Spring

this has been the most beautiful spring (I say as I sit blogging in my warm cozy home while winter is trying to tempt me outside - Ha!)
Really. We're having "dogwood winter" with 30 degrees predicted last night.

I have seen gorgeous trees, flowers. The grass is green, green, green. After last summer's drought, I guess it seems greener. The redbuds are aflame in lavender blooms. The daffodils are gone now, replaced with narcissis, iris and tulips. The pansies are bright and colorful.

The country is the most beautiful with unexpected scenes like the cows grazing in the daffodils.

Kitty Cat's Return

Early Thursday morning (Dec 28), in my sleepy stupor, I thought I heard a cat meow. I was in the process of feeding Sally and thought it was a memory I heard. I stopped. Listened intently. I opened the door to the garage and Kitty Cat was demanding food just as he did every morning. He never told me where he went during his 5 weeks away. He seemed healthy and fed. Probably some family is wondering now where their stray cat went.

Thanksgiving day and it was the last time we saw Kitty Cat. He didn't come home from his adventures. I have hopes that he will return.... a miracle. It can happen.

If he had not disappeared, I never would have said yes to my friend's question, "Do you want a puppy?"

Sally came home with me on December 5th. She was a stray. My friend had posted flyers and announcement on the radio as well as an ad in the paper. No one came forward. The vet said she looks to be 11-12 weeks old. She's a terrier. Looks like a Jack Russell.

She's already got me trained. When she wants to go outside, she goes to the door and gets her leash off the chair.

We're glad to have her. My oldest son, Miecree, had given me a grand-dog, but I only get to see him maybe once a month. Capone and loves to play with his "aunt". And Sally loves to play with him.

Wondering.....

....or is it wandering? October is nearly done, the year will soon be over. What have I accomplished this year? I made the decision to have my son enrolled in a RTF/school. Finally I went to a lawyer about back child support (after 9 years of doing without). But this is all re-active. What have I done pro-actively?
Actually I think I'm too hard on myself.
