about me
I'm a Consecrated Priest of the Irish Earth-Goddess, The Morrighan of about 5 years, now (though I've been Pagan for twice that time!). And, uunlike some other posers, She chose me to serve Her, rather than so many Buffy Bunnies invoking Her to their pedantic ends, or what they think She is based upon spurious, "fixed," late 19th. century academia.
But, I really am a nice guy, honest! I just tend to get upset by all of the posers that plague modern Pagan Witchcraft these days. Especially the anti-Fluffy Findamentalists which are just as bad as the Fluffy Bunnies (they like to tell everyone how wrong they are, or claim their research is crap (regardless of the shifting winds of academia), or enact out-and-out character assassination for no other reeason than their own selfish Egos. I have a hard time believing that the vast majority of these people would say to whomever they happen to be insulting what they are if the conversation were in person. Hypocritically, the 'Net tends to give folks an instent set of brass balls. But, I've digressed enough... I'm a researcher, and writer (well, that is to say I have several writing projects underway as we speak!), with a sincere interest in cultural anthropology and antiquated material culture! However, the worship of the Old Gods always come first. Take Care, Wade MacMorrighan

Pagan Stencils?
(in Crafty Witches)
Hey guys, I have a project underway to make a jewelry box for my rings and pentacles, etc.: I've bought two classic deck fence-posts (with a flat top) that I want to stain and hinge together. But, I also want to stencil the top wih a Pagan motif,...

Jim Haskin's "Voodoo & Hoodoo" & Cat Yronwood!
(in Rootworkers)
Hey guys, I just ordered a second-hand copy of Jim Haskin's book "Voodoo and Hoodoo" for my personal Library; and, it ought to be here in a few days! Anyway, according to Cat's site, she says, "[b]ecause of a few serious botanical errors in the o...

Equating Socialists with Nazis?! WTF?!
(in Anti-Capitalist Ass Pirates)
Ugh...I am soooo pissed, right now! Just a few moments ago on CNN Headline News, the anchor Susan K. announced that members of a local Nazi protest are "members of the national Socialist movement"! Now, there are two reasons why I am so upset: 1...

Re: Potion-Crafting
(in Rootworkers)
Two fascets (including one question) that I hope to tackle is a global examination about how other cultures brew heir respective potions, and if the ultimate origins of the potion as a medium for Magick can be traced to shamanism, or even to hallu...

Re: Potion-Crafting
(in Pagan)
Thanks, Mojo. Yes, I agree, and while I cannot fathom any Witches brewing potions for others before brewing for themselves, it is still something worth passing on.
Moreover, it tends to bother me that more Pagans on-like aren't sharing their M... read more discussion post on Sat, April 19, 2008 - 10:09 AM
Nota Bene: This review constitutes my own opinion based upon years of research, so it goes without saying that YMMV!

A (Preliminary) Review: Werewolves, Witches, and Wandering Spirits: Traditional Belief & Folklore in Early-Modern Europe, ed. by Kathryne A. Edwards. Sixteenth-Century Essays & Studies, Vol. 62. Because I am a Socialist, I'm seriously considering writing my elected officials a few tough questions, this week (and that they NOT insult my intelligence with a pre-written form-letter, because I'm a highly educated freelance Historian) about why they think they deserve to earn the money they do, and not have their pay checks drastically cut, for working as little as they do--I would love to make that kind of money for so little physical and demanding work (and, I'd be good at it, too!). A...

Hey guys, just yesterday I was flipping through the channels on TV when I came to rest on The History Channel (though I wish they'd scrap a lot of their crap, to be honest, and produce more TV dealing with ancient history and ethnography, etc.!), but I came to realize something during the broadcast of a montage-like commercial dealing with the late 60s--Gay culture was not a part of it? Were their not marches for Gay Rightes and Solidarity during the 60s? Fuck yeah! But, what was more, I c...
