Something I saw on my trip down the coast
about me
I am not the first one on stage, but once there I can sometimes surprise myself with what comes out of me. I am a thinker, inventor, observer, creator. I travel, speak several languages, try to connect people together, see their truth. I value craftmanship. I am not afraid of the dark. I think there is more to life than this. I can cook without a recipe in front of me. I can spell, but I can't type. I like adventure and value new experiences and learning more than many other things. I touch with a gentle intensity. I would like to meet someone who can teach me something new, who I can make laugh out loud, who can best me at something and be kind afterwards.

So, I just started my training to become an MSF certified RiderCoach. It is fun so far -- it is warm and sunny out which helps alot. There is a lot to learn, and I am psyched to get it all going. But first, I must ride down to Santa Cruz on twisty...

Shodan (2)
(blog entry)
Well, this morning I took ukemi for Mary Heiny at her private lesson, and afterwards Sensei asked me if I was going to be at the dojo tonight, and to be there to talk about schedule for the big test.
After class tonight sure enough, she told me...

Shodan

The process of readying onesself for Shodan is very personal, but usually involves some amount of demon-vanquishing and travel through one or more long tunnels.
I just had my first mock-test. It went pretty well, in that I clearly demonstrated ...

I might try writing something about my foray online to find a new gf, and coming out of it with an interesting set of acquaintences. The jury is still out as to whether meeting someone online is the best way for geeky people locked into a social r...

When I get back, I will continue my preparations before going down to Shelton, WA to the State Police training range for the IP course. After that I teach two supervised BRC's before my state certification. The...

After class tonight sure enough, she told me I will be testing for Shodan October 20th. I am to provide my own certificate and hakama before then to Jessie for wrapping. I'll give them my belt, too, since I bought a nice one for myself in Japan when I got the hakama. I hope the hakama doesn't ...

I just had my first mock-test. It went pretty well, in that I clearly demonstrated what I have to work on improving, and managed to keep my sense of humor about it. At one point I noticed a small crowd of people pressing their faces to the glass watching me get attacked with a bokken from the sidewalk outside. I was way too focusse...

I might try writing something about my foray online to find a new gf, and coming out of it with an interesting set of acquaintences. The jury is still out as to whether meeting someone online is the best way for geeky people locked into a social rut to find their soulmates. I certainly don't know. I do know that there are many many people whom I never would meet were it not for this, that I am very glad I did.
Great, first post and its devoid of content. Perfect. OK then.
