Laptop for rent or loan?

   Mon, May 5, 2008 - 8:17 PM
I'm having knee replacement surgery next month, and I'd love to have a laptop for a few weeks - while I'm in the hospital and laid up at home - just to net surf, email and watch DVD's. is there anyone who has an old one lying around that would work for that, or do you know of any places that I can rent a laptop on a short term basis? Unfortunately I can't claim it along with the wheelchair and walker to be covered by insurance. :~D

Have you been doing any "pre-hab"? You know, a little strength building before the surgery? If not, I'd encourage you to ask your doc about it as soon as you can.

I had an ACL replacement about a year ago and found I was very glad I'd done some strength training beforehand. Rehab is really wonderful. If you do what they say, you DO get your strength and range of motion back, but it's a full-time job and demanding.

Yeah I have been doing prehab Noel, but probably should step it up a bit - thanks for the reminder.

when is your surgery? If I am not in internship and needing it, I might loan mine out, though it isn't old...I can't afford to have an old one lying around! It is what I bought in celebration of getting into grad school, hardly used because they decided in core class that we won't be using any electronic devices. People were pissed.

Hey April, thanks! Surgery's on June 9 at Virginia Mason. I think I have a loaner laptop now, so thanks for the offer!
