First Day of Recovery From ACL Surgery

   Thu, November 29, 2007 - 8:31 PM
Well it has been one full day since I returned home last night from having ACL reconstruction surgery on my right knee. After waiting nervously four hours at the hospital, they finally wheeled me into the OR around 4pm. All I remember was the nurses putting an oxygen mask on me, and then I woke up a little after 7pm in a good amount of pain. The nurse put some pain meds into my IV which helped, and finally, I was able to go home around 9pm. Surprisingly I slept ok last night (thank goodness for the nerve block where they numbed my right leg.) Though by early afternoon today it started to wear off. I'm thankful for pain meds and having Rob helping me with whatever I need. It has been a day of relaxation, but it has also been a day of pain and realizing that I have a long road ahead of me. I am truly thankful of all the support from my friends and family for they help lift my spirits.
