking part in the embrace experiences the pleasure of being embraced and the joy that comes from hugging someone. As both individuals wrap their arms around one another, their energy blends together, and they experience a tangible feeling of togetherness that lingers long after physical contact has been broken. A heart hug is when you put your left arm over someone's shoulder and your right arm around their waist. As they do the same to you, your hearts become aligned with one another other and loving, comforting energy flows between the two of you to flood your souls with feelings of love, caring, and compassion.

A hug is a pleasurable way to share your feelings with someone who is important to you. Depending on your relationship with the other person and the kind of message you wish to send to them, a hug can communicate love, friendship, romance, congratulations, support, greeting, and any other sentiment you wish to convey. A hug communicates to others that you are there for them in a positive way. In an instant, a hug can reestablish a bond between long lost friends and comfort those in pain. The next time you hug someone, focus all of your energy into the embrace. You will create a profound connection that infuses your feelings and sentiments into a single beautiful gesture

Many Tight hugs to all of you...MMMM!

Collective Good-The Greater Cause

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/lucidfaerie/blog/ba5dea93-c040-4de7-be7e-ee38e426dbeb"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/b11/c72/b11c7294-1b81-46a7-96d3-ee7376857e07.thumb" width="65" height="42" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>
With all that takes place in our lives, it can sometimes be easy to overlook the fact that we're part of something greater than ourselves-a collective consciousness, the Universe, a greater cause. Because of our tendency to forget this, we might make decisions in our lives that don't reflect that responsibility that comes with this belonging. All too often, we focus just on the short-term, tangible gain to ourselves without worrying about its consequences. Other times, we may discard the greater cause because it seems like "hard work." The challenge is to expand our minds so that we transcend the distinction between self and others, so we are aware of how our choices and actions can impact a greater cause.

Contributing to the greater cause doesn't have to be all about self-sacrifice. For example, if you plant a tree in a community space, its shelter will cool and protect you as well as your neighbors. Or, your reward might be in the form of the beauty that you now see in that space or the sincere smiles of appreciation from neighbors. When you serve the greater cause you also serve your greater good. There is nothing that you cannot do for your highest good that will not benefit the good of all. For example, saying no to a relationship that isn't right for you not only benefits you but serves the greater good of the other person that you are honoring with your honesty. Saying yes to your dream job not only fulfills you but also serves the people that will benefit from your enthusiasm and productivity.

When you know you are serving a greater cause, there is little room for fear and doubt. You know that what you do will benefit others, so there is no way the universe is not going to support your efforts - even if sometimes it may not look that way. Serving the greater cause allows you to live from the space of your greatness. When you know that what you do can serve a greater cause, you are aware of your power and ability to influence and create change in this world.

Venezuelan Government To Launch International 9/11 Investigation
Truth crusaders Walter and Rodriguez to appear on Hugo Chavez's weekly TV broadcast

Paul Joseph Watson &amp; Alex Jones/Prison Planet.com | March 31 2006

Billionaire philanthropist Jimmy Walter and WTC survivor William Rodriguez this week embarked on a groundbreaking trip to Caracas Venezuela in which they met with with the President of the Assembly and will soon meet with Venezuelan President himself Hugo Chavez in anticipation of an official Venezuelan government investigation into 9/11.

Rodriguez was the last survivor pulled from the rubble of the north tower of the WTC, and was responsible for all stairwells within the tower. Rodriguez represented family members of 9/11 victims and testified to the 9/11 Commission that bombs were in the north tower but his statements were completely omitted from the official record.

Jimmy Walter has been at the forefront of a world tour to raise awareness about 9/11 and has still yet to receive any response to his million dollar challenge in which he offers a $1 million reward for proof that the trade towers' steel structure was broken apart without explosives.

Rodriguez said that he was told an FBI agent had asked the hotel him and Walter were staying in turn over a list of names of residents. Upon hearing this, the National Assembly provided armed military protection for the entirety of the trip. In addition, Walters said that CIA agents were seen surveilling the beach on which he and Rodriguez had handed out free DVD's a day earlier.

The US government attempted to sabotage the trip by putting Rodriguez, who has been decorated at the White House itself, and Walter on a no fly list.

Rodriguez (pictured above) and Walter are educating top Venezuelan officials on the evidence that 9/11 was a self-inflicted wound carried out by the military-industrial complex. They have also appeared on every Venezuelan television and radio station both private and state owned and have given huge presentations to major universities.

Upon visiting, Rodriguez said that the President of the Assembly, Nicolas Maduro's home was brimming with books, videos and documents about the 9/11 cover-up. Maduro, Venezuela's top legislator, intoned that he was ready to create an international investigative committee, looking into the "international crime scene" that is 9/11 and that this would be structured via Hugo Chavez's government.

Rodriguez and Walter are also set to appear on Hugo Chavez's weekly broadcast 'Alo Presidente' - which is often subsequently the source of major international headlines. If there is no coverage of this event then we know for sure that a blackout order is in place.

Rodriguez and Walter offered their full support for Charlie Sheen's recent public stance on 9/11 and were heartened by his efforts. The potential of a government level inquiry endorsed by Hugo Chavez dovetails with Sheen's call for an independent investigation to be carried out by political foreign nationals.

Though the establishment media will no doubt seek to demonize Chavez as a militant with an axe to grind, this is an exciting development and the next step on the road to a genuine investigation that will seek to uncover the truth rather than hide skeletons and whitewash as was witnessed with the staged Kean committee.

    </a>
<div>I love sneezing... Is that strange? I feel such a sense of release.. I love how I feel right after I sneeze for a few seconds. It feels good!!
I'm a multiple sneezer..I think my record is like 15 times in a row. And the feeling you get when you can't get one out...how frustrating!!

The history of sneezing is very interesting. Aristotle believed the sneeze to be a favorable omen. Among the Zulu a person who has just sneezed proclaims "I am now blessed; the ancestral spirit is with me. It has come to me. Let me salute it, for it is he who causes me to sneeze."
In India the sneeze is very important. After you sneeze the people around you will say "Live," and you must respond, "Live with you!." Indians consider the sneeze to be a sign of health. According to Science magazine the inability to sneeze is considered a disease and scientists are looking for ways to induce the healthy sneeze.

Of course the western culture views sneezing with suspicion. We say bless you not because the heart skips a beat or because your soul has exited your body (as some south Pacific Natives believe). We say "bless you" because of the Black Death of 1590 A.D. The bubonic plague killed off half of Europe. The plague was recognized by rashes, swelling, and fits of sneezing.
Since death often followed sneezing, people began to say "bless you" as a final blessing.

Have you ever wondered why looking up at a bright light/sun makes you sneeze? No one knows for sure. Our bodies are so complex!
Strong emotions like excitement or fear can also result in a sneeze!

Well no matter what the cause or situation, sneeze away! Don't ever stifle a sneeze,,could cause nose bleeds, ruptured eardrums or popped blood vessels.

And that was your science lesson for the day!

ACHHOOOOOOO!!! Just have a tissue handy! =)

MySpace Is The Trojan Horse Of Internet Censorship
Media elite's last gasp effort to save crumbling empire

Paul Joseph Watson &amp; Alex Jones/Prison Planet.com | March 16 2006

MySpace isn't cool, it isn't hip and it isn't trendy. It represents a cyber trojan horse and the media elite's last gasp effort to reclaim control of the Internet and sink it with a stranglehold of regulation, control and censorship.

Since Rupert Murdoch's $580 Million acquisition of MySpace in July 2005, it has come from total obscurity to now being the 8th most visited website in the world, receiving half as many page hits as Google, despite the fact that on first appearance it looks like a 5-year-old's picture scrap and scribble book.

MySpace is the new mobile phone. If you don't have a MySpace account then you belong to some kind of culturally shunned underclass.

What most of the trendy wendy's remain blissfully unaware of is the fact that MySpace is Rupert Murdoch's battle axe for shaping a future Internet environment whereby electronic dissent, whether it be against corporations or government, will not tolerated and freedom of e-speech will cease to exist.

MySpace has been caught shutting down blogs critical of itself and other Murdoch owned companies. They even had the audacity to censor links to completely different websites when clicking through for MySpace. When 600 MySpace users complained, MySpace deleted the blog forum that the complaints were posted on. Taking their inspiration from Communist China, MySpace regularly uses blanket censorship to block out words like 'God'.

Earlier this week Rupert Murdoch sounded the death knell for conventional forms of media in stating that the media elite were losing their monopoly to the rapid and free spread of new communication technologies. Murdoch stressed the need to regain control of these outlets in order to prevent the establishment media empire from crumbling.

MySpace is Rupert Murdoch's trojan horse for destroying free speech on the Internet. It is a foundational keystone of the first wave of the state's backlash to the damage that a free and open Internet has done to their organs of propaganda. By firstly making it cool, trendy and culturally elite for millions to flock to establishment controlled Internet backbones like MySpace, Murdoch is preparing the groundwork for the day when it will stop being voluntary and become mandatory to use government and corporate monopoly controlled Internet hubs.

The end game is a system similar to or worse than China, whereby no websites even mildly critical of the government will be authorized.

The Pentagon admitted that they would engage in psychological warfare and cyber attacks on 'enemy' Internet websites in an attempt to shut them down. The fact that the NSA surveillance program spied on 5,000 Americans tells us that the enemy is the alternative media and that it will be targeted for elimination. Google has been ordered to turn over information about its users by a judge to the US government.

The second wave of destroying freedom of speech online will simply attempt to price people out of using the conventional Internet and force people over to Internet 2, a state regulated hub where permission will need to be obtained directly from an FCC or government bureau to set up a website.

The original Internet will then be turned into a mass surveillance database and marketing tool. The Nation magazine reported, "Verizon, Comcast, Bell South and other communications giants are developing strategies that would track and store information on our every move in cyberspace in a vast data-collection and marketing system, the scope of which could rival the National Security Agency. According to white papers now being circulated in the cable, telephone and telecommunications industries, those with the deepest pockets--corporations, special-interest groups and major advertisers--would get preferred treatment. Content from these providers would have first priority on our computer and television screens, while information seen as undesirable, such as peer-to-peer communications, could be relegated to a slow lane or simply shut out."

The original Internet will deliberately be subject to crash upon crash until it becomes a useless carcass of overpriced trash and its reputation will be defiled by the TV and media barons cashing in on the perfectly streamlined Internet 2, the free for all network that just requires you to thumbscan in order to log on! Those with a security grading below yellow on their national ID card will unfortunately be refused access. Websites that carry hate speech (ones that talk about government corruption) will be censored for the betterment of society.

For the aspiring dictator, the Internet is a dangerous tool that has been seized by the enemy. We have come a long way since 1969, when the ARPANET was created solely for US government use. The Internet is freedom's best friend and the bane of control freaks. Its eradication is one of the short term goals of those that seek to centralize power and subjugate the world under a global surveillance panopticon prison.

Rupert Murdoch's MySpace and its ceaseless promotion by the establishment media as the best thing since sliced bread is part of this movement. In saying all this we do encourage everyone to set up a MySpace account, but only if you're going to use it to bash MySpace, Rupert Murdoch and copy and paste this article right at the top of the page! See how long it is before your account is terminated.

3/4 cup (6 ounces) cream cheese (the recipe called for low fat..but fuggit!..its better with all that fat..mmm!)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
2 teaspoons REAL maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
24 apple slices ( I recommend Granny Smith apples..the tart goes well with the sweet)

Place first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl, and beat with a mixer at medium
speed until well blended. Add syrup and cinnamon, and beat until smooth AND FLUFFY!
Cover and chill 30 minutes. Serve with apples. Or anything else really..crackers, strawberries, chocolate, etc.
