<div>B: 2.17.1927, Chicago IL
Married Phyllis: 6.27.1959
They moved to LA: 10.16.2003
Hospitalized post-stroke, the night of 9.27.2007.

Cremation via The Omega Society; no memorial is planned.

Norbert was a gentleman of impeccable character, fidelity, kind love, and integrity. Adhering to the tenets of his Roman Catholic faith, he believed that one’s purpose here on Earth was “to get yourself to Heaven.” It seems that Divinity has always rewarded him. He was universally liked and respected. With keen observation informing his unassuming, efficient wit, he charmed new friends wherever he went. He was always the witty gentleman in his social circle, while endeavoring to eliminate the presence of “swear words” and crude content in his vicinity. Eg., for over 20 years, a group took an annual fishing vacation to wild realms of Canada accessible only via small seaplanes, sometimes as far north as the Arctic Circle. Though some of the guys might use marijuana or vulgarity, or be disrespectful to Nature or their Native American guides, Norbert’s voice of conscience always kept situations in-control without dishonoring his traveling companions! Educated at Carl Schurz Public High School and 2 years of night classes at Northwestern University, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family – his widowed mother Clara, wife Phyllis and only child Michael. He provided exceptional education for Michael, including St. Constance Catholic Grammar School, the all-boys Loyola Academy Jesuit College Preparatory High School, and Northwestern University. While working 40 years for Zenith Radio &amp; Television Corporation until retirement, he worked a side job and cared for the 2-flat home he purchased from Clara 2 years before she peacefully passed on during sleep. Norbert maintained and improved that home while renting the second floor to well-cared-for tenants, until Michael (who moved to Hollywood in March 1998) coordinated the final move to Los Angeles.

Phyllis has always been the radiant center of love in her family. An only child born 8.18.1932, she contracted polio at 11 months of age. Her Depression-era family took turns massaging her legs – the only remedy then imagined. Somehow she sang, danced and “ran track” though a keen observer might notice her limp – left leg being 1” shorter, its foot lacking any muscle control. A leader among her peers despite frequent bully-beatings en route to school, she has always been a fearless enthusiast and optimist, her huge brown eyes loving all she sees – especially polite gentleman Norbert, whom she met via the “Key Club” group she co-founded. At their weekly socials in Skokie, IL’s St. Peter’s Catholic Church basement, Norbert &amp; Phyllis shared many witty, polite conversations. But he was a “confirmed bachelor,” and never asked her out. Until she vanished mid-evening one week, and Norbert upon inquiring of her whereabouts, was informed that her date had picked her up. Clever Phyllis. The following week, Norbert asked her out. Their courtship was characterized by LONG conversations in Norbert’s car upon driving Phyllis back to her parents’ home, lasting till dawn, covering all manner of serious topics. Upon awareness of the brightening sky, one would always remark, “All I said was...!!” and they’d break out in hearty laughter. In fact, love and laughter were always the principal commodities traded between Norbert &amp; Phyllis. Sometimes they’d express concern to the upstairs tenant, “I hope we’re not too loud” – the response being, “No, I love hearing you laugh!”

Norbert’s commitment to Phyllis was not without challenges. When Michael was 4 years old, Phyllis experienced her last of multiple miscarriages. At full term, planned daughter Lori did not survive while Phyllis did, thanks to her mother Lorraine’s alert timing, but hepatitis was contracted from blood transfusions. While she was bedridden for a year, Michael “grew up fast” and coordinated the household. Phyllis learned to walk again and loved her dedicated role as loving housewife and nurturing mother. As her strength increased, so did Michael’s popularity as a child actor. Phyllis &amp; Michael ventured on CTA el trains &amp; buses from Northwest Side Jefferson Park to downtown Chicago for a successful two years of professional acting in TV commercials &amp; industrial films, until cystic acne set in and Michael transitioned to working behind the camera. Norbert’s support for his family was unwavering, as hardworking financial provider and loving husband &amp; father.

Michael moved from Chicago IL to Hollywood CA in March 1998. After a few years, Phyllis began to experience Post-Polio Syndrome &amp;lt;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-polio_syndrome> requiring her to use a walker or wheelchair for mobility. In 2003 Michael took a break from developing his career, to care for the health and welfare of his family. He traveled home to Chicago, sold the home which had been built by Clara on a vacant lot in 1952, and moved parents and possessions to Los Angeles. A short break was intended, but their care became more time-consuming than anticipated. The surprising departure of Norbert at age 80 as life partner and caretaker of Phyllis, age 75, brings new challenges... But every challenge is an opportunity.

Stay tuned... “Love is the Answer, no matter the Question.”

Gunman bursts into party, tastes cheese and wine, gets hug, then leaves
The Associated Press
Updated: 2:47 a.m. PT July 13, 2007
WASHINGTON - Police on Capitol Hill are baffled by an attempted robbery that began with a handgun put to the head of a teenager and ended in a group hug.

It started about midnight on June 16 when a group of friends was finishing a dinner of marinated steaks and jumbo shrimp on the back patio of a District of Columbia home. That's when a hooded man slid through an open gate and pointed a handgun at the head of a 14-year-old girl.

"Give me your money, or I'll start shooting," he said, according to D.C. police and witnesses.

Everyone froze, including the girl's parents. Then one guest spoke.

"We were just finishing dinner," Cristina "Cha Cha" Rowan, 43, told the man. "Why don't you have a glass of wine with us?"

The intruder had a sip of their Chateau Malescot St-Exupery and said, "Damn, that's good wine."

The girl's father, Michael Rabdau, 51, told the intruder to take the whole glass, and Rowan offered him the whole bottle.

The robber, with his hood down, took another sip and a bite of Camembert cheese. He put the gun in his sweatpants.

The story then turns even more bizarre.

"I think I may have come to the wrong house," he said before apologizing. "Can I get a hug?"

Rowan, who works at her children's school and lives in Falls Church, Va., stood up and wrapped her arms around the armed man. The four other guests followed.

"Can we have a group hug?" the man asked. The five adults complied.

The man walked away a few moments later with the crystal wine glass in hand. Nothing was stolen, and no one was hurt.

Once he was gone, the group walked into the house, locked the door and stared at each other _ speechless. Rabdau called 911, and police came to take a report and dust for fingerprints.

Police classified the case as strange but true. Investigators have not located a suspect. The witnesses thought he might have been high on drugs.

"We've had robbers that apologize and stuff but nothing where they sit down and drink wine. It definitely is strange," said Cmdr. Diane Groomes, adding that the hugs were especially unusual. "The only good thing is they would be able to identify him because they hugged him."

Th March 29, 2007 PT
Guy Spiro’s Astro-Weather for Thursday March 29, 2006 Pacific Time:
The high cautionary relationship energy from the past two days will remain with us through today. Reread and apply carefully. There is another major energy running through the day that is a continuation of energy from the 25th. This needs to be handled carefully. On higher octaves, it can be positive for making new beginnings along spiritual lines. But on lower octaves you will want to watch out for spaciness and confusion, especially around the beginnings of projects. The early predawn starts out with good moods, but watch the mid predawn for relationship issues, spaciness, hard attitudes, and coercion. The early through mid morning chips in with general irritability and aggression. The midday contributes spaciness and more aggressiveness. Moods will improve through the rest of the afternoon and into the evening. Be aware that the Moon will be void of course this evening from 6:23 until 8:27 when it will enter Virgo. At that point the energy will lift and general moods will tend to become more discerning and concerned with detail.

Fr March 30, 2007 PT
Guy Spiro’s Astro-Weather for Friday March 30, 2006 Pacific Time:
There is a major energy coming into focus throughout the day that is highly social and funoriented, and after the past several days we have it coming. Plan some sort of unusual and stimulating activities with those close to you, and have a great time.

Sa March 31, 2007 PT
Guy Spiro’s Astro-Weather for Saturday March 31, 2006 Pacific Time:
The high fun and social energy mentioned yesterday will remain with us through today. Choose to focus on it. There is another major energy that is rather more cautionary. Watch for some people to be easily aggravated, which in extreme cases can lead to violence. This energy can bring problems with and for authority, and there may be attempts at regime change on many levels. Light will be shed on the uses of energy and power, and this aspect is likely to lead to some headlines. Minor aspects are mixed through most of the predawn, but good moods should run from the late predawn through much of the morning. The late morning through the nighttime is mixed at best. Choices.

Su April 1, 2007 PT
Guy Spiro’s Astro-Weather for Sunday April 1, 2007 Pacific Time:
The Moon will be void of course this morning from 6:37 until 8:43 when it will enter Libra. At that point the energy will lift and general moods will tend to become more con-cerned with balance and beauty. There are three major energies running throughout today. The first is very good for beginning projects involving communication, transpor-tation, electricity, technology, and on higher octaves, magic. The second easily brings problems to relationships. Guard against feelings of restriction and frustration, and acting out on them. Problems in this area that are indulged today can lead to more severe and longer-lasting consequences than usual. You will notice energy levels rising throughout the day as tomorrow’s full Moon rolls in. Minor aspects are no help, and this is a day for good choices.

Mo April 2, 2007 PT
Guy Spiro’s Astro-Weather for Monday April 2, 2007 Pacific Time:
Today is full Moon day. It is exact at 10:15 this morning. Remember that full Moons are always high energy and deserve to be approached with caution. With this particular full Moon, you will want to concentrate on self-discipline. The cautionary relationship energy mentioned yesterday will tend to linger through today and there are two more major energies coming into focus. The first easily leads to problems in communication and transportation, especially where people run into restrictions and frustrations that pop up unexpectedly and out of nowhere. The third is high but erratic social energy that can easily run out of control. Minor aspects are little to no help and this is definitely a day for good choices.

Tu April 3, 2007 PT
Guy Spiro’s Astro-Weather for Tuesday April 3, 2007 Pacific Time:
Consider the full Moon to run through today and well into tomorrow. Yesterday’s cautionary energies will remain with us through today as well. Continue to be careful in all your dealings with others, especially in situations involving communication and transportation. Also continue to be on the lookout for people getting carried away with the social energy. Many will find it hard to focus on work. There is another major energy coming into focus throughout the day that also easily brings problems to communication and transportation. Difficulties will arise where people attempt to say and do too much. Don’t bite off more than you can chew and don’t make promises you’re not sure you can deliver on. Minor aspects are mixed, but good moods are available to those making the right choices. Be aware that the Moon will be void of course tonight from 7:29 until 9:35 when it will enter Scorpio. At that point the energy will lift and general moods will tend to become more intense.</div>

You can read about my adventures (Chapter One is now posted): http://www.geminimanor.com - click on "Alexander's Travel Blog". Oaxaca is a very special, beautiful place that is filled with museums, churches, Zapotec ruins, hand-woven fabrics, clean air and, most of all, proud, resourceful people. </a>
										<div>You may know that the past few years have been quite a challenge for me. In 2003 I sold the old Chicago homestead, bought a place for my folks, &amp; moved 'em out here to the San Fernando Valley. It was an immense task, but I'm the only child, so that's just part of my job. :-) Since then, much time has been spent acclimating &amp; assisting them (Mom's post-polio syndrome made her dependent on a wheelchair-or-walker sometime around 2001), plus lotsa Home Improvement...

I'd be honored if you would like to share a meal with myself &amp; my parents Norbert &amp; Phyllis, to celebrate his 80th birthday. I'm open to suggestions for date, time &amp; place.

Tritech Research, Inc. is a small, but well established Biotech company and Biotech equipment manufacturer. We have been in business for over 15 years, and profitable every year. Candidates should be able to use a Mac and/or PC proficiently with Word and Excel. The successful candidate will have a career-track position that involves talking on the phone with our scientist customers and our vendors, so they must be detail oriented and communicate pleasantly and clearly in English. Tritech runs with an entrepreneurial spirit, and we are looking for people who are excited to work more than 8 hours per day when circumstances call for it, and who can stay at work past 6pm while helping to maintain and create a playful but high-level work atmosphere. Due to a busy and intense work environment, the ideal applicant must be able to multi-task and quickly get back on topic when interrupted. </a>
										<div>BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD.
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the directions of truth and love.

DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY.
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS.
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST.
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do you best, and you will avoid self-judgement, self-abuse, and regret.</div>

    </a>
										<div>"A person hears only what they understand."
"A person places themselves on a level with the ones they praise."
"A noble person attracts noble people, and knows how to hold on to them."
"If I accept you as you are, I will make you worse; however, if I treat you as though you are what you are capable of becoming, I help you become that."

"Until one is committed there is always hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising to one's favor all manner of unforeseen accidents and meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would come his way. Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."

"Adversarial" vs. "Good Intention" -- Thought for the Day 1/29/06

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/m_w/blog/c5461756-f5d7-4e6d-950a-8ea32a6741fe">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/514/519/514519a3-7b52-477f-96f4-e97a0f21f4e2.thumb" width="65" height="26" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>All the problems we see passing before our eyes are not the real problem.
They are symptoms.

The problem is not the problem. The problem is the process.

The process allows situations to become ridiculously wrong.

I applaud those who fight the good fight to right the wrongs of this world. We need them very much if things are not to go even more completely haywire.

But they are in an endless battle.

The real problem is spiritual.

We have a lack of intelligent good intention.

So I watch the constant repetition of difficulties. They appear different in their individual manifestations. But they are the same problem again and again.

Intelligent good intention.

Intelligent good intention is a spiritual process.

Spirituality is conscious, awake, aware, caring. It polices itself, watches for its own honesty and realization of truth. When mistakes are made, spirit grows from the mistakes, corrects and moves forward.

In the asleep world mistakes are covered, denied, defended aggressively. In order to divert attention from mistakes attacks are made in other areas to distract attention. And so we watch a world that is, incredibly, proud of its adversarial process.

Spiritually we desire consensus, to bring all to understanding and proceed by agreement.

So in my world, my universe, I return once again to the stillness to contemplate, recover from the last wave of fingerpointing that they keep calling news.

"Michael please stop sending me this stuff. I find it rather vage and unapplicable. Whatever you intention or interpretation is, It probably isnt even in the same library.

I'm sure that there are some people who really like this stuff, but I gather food for thought from different places.

Let's compare it to meat eaters, versus vegetarians, versus breatharians.... "

Abundance vs. Scarcity -- Emanations / Thought for the Day 1/27/06

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/m_w/blog/ef161547-ce6c-45c0-8aa0-39313adc6dcf">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/6da/349/6da349ef-329b-4fdf-b69e-5aafa1fd1bb5.thumb" width="65" height="26" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>We have a most interesting situation in our modern world. We are definitely in transition to abundance at a whole new level. Yet we are still thinking in old ways, Darwinian survival of the fittest mode.

We have a technology of abundance saddled by a psychology of scarcity.

There is nothing wrong with technology. All of the problems come from that psychology of scarcity. It is a fear based attitude that generates greed and selfishness.

We have the technology to feed, clothe, provide energy for, clean up and preserve the environment, and still grow and prosper. Technology is literally unlimited in what it can accomplish. It can literally build new worlds, heal all illnesses, create a quality of life beyond our current imagination.

But without love, caring, and generosity, a psychology of abundance, technology is a wayward child. Our current attitudes toward abundance are still fear based. People who talk about abundance are usually talking about how you can profit from the current situation, not how we can all benefit, share, and love each other.

In other words, the underlying spiritual truth is unchanged. Rather, it is amplified. The price of being out of tune with our highest selves becomes greater and greater the more advanced our technology becomes.

So the spiritual need transcends the technological need by far. Technology has a life of its own. It will continue to grow.

Look at our world. Has humanity benefitted spiritually from the technological advances? This is a serious and very beautiful question. I say serious because of the consequences. I say beautiful because the challenge is to create inner beauty on a scale we had thought was going to only be in the next life.

But here, now, my life has become transcendent. I have abundance beyond the imagination of most humans who have ever lived, now or in the past. How will I use it?

I am choosing to fill it with love, caring, and generosity. The present becomes the future.

Infinite Love &amp; Joy are Ours to Share...

<div>Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
