Lucky had fixed my ghetto, hastily-cobbled-together poi for me on the playa. He even wrapped green tape around the ring handles with ninja precision, not knowing that green is my favorite color.

Sh*t I've Got to Say

For the last several months, a group of talented artists have
dedicated their time and effort to Philadelphia’s Burning Man fire
conclave, Aish Tamid. The words Aish Tamid are Hebrew for eternal fire
and when you see what this group has created, I know you will agree
that fire has a long life in our community. It has been my honor to
work closely with some extraordinary people and I look forward to the
next 9 weeks as we continue to perfect our performance and in all
hope, present our ... read more

This is the true story... of 24 fire artists... picked to make a conclave...and have their performance taped... to find out what happens when people stop being polite... and start getting real...

At the bottom of this page you will find the link to our conclave submission video, which we are all very proud of. This labor of love is a testament to what happened when people take their arts to new levels, pushing concepts, dedicating their time and energy, and working together.

WASHINGTON - The White House on Tuesday denied a published report in Israel that said President Bush intends to attack Iran before the end of his term in January.

A story in the Jerusalem Post quoted a "senior official" there as saying that Bush plans to attack Iran in the coming months. The story says the unidentified official claimed that a "senior member" of Bush's traveling ento... read more

If you ever have to eat me, please don't fry me. I've worked to hard to be healthy to be fried.

Thanks.

The truth about who this Lucky character is and his philosophies on what this Life character is...

It seems that I do well at most things I work at, which is why I still live with the mentality that I can do anything I set my mind to. Actually, it’s the other way around. So read that sentence backwards and then it makes more sense.

I do, however, have trouble staying committed to one particular thing. There is so much that I want to do that I end up becoming good at many things instead of great at just one. I believe this stems from how I define myself as a chemical make-up.

One part parents + One part friends = Lucky. My parents are creative and fun, but are “by the book” and believe in taking one step after another. My friends are spontaneous, unemployed and a little crazy. And I am the result of these influences, leaving me perfectly balanced at times and totally confused at others, but I am ascending more toward enlightenment. And with this ascension has come my involvement in fire arts. This is one passion that will never be put down. Spinning fire always intrigued me and when I finally made a pair of poi, was adopted by spinners at Burning Man, and lit up for the first time (in the fire conclave), I let go. I fell hard into the art and am diving head-first down the rabbit hole. I will play or talk about it any day, night, or we can meet up in my dreams. I love being around others who spin so that I can teach and learn. Take and help. Balance. Enlightenment.

More? Ok…

I love to write, particularly quotes I have come up with that express how best to make the most of life -- essentially lessons I’ve learned and the philosophies that grew out of them.

I believe in helping others and making a difference. Isn’t this all what being a burner is about? I take pride in calling myself a burner and believe in its philosophy of community. If you don’t know why you’re on this planet, then while you figure it out, help out the people who know.

The only thing I despise is when someone intentionally tries to hurt another life. Other than that, die your hair, change your sex, or protest the use of fur -- Just tell me more about it because I am probably curious. I think people should be genuine and express themselves the most positively, constructive way they know how. I think this is why I love Halloween so much. People who suit themselves up in the morning and sit-com themselves out at night use this one day as an opportunity to get out of the shell they have created for themselves, and be expressive. I also like it because I always make some crazy tricked-out costume, and crazy tricked-out costumes rule if you weren’t yet aware.

When I look around at the people I am friends with and who I am, I realize how much we rock. Too many people struggle with life and I sympathize, a little. I was once there, but then I evolved. I actually just began accepting that things like cable guys not showing up, rain while your camping and playa dust in your sleeping bag are inevitable and unhappiness truly comes from not accepting life’s unavoidables. And happiness comes from doing what you want.

Good friends are important, but so is time to yourself. You have to be your own friend also. That comes from the happiness part of doing what you want and loving that you do the things you want. It all comes full circle like this slight tangent that I went on, and now I am here back at how friends are important. They are. See, full circle. Shapes are cool too.

If you’re still reading, I give you kudos, whatever those are. They’re some type of snack food, right? Don’t answer out-loud. I’m probably not sitting next to you right now. But if you are still reading, I’ll finish up with what I am searching for in life. Here’s your head start -- it’s passion.

The most attractive feature in another person both sexually and spiritually is passion. Passionate people are drawn to each other. I believe it inspires and two passionate people can feed off one another and become better at their arts. Passion is not something you can fake and it is one of the strongest bonds on the periodical table. That’s what the empty spaces at the end of the table are left there for.

Passion -> Love -> Relationships -> That’s life.
