What makes the soul of the poet dance? Music. What makes the painter paint beautiful pictures, the musician sing beautiful songs? It is the inspiration that beauty gives. Therefore the Sufi has called this beauty sāqī , the divine Giver who gives the wine

hey kids, so i stumbled back into these lovely united states of ours after a 24 hour flight marathon from delhi during which i managed to lose my camera, with 4 gigs of lovely pictures which i would've loved to show you, my new ipod, with 20 gigs of music and a sweet 60 more to go, and my cell phone. Kinda crazy stupid that i made my way across the most full power country in world with no major incidents or loses and i finally get back to my final stop in seattle and everything goes to shit. ...

spent my last night in Rishakesh at the Freedom cafe. strange and lame that i cringed at the name. the spot is a shanti space on the river with plenty of room and a big round spot in the center for chillaxin. several musicians had gathered including a sarod player, clarinet, drummer, guitars and a spanish dude with a hang drum. the thing is like two steel drums from the future fused together to make a futureprimitive orb. anyways, the vibe was a bit tenative but i was feeling like a firecrack...

Lightening pierced the sky and the thunder cracked and rumbled as the storm overtook the majestic mountains of Rishakesh. A penetrating rain freshened the air above the mighty Ganges. By candlelight i sat on the edge of a canopied, roof-top restaurant over looking the valley and played gypsy melodies like a concerto with the storm as my symphony; a humble offering to this village, it's people and the breath-taking land it's built upon. i feel like i could stay here forever and play my horn, r...

A beautiful and complex man- a gypsy at heart, a composer by nature, a craftsman by trade, a musical genius by birth. Luke does it all. He has shown me depths of the mind, body, and soul connection I could not fathom. Always enlightened in his presence...He is a gift to all those around him. He has concocted his potion, stirring the pot with inspiration, thought, kindness, and compassion. A solid man-lost in perfection. If you have heard his music, it speaks his truth. This poem reminds me of him; "Patience. In this there is no measuring with time, a year doesn't matter, and ten years are nothing. To be an artist means; not numbering and counting-but ripening like a tree, which does not force its sap, and stands confidently in the storms of spring, not afraid that afterward summer may not come. It does come. But only to those who are patient, who are there as if eternity lay before them, so unconcernedly silent and vast". -Rilke. I am grateful to know this humble, talented, intelligent being.

Ok, where to begin...luke, this is to you and for you...there is a time in everyone's life when they feel they have hit rock bottom, and have become to scathed to crawl back to the surface. It hit me one winter in Ashland and I thought it was what life had to offer, who I was and what I would always be left with to offer others. This person with demanding presence, conscience more inspiring than most, and a personal awarness and love that I so longed for and felt was unreachable came into my life. Whether shredding a mountain, the internal spiral, a trumpet, or his own warrior prowess, luke was one of the first to make me fully realize that life is willing to open it's arms to anyone who is willing to go for it. Good luck friend and thank you...

Re: Sidechain Compression?

so it seems you can use the compression both ways depending on which sound you want to dictate and which you want to receive? i'm trying it with audio drum tracks and bass lines and not getting the best results. it's probably more effective with m...
